Part-time Contract Designer

The Wikia design team is looking for a Junior Designer who can work with us for 16 hours a week. Wikia has just finished a major redesign of the site and is now focusing on the ads and marketing collateral we‘ll be displaying on the site. This means that it’s time for us to increase the size of our team.

This is an entry level, professional position and is the perfect opportunity for an ambitious and talented graduate to get their foot on the ladder by gaining experience working on a broad range of projects for multiple teams.

What you will be doing

Working with a bunch of awesome people including our Sales, Marketing and Communications teams to produce designs in both digital or print formats, including:

  • Both premium sold ads and custom mock ups to aid the sales team.
  • Internal marketing material to show and navigate our users around the site.
  • Collateral and the occasional logo for the communications team to help explain new features and products to our users.

About you

  • A love of design and a good design eye.
  • A degree or equivalent in design.
  • Some experience of working in a professional environment.
  • Plays well with others: the ability to collaborate, take constructive feedback and use it to push your work is a must.
  • Ability to manage and complete multiple projects under very tight deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Copywritting skills a plus; the ability to play with words.
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS skills is a plus (no hand coding, don’t worry).
  • Quick learner with the desire to know more.
  • Fun to work with, we are a silly group.
