[edit] About American Girl
Modified from Wikipedia:
American Girl is a line of dolls and accessories that was based on pre-teen-girl characters from various periods of American history. The company's flagship line is a collection of historical 18-inch dolls spanning from 1764 early Native America to the 1970s. The characters, representing nine-year-old girls, live through variant times in American history and provide a child's perspective of significant events that helped to shape the United States. The line later expanded to include modern dolls, annual Girls of the Year, baby dolls and twins, and characters from other countries.
The point of the American Girl Wiki is provide an open and honest database of knowledge about American Girl, its products, and its characters and stories. Too much basic and in depth knowledge about the company and creations are contained in closed or off-limits forum, with people outside of those small circles being left in the cold to research on their own. And really, anyone should be able to hit up their favorite search engine and learn about American Girl. That's what the wiki database is about--open knowledge. This wiki exists to allow anyone who wants to research American Girl or contribute to the knowledge to do it freely, without feeling that they are tied to a single board or forum.
