From time to time, one Wikia will be featured on the Community Portal and Main page of the central Wikia.

To nominate a wiki, please choose one from the list of Wikia and add it to the "nominations" list below, with a comment on why you think it should be featured. When making nominations, consider which wikis were already featured and choose one which has not recently had this exposure.

  2. Nominate it (if appropriate)
  3. Make supporting comments of the nomination of your choice
  4. vote for your choice
    If the header does not already exist on the voting page, please add it in alphabetical order. Nominations do not need to be "approved" before they can be added. However, if a wikia is ineligible (see the eligibility section below), it cannot win.

The Age of Empires Wiki has been unactive (execpt me) so the wiki needs more active contributers to help. There's a lot of things to do in this wiki because there are many stubs, lack of pictures, and many wanted articles. So if you enjoyed the Age of Empires series I think you should come look at the wiki.

This site is getting bigger and bigger by the day. We have over 24,000 content pages, and over 1,200 users.

We also:

  • Were the creators of the now openserving software
  • We have fanboxes, which are userboxes that show what teams/players/other users that the user likes/dislikes
  • We have a unique blog feature called clubhouse, which allows users to post a template on their user page and let everyone see their most recent and most voted on opionions.
  • We have a questions section where anyone can post a question and people will answer without it being hidden away in a different section of the site.

Any and all sports fans are welcome to join.

This wiki was created August 22, 2005 by user Bottles98. It appears to have been abandoned back in 2007. I have stepped in and have (and I'm still working on it) redone the wiki in the middle of Janurary in 2008. I would like to put this on the featured wikia. I already have an image for it too. Please just let me know on my talk page what is up with this.

Basilicus is a free content fiction and world-building project designed to offer a wealth of resources, settings, and information to be used in fictional endeavors. The primary goal for this project is to create the largest, most detailed, and elaborate fictional setting ever conceived.

With a great deal of help from the Wikia community, Basilicus has gone a long way since September '06. Streamlined processes make the content easier to access and contribute to. Now with several major fictional civilizations blossoming, plenty of politics and wars to navigate, and spin-off roleplaying communities, Basilicus' position as a one-stop shop for free fictional content is maturing.

We've passed 5,000 visitors and it's a time to celebrate. The wiki's purpose couldn't be more beneficial to society: We're trying to improve the workings of NYC's government, and we expect that lessons learned there to be broadly applicable.

Yeah, that's cool and all, but BS01 wiki is a much more successful wiki that actually HELPED Greg Farshtey create the Bionicle Encyclopedia 1. But it's the best Wikia Bionicle Wiki! EDIT: This is a great Bionicle source of information. It helped me through some tough times while BS01 was down. It is also the only wiki that has in-depth information about Bionicle topics that BS01 does not allow, like the list of Bionicles that were leaked on the web. With no affiliation to Bionicle, it can post anything it wants about it. It is the best unrestricted source of Bionicle wisdom! - Toa of Mirrors -I think bionicle wikia is really cool and very informational except BS01 is a lot more popular. I think it is because of the competition that it is less popular. -Toa of Life

This wiki is in serious danger of failing. It's only got 78 articles and less than five regular contributors. It's a challenge to write for, as so little of the story is so far known. Articles have to undergo rewrites virtually weekly as each new episode is released. It's perhaps not getting much attention because users want to wait to commit time to it before it's established as a show that will continue past its initial order of episodes. Still, it needs people at this early stage who are willing to commit some time to it to develop its basic infrastructure. I doubt people who are already interested in the program know there's a specialized wiki just for them, since the show is in its earliest days. CzechOut ☎ | ✍ 01:58, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

It could use some publicity, as it has only two users: the creator and myself, and not too much work gets done with only one person editing. Also, I think Bomberman is a game series popular enough to deserve a wiki. Oboro Maru

I hereby nominate the Club Penguin Wiki for featured Wikia because of its fantastic content. It has over 110 articles and adds more when new things come out. It has about 38 registered users as of Friday, July 27, and many more unknown IP adresses. It provides a great database of all that is known about Club Penguin, and even includes a few fun pages where users can post their dressed up penguins, add strange player names and odd quotes that players say, ect.

Nominating the Wiki dedicated to the Command & Conquer series of games. What distinguishes it from other wikis, is that the entire site is written in character, and provides a streamlined overview of the world and it's evolution, disregarding arbitrary divisions of released games.

