Category Manager, Reviews and Q & A (San Francisco, CA)
Edit
Wikia is searching for a talented Category Manager with a passion for social media, consumer pop-culture (videogames, TV, film, anime, etc), and, of course, building amazing consumer experiences on the web. While we don't expect your thumbs to have gaming blisters or you to be a walking TV Guide, you should have a solid understanding of social media, what's popular, future trends and why everyone seems to love vampires.
What you will be doing
Edit
- Develop and own a content, traffic and user acquisition plan for growing Wikia's Q&A and Reviews Platforms.
- Be "the contact" for the founders and communities. Answer community questions, mentor users on how to get the best out of the platform and surface issues to product team.
- Define and execute targeted community marketing, social media, events and PR to drive traffic and content creation.
- Work with sales team to package content for sponsorship opportunities with Brand Advertisers.
- Work with product team to develop vertical specific feature sets.
- This opportunity will start out as a contract position, with the ability to move to a full time staff role.
About you
Edit
- You want a chance to run your own startup, where you're the CEO, The Social Media Evangelist and the Customer Support Team.
- You are a strategic thinker that can keep their eye on the prize, while diving into the details and make stuff happen at all levels.
- You've marketed to consumers before and understand that nothing can buy a user's loyalty better than an authentic product.
- You have a strong voice that people often listen to.
- You work well with others and play even better.
If this sounds like you, we want to hear from you!
