Self-Service Advertising on WikiaEdit

Wikia's self-service advertising product is called External Sponsored Links. A sponsored link allows advertisers to seamlessly target users on a particular wiki without a monthly spending minimum. These links are text ads created by you, located at the bottom of a wiki page. Your sponsored link will contain a clickable title and an ad description; the description provides a more complete explanation of the product or service that you are advertising.

Why Sponsored Links?Edit

Sponsored link advertisements are a great way to connect with users that are truly interested in products and services related to your industry. Advertisers are able to create highly targeted text ads that link back to your external website. Wikia’s user base is highly engaged, made up of influencers and trendsetters who actively consume and create content on a daily basis. Read more about our users here.

How to CreateEdit

There is a three-step process for creating a sponsored link advertisement:

1. Find a wiki page that you want to advertise on, scroll down to the Sponsored Links section, and click the "Click here!" button.
2. Select which ad package best suits your advertising needs, and fill out all of the required information (URL, title, description, number of shares, and email). Once you have completed this information click "Pay with PayPal", our online payment service provider.
3. You will then be directed to PayPal. If you have a PayPal account, you can log in; if not, you'll need to create an account. After you log in or create an account, PayPal will ask you to "Review Your Information." When you are satisfied with this, click "Agree and Continue" and your order will then be processed into our system and reviewed within 48 hours for submission.
