We are looking for smart, quick and highly motivated software engineers at all experience levels to join our growing and profitable company.
You will be a part of the team designing, developing, and deploying Wikia’s industry-leading wiki platform in addition to developing new technologies for mobile, user-generated content, advertising technology, etc.
We have openings at several levels, from roughly 5 years of experience to 20+ year veterans.
These positions are full-time, based out of our San Francisco office.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Excellent software engineering skills and judgment. You live to deliver high-quality excellent software products to end-users.
- PHP experience strongly preferred but not strictly required.
- Some of your experience must be in web-based applications.
- Some of your experience must be in small, fast-moving, high-growth teams.
- Experience scaling large-scale consumer web sites. You think 10M pages/day is a good start.
- Experience using JavaScript, preferably including jQuery, as well as experience with Ajax, HTML, and/or CSS.
- Excellent communication skills. We are a growing international team – your ability to understand and be understood will be critical to your success and satisfaction.
- Experience contributing to or maintaining a wiki. (If you have one, please include a link to your user page on Wikia, Wikipedia, or another wiki site.)
- MediaWiki or other CMS development experience.
- Hard-working and pro-active. Passionate. Team-oriented. Motivated to do whatever is necessary to make a successful start-up even more successful.
- Desire and excitement to work with international teams a must, as well as willingness to travel occasionally to Europe.
- Degree in CS or related discipline.