I've been a member of this Wikia for about a month now. I'm having a blast contributing to it, but there's always more work to be done. The DCAU has a lot of information out there and a variety of different subjects, but cartoons are fun to write and talk about so I'm certain people would be willing to help if they knew this existed. I have worked on this wikia for a LONG time, since ALL my articles on the ENTIRE Superman: The Animated Series page were erased on Wikipedia. Just recently, I've finished up the last of the Batman Beyond episode guides. Now, both Superman and Batman Beyond are up in full and there are plenty of other articles still to be written.   • I'm totally biased as founder, but here goes:

Exceeding all expectations, Diabetes in Pets has built over 210 articles, 70 categories, and 39 case studies in its first 6 weeks of existence. Every article and case is focused, relevant, and multiply (and correctly) categorized. It includes an unusually complete online resource of insulins of all brands (over 100 types listed and categorized), as well as over 150 well-chosen links to external resources. Our 3 most active contributors have been working like mad to make this all happen, and it's going unbelieveably strongly. Potential audience size is in the tens of thousands worldwide, and we draw information and support from the existing hundreds of members of the Feline Diabetes and Canine Diabetes message boards.

There have been a total of 15034 page views, and 2591 page edits since the wiki was setup. That comes to 5.32 average edits per page, and 5.80 views per edit. In addition, there are photos, medical charts, and professional-looking templates for insulin types.

So in these categories, it deserves to be featured:

  1. great support for newcomers -- every newcomer gets a personal welcome and pointers to useful pages, and help with image formatting of their own pet if desired.
  2. most creative use of categories -- Categories are used to automatically sort incoming pets by medication used, medical conditions, unusual features, and type of medical case. They are also used to divide commercial insulins into 18 categories, in more detail than seen anywhere else on the internet.
  3. best new templates -- There's a lovely template for each incoming cat or dog to use, as well as a special informative template for each insulin product.

What we need now are more contributors.

I'm actually quite blown away by the size and quality this wiki has achieved in a short time, and I look forward to seeing it next year! --User:Steve_and_Jock

  • Ok, it's a year later, and I'm even more blown away. The wiki has now a complete set of articles on the topic (I can imagine a few more, but it's pretty complete now) at about 250. In addition, it has over 100 case studies, a VERY comprehensive set of information on insulins and medications, endorsements from 2 famous veterinarians, mention on NPR and central site "Diabetes Monitor", and affiliation with the largest pet diabetes site in the world. The articles are thoroughly sourced and annotated. Anyone with a diabetic pet who chooses to do their research here can become an expert.
  • Also, it uses categories very creatively, to help find other pets with similar conditions, medications, and complications as one's own.

Karen & Pearl: Pet diabetes is an increasing concern and there is little good info being given in the vet community. Pet owners desparately need informative, accurate sites like this to help them learn and to help them cope with a very treatable disease. This is just a fantastic resource.

Rebecca Price: The incredible effort people have poured into this site and its careful attention to detail & accuracy make it a model for what the Wiki can achieve. I have no reservations about referring people to this Wiki for information.

This Wiki is for the NarniaWeb.com Forum's Ditto Town Universe. There are 14 subcategories and 115 articles, all written by Ditto Town members since April 17th, 2007.

This is the (un)official wiki for the popular MMORPG DOFUS, which does not have a high exposure in the US (it is developed by a French company, and the majority of the servers are French). If the wiki gets a higher exposure, and hence the game gets a higher exposure, it could greatly enhance the user experience.

It's been a few months since the Featured Wikis were updated on the main page, and I'd like to suggest featuring two of the fall TV shows -- Pushing Daisies and Journeyman. Journeyman premieres on September 24th, and Pushing Daisies the week after, on October 3rd. We're putting a lot of work into getting these wikis up and running for the premiere dates, and it would be great to have them featured on the main page. [edit] Half-Life Wiki

This wiki was recently adopted by Donut THX 1138 as it had no sysops or even members. In the last few weeks Donut has recruited about seven other users to help him improve the site. Currently the site could use some major help, as Donut has created 95% of the 140 pages there (1050+ edits in 2 weeks!). This would make a great featured article as Half-Life is a very popular game, it's the PC's Halo, and the wiki majorly needs more members. At this point we've got a large amount of content of the Half-Life 2 portions of the series, but lack most of the Half-Life (1) sections. There's a lot of work to be done, but with some better publicity and some more new members, this wiki could become HUGE! I hope you decide to add the Half-Life Wiki to the featured wikis soon. With TONS of active members and rare vandalism, this wiki is the best! It has tons of information on the Halo Universe, and is the most popular Halo Wiki to date.

