The Marvel Database Project is the largest online reference of information related to Marvel Comics, similar in nature to the Official Handbooks of the Marvel Universe. For convenience, the site is categorized into several areas of content. The major categories one might select from are Comics, Database Articles, Glossary of Terms or the Image Galleries. Since the project was founded on March 18th, 2005 we have created 20,000 articles and uploaded over 17,000 images! Recently, the Marvel Database Project has internationalized and begun translating its reference into Dutch, Hungarian and Spanish. I would like to nominate our project for the Featured Wikia honour. Our project is one of the newest to Wikia and I believe that by being a featured wikia we can reach a great deal of current Wikia commununity members who might be excited to know there is a Marvel Comics wiki already in progress!

Our project, nearly 2 years old now, makes great use of the MediaWiki software. We have developed an extensive set of templates and stubs which we use to keep our articles to drive our project forward in the most efficient manner. We have learned a lot of tricks-of-the-trade from some of the other great wikis.

Our membership is growing at a very healthy pace and the boost in exposure this would provide should push our wiki to become fully self-sustaining. Some members of our project even help maintain our own news site and forums!

If selected, we might use a blurb similar to below, but we are very open to suggestions!!!
