Memory Alpha
- This wiki was featured October 2005.
![]() Memory Alpha is a comprehensive, reliable and up-to-date encyclopedia that covers information about the Star Trek universe. Despite a stringent canon policy, it has well over 14,000 articles and nearly 11 million page views in its English version alone, making Memory Alpha the largest project hosted by Wikia, the same company which hosts Wikicities. Because it is released under the Creative Commons license, however, Memory Alpha is considered a sister project of Wikicities. Memory Alpha has a regular Article of the Week selected from among its featured articles as well as a rich set of templates, comprehensive timelines from both the in-universe and behind-the-scenes perspectives, a Reference Desk for general questions related to Star Trek and a dedicated group of Archivists. It has recently begun to cover Trek-related things, such as parodies, as well. Memory Alpha is currently available in English, German, Dutch and Swedish. A Polish version was once planned but never came to fruition. Memory Alpha, the community portal: Ten Forward, details and comments, nominate another featured wiki,

I've been contributing to this one for a couple of weeks and I think it's extremely thorough and comprehensive. According to the Wikicities stats, it is the largest and particularly in terms of page requests with only Uncyclopedia (which is essentially nonsense) coming close at 2/3 the traffic and the next closest being the Star Wars wiki at 1/3 the traffic. It is approaching 13,000 articles and has a weekly featured article, as well as a very friendly community that encourages newcomers. All things considered, I think it's one of the best examples of what teamwork can do. --Schrei 19:34, 20 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Huge Suppot By far the largest and most comprehensive of the Wikis. It has admazing detail about every aspect of the Star Trek Universe. It is also incredibly close to becoming a fully complete Wiki. (Meaning that I convers every fact ever mentioned in the Trek Universe, no matter how obscure) I don't think that even Wikipedia Enlgish can say that. Tobyk7777 00:57, 2 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- I have had to use this wiki a few times to help get info to expand Wikifur. The size is great, the layout so unique. It's a wiki where the users really care! MelSkunk 15:30, 4 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- Its definitely a great site, but it's technically a sister project even if it's linked to/from here and included in the Wiki list. Is it inelligible? -Coke 00:56, 11 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- I didn't know the part about it being a sister project when I nominated it, but the idea of Wikicities as I understand it is that every Wiki here will (ideally) reach MA's level of quality and quasi-independence some day. It just got a head start. :) --Schrei 08:24, 11 Sep 2005 (UTC)
