Alaska Healthcare Reform

Healthcare reform is desperately needed in Alaska. One fifth of the state is uninsured. Delivering care in Alaska requires unique and innovative approaches to combat a perpetual shortage of health care clinicians and to reach remote villages not connected by road. Akhealthreform will provide a place for ordinary Alaskans and experts to: 1. compile relevant information about Alaska's healthcare system, and 2. improve a troubled healthcare system in Alaska. This site is intended to augment future healthcare reform efforts by the federal government. Our state, like all states, has a unique population that will require unique solutions. This wiki can help contribute to solutions by involving and educating more participants and generating new ideas.
