Jean M. Auel is the author of the Earth's Children series, which contains five books and a sixth on the way.
The books chronicle the life of a Cro-Magnon girl, named Ayla, who was raised among Neanderthals but eventually finds her own race and has trouble adjusting to their way of life. The five books contain hundreds of characters and locations, herblore, legends and much more.