This Saturday the Sci-Fi channel is running an all day marathon of every Heroes episode so far. Due to the admittedly still relatively small number of contributions that have been made to the Heroes Wiki so far this would be a great opportunity to recruit some new contributors. So I am asking you what the best way to advertise the marathon and website is just until Sunday morning. I thought about nominating it on the wikia messages or wikia spotlight but thought that might take to long. A chance you can speed up the process? thanks!

[edit] Joepedia: The G.I. Joe Wiki

This wiki has been out for more than a year now. It was started in late 2006, been inactive for several months, a total surprise that it wasn't nominated as an orphaned page. It has been revived last year and managed to gain some attention. But that is still not enough as there is practically only one regular contributor and a smattering of casual visitors. Although based on a toy line, it has since spawned a dedicated a huge following thanks to the cartoons and comics. --Destron Commander 13:46, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Kingdom Hearts Wiki is a growing site but we need more editors! We have around 500+ articles and our first featured article was on Jan 11. Our community consists of ex-Final Fantasy Wiki editors so we know alot about Kingdom Hearts. Plus the KH series is very popular right now in the gaming world. We are always thinking of new things to get the site noticed and make it fun! We are in the middle of renovating the site and it seems to be going well but we need a few extra hands. The site is well maintained by two very intelligent editors who bring alot to the wiki. The Lone Wolf wiki is over a week old, and already has over 300 article, images, has one featured article, a logo, and recognition throughout the fanbase on the internet. As the series, previously nearly extinct, is about to become far bigger than it ever has been, and this wiki being created in near record time, I think it should be featured. A very succesful wiki that has been going well for 2 years now. The LOTR wiki has 2,576 articles but only a handful of regular contibutors.

There are ten User: pages now, but a significant number of the contributions have been anonymous - I know there are more than ten people working on it! The Munchkin wiki will be about the Munchkin card game. Fast-playing and silly, the Munchkin set line features many, many, MANY RPG parodies. The sort of articles that will be included are articles about the base sets, expansions, extra rules, RPG books, and extras! And maybe some card articles, which will be monitored closely. The manga/anime One Piece is, as of now, Japan's most popular. The popularity of One Piece easily rivals that of the legendary Dragonball. This story is rich, deep, and strong with complex details. One Piece is not a common everyday manga/anime like Dragonball or Naruto.

The purpose of the One Piece Wiki is to help it become more popular here in America. It should be as big of a hit here as it is in Japan.

This site started in February 24, 2006. It did not start growing to its current state until August. It's over 9 months old.

  • The Pakistan Wikicity has taken off very quickly since October 8, when the earthquake struck this region. It has been featured in print and was one of the top five wikis in terms of page impressions in October. The wiki has grown over the past few weeks to be a very useful resource, especially for information on the earthquake. The stats show the wiki has 255 pages and 101 legitimate articles, but many of those pages are highly detailed and there have been almost 2000 edits in total. The wiki is well organized, with many categories and some useful navigational templates. Wikia are donating (and matching) the advertising revenue from this wiki to the Edhi Foundation.   1. I just figured I would give my comment. When I went to the site, I see that there is a fair amount of content, but the purpose is not clear to me. Since there wasn't anything on the main page, I tried Peace:Peace Elements:About, but I still do not understand. Puppet Wikia is a database containing pages for Puppet Characters, Performers, Shows, Guest Stars, Builders and Designers. We started December 24th or 25th (depending on your time zone) and in three months gained over 1,000 pages. We have pages about Alf, Swazzle, Captain Kangaroo, Between the Lions and many others. We also have pages on each day of the year and pages starting at 1900 to present.

The Warriors Wiki is a wiki about the popular Warrior Cats series by Erin Hunter. It currently has over 300 pages, but many of them are stubs. We were recently accepted to be put as a Wikia Spotlight, and that will help us a lot. One of the books in the series has recently been nominated for the best book of 2007.
