Wikia Interaction DesignerEdit

Wikia is searching for a dynamic Interaction Designer to join its design team. We’re a small and friendly startup that’s looking to create progressive design and overall user interaction. Our small size means we need a team player who can contribute to all stages the design process, but whose primary strengths are designing clean, friendly and engaging experiences for the Wikia community.

We’re looking for a candidate who:Edit

· Is a design thinker and an evangelist of user centered design.

· Has a strong design aesthetic and can help to define and manage the Wikia brand.

· Has a strong portfolio featuring interaction design samples.

· Is a clear verbal communicator and is detail oriented.

· Has 3+ years of experience designing web or desktop applications.

· Ideally has expertise in CSS, Javascript and AJAX.

· Social media or UGC site design experience a major plus.

Responsibilities:Edit

· Participating in all parts of the design process from helping to define project goals through to the production of final artwork and/or CSS.

· Ideate and design engaging user experiences and collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to bring them to life.

· Contribute to user research exercises.

· Produce prototypes to communicate concepts to our team and for user testing.
