Mount
From Dofus
A mount is simlar to a pet, although both have the advantages and disadvantages over the other. You can only use a mount or a pet at a time, you can not use them both.
Advantages To Mounts Compared To Pets:
- Can boost mulitple characteristics sometimes beyond that of an equivalent pet can not give (e.g Vitality, Wisdom and Strength).
- Can carry items, much like a portable chest, up to a certain number of pods depending on color and level (although you can have a pet equipped, a mount simply attached, and still use this feature).
- Does not have a regular feeding time, only needs to be fed when energy is depleted.
- Losing battles does not affect the mount.
- When a pet dies you must complete a dungeon to revive it, whereas a mount only requires a feeding.
Disadvantages To Mounts Compared To Pets:
- Can only equip 1 mount at a time and changing mounts require a paddock.
- Unequiping a mount requires you to empty it's inventory.
- Huge experience donation from the user to the mount in order to level it up to recive it's full benefits.
- Requires level 60 in order to be able 'mount' the mount and to be able to level it up and enjoy the stat bonus.
- Time consuming if you are breeding to obtain a specific mount.
- The mount inventory is completely separate from the normal inventory so access to the bank is hard as it has to be traded first to the user then to the bank (if you are full of stuff you must unload things to the bank then from the mount to your inventory and then again to the bank).
- When mounts energy reaches zero it becomes unridable until energy is raised (by feeding or using a Manger).
- If you're aggressed whilst riding a mount, unlike equipment you cannot dismount and change across to pet. You cannot eqquip/unnequip it in the battle preparation screen.
- Some spells canot be performed on a mount. Pandawas can't pick up and throw, Ecaflips can't use Felintion and Iops can't use Brokle.
Note: You cannot equip a mount and a pet at the same time.
For information on how to obtain and breed a mount please see the Breeder page.
