Wikia - creating communities
Wikia Blogs are a new feature where the best content from a selection of the most popular wikis can be distributed via a blog. Please see Inside Wikia for details.
There are nine Wikia blogs that cover different categories. Readers can subscribe to these or use the feeds on their own sites. Communities of the wikis involved can select the best content from their wiki each day and an admin can add a snippet of that content appear on the Wikia Blog.
If you are a member of an active Wikia site in one of these categories below that is not yet included on the blog, please suggest the addition of that wiki on the discussion page.
If your wiki is including in this feature, you can add to one of the blogs by editing MediaWiki:Blog snippet on that wiki. Add a line like this at the top to add a new blog post:

- Note: You must leave a blank line between each blog posting.
The Blog snippet can only be edited by admins. You can find out who the admins are on a wiki by going to Special:Listadmins.
What you can and can't use: When editing the snippets, you can use normal wiki markup. For example, on the Halo wiki, you can write [[Main Page|Halo Wiki]] to link to the home page of that wiki. It is recommended that you do not use templates since these often do not work. You can include an image by using the full image URL, but not using wiki markup like [[Image:Imagename.png]]. You can not use apostrophes in the title. The <option> feature can not be used. Polls can not be used.
Each blog is updated every 10 minutes. If two posts are made within this time, it will queue them, so the 2nd one would take 20 minutes to appear. For example, if finance posts at 9.12 and woot posts at 9.14, the finance post will appear at 9.20 and the woot post will appear at 9.30.
