Search and Natural Language Processing
Wikia hosts over 300,000 wikis, totaling in tens of millions of content pages. This content is stored in Apache Solr, which we use as our search solution. This project would involve building tools to apply natural language processing libraries to our raw textual content to implement new features and improve search relevance. The developer on this project would be responsible for implementing analyzed natural language data fed into Apache Solr and MongoDB to power intelligent new features in the areas of search, user interaction, and content discoverability. Code will be directly contributed to Wikia's application repository available on GitHub.
