  • [11:56:37] <Skizzerz> >_>
  • [11:56:38] * Joins: Richard1990
  • [11:56:42] <Charitwo> hey richard
  • [11:56:47] * Churchreborn47 is now known as Churchreborn
  • [11:56:57] <Skizzerz> I want to yell at him for removing the infinite option from the Blockip dropdown
  • [11:57:06] * Kodia|afk is now known as Kodia
  • [11:57:08] <Kodia> back
  • [11:57:12] <Wall_cat> yeah, charwito had to help me add that back
  • [11:57:21] <Charitwo> we talked about that yesterday actually (kirkburn and I)
  • [11:57:34] <DuTempete> Kirkburn is afk
  • [11:57:44] <Skizzerz> I could poke a janitor to just delete the page to set it back to default, but none of them want to do it because they don't want to get de-janitored
  • [11:58:15] <Skizzerz> anyway, back to gaming?
  • [11:58:21] <Charitwo> Skizzerz: apparently BillK told him to do it, thats why
  • [11:58:28] <Skizzerz> billk fails
  • [11:58:44] <KyleH`> You can still type infinite manually in to the box; it has just been removed from the list.
  • [11:58:57] <Charitwo> anyway, for those who still want it can adjust MediaWiki:Ipboptions locallly
  • [11:58:59] <Kirkburn> Skizzerz, perhaps you want to hear, rather than going off on a rant?
  • [11:59:02] <PanSola> infinite IP bans aren't really justified
  • [11:59:04] <Skizzerz> \o/
  • [11:59:09] <Skizzerz> Kirkburn: please explain then
  • [11:59:32] <Skizzerz> PanSola: same message is used for blocked registered users for the drop-down
  • [11:59:34] <Kirkburn> 1 year is well enough for a ban, as anything beyond that is really meaningless ... however, the option is there is you /must/, as you can type "infinite"
  • [11:59:38] <PanSola> true
  • [11:59:47] <Kirkburn> Especially with IPs, you run the risk of banning people completely unrelated
  • [11:59:51] <Skizzerz> true
  • [12:00:00] <Wall_cat> yeah, IPs I never ban more then 6 months
  • [12:00:05] <Kirkburn> Even with users, 1 year is well enough
  • [12:00:07] <PanSola> if only we can get separate dropdowns for logged-in vs IPs
  • [12:00:16] <Skizzerz> PanSola: great idea, actually
  • [12:00:19] <PanSola> time for self introductions!
  • [12:00:23] <Skizzerz> I'll poke brion about it later
  • [12:00:29] * PanSola is from GuildWiki (Guild Wars), and happens to be an admin there
  • [12:00:30] <Kirkburn> You aren't even supposed to be able to ban IPs for longer thana year
  • [12:00:30] * Joins: Azul81677
  • [12:00:42] <Charitwo> i told kirkburn about wikipedia's anontalkpage text, he said he'd suggest it
  • [12:01:02] <Manticore> Kirkburn, did you know that you must set to "other" for infinite to work in input box?
  • [12:01:03] * Wall_cat , aka Tesfan, is a sysop @ RuneScape wiki and a 'crat at kongregate wiki
  • [12:01:09] * Ryan_Taylor is from many places, some admin on, and he recently adopted the Need For Speed Wiki
  • [12:01:09] <Skizzerz> Kirkburn: but that still doesn't change the fact that BillK fails ;)
  • [12:01:20] * DuTempete is a user at WoWWiki
  • [12:01:21] * Kirkburn ignores that
  • [12:01:23] * Charitwo is a sysop from FFXIclopedia and I poke around various gaming wikis
  • [12:01:39] * Kirkburn hugs DuTempete
  • [12:01:43] * Kodia is from EQ2i, the EverQuest2 Wiki, and is the senior admin there.
  • [12:01:45] <Azul81677> intros? okay
  • [12:01:45] * Ryan_Taylor originated from Illogicopedia
  • [12:01:47] * DuTempete hugs Kirkburn
  • [12:01:48] <Kirkburn> Kirkburn is playing San Andreas, but is also from WoWWiki
  • [12:01:51] * Richard1990 is a Wikia Gaming Helper
  • [12:01:55] * Azzt|MutantFish is a user from from Wookieepedia, also associated with RSwiki and Halopedia.
  • [12:01:58] * Skizzerz is a sysop at Egamia/Gaming (it's so confusing now, what is what?!), and the adopter of the MTG Wiki
  • [12:02:01] * KyleH` is from Wikia Gaming
  • [12:02:07] * Azul81677 is a moderator at the Final Fantasy Wiki and a Sysop at the Kingdom Hearts Wiki
  • [12:02:18] * Ryan_Taylor adopted the SimCity wiki
  • [12:02:22] <DuTempete> So, Skizzers... not a helper or janitor?
  • [12:02:22] * Manticore is from Halopedia and is a Wikia Janitor etc.
  • [12:02:28] <Skizzerz> DuTempete: me? no
  • [12:02:33] * Azzt|MutantFish reminds himself to go edit the MTG wiki >_>
  • [12:02:36] <DuTempete> Interesting ;)
  • [12:02:38] <Skizzerz> o, I'm a Central sysop too
  • [12:02:41] <Manticore> Skizzerz is teh central adomomnin
  • [12:02:47] <Kirkburn> Manticore, I still don't see bans of more than a year as useful except in extreme circumstances, IP or not ... and tbh, neither do most of Wikia
  • [12:03:41] <PanSola> Kirkburn: for non-IPs, there are offsensive usernames to consider
  • [12:03:43] <Manticore> Kirkburn, I understand the reasoning, but I really doubt that on the off chance a FUCK ANGELA BEESLEY user came back in a year that you'd be singing the same tune
  • [12:04:02] <Kirkburn> Would /you/ remember in a years time?
  • [12:04:05] * Ose is from wowwiki
  • [12:04:10] * Ose is late
  • [12:04:11] <Kirkburn> You'd have to remember the password /and/ specific name
  • [12:04:14] <PanSola> hehe Ose
  • [12:04:18] <Kodia> EQ2i has users that have done that, Kirkburn.
  • [12:04:22] * DuTempete still loves Ose
  • [12:04:29] <Ose> :)
  • [12:04:37] <DuTempete> but not that much
  • [12:04:47] <PanSola> so, while we are on the subject, for individual wikis that want to change their ban duration dropdown menu
  • [12:04:50] <Kirkburn> Banning offensive usernames doesn't make them disappear, they're still going to be on the userlist either way. 1 year is a long time.
  • [12:04:55] <PanSola> Kirkburn you wanna cover how tod o that?
  • [12:05:00] <Kirkburn> Not really :)
  • [12:05:02] <DuTempete> hehe
  • [12:05:21] * DuTempete pokes Kirkburn's tummy to make him giggle.
  • [12:05:25] <Azzt|MutantFish> change the username
  • [12:05:32] <Skizzerz> PanSola: Edit MediaWiki:Ipboptions and add ",infinite:infinite" to the end right after the 1 year bit (no quotes)
  • [12:05:38] <Wall_cat> I don't see why you would ban for one year =/
  • [12:05:38] <PanSola> MediaWiki:Ipboptions
  • [12:05:48] <Wall_cat> "They'd have to remember the password /and/ specific name
  • [12:06:08] <Azzt|MutantFish> change the name to 'user00' (01, 02, etc) and infiniban
  • [12:06:09] <Azzt|MutantFish> easier
  • [12:06:19] <Manticore> Azzt|MutantFish, no renames @ wikia
  • [12:06:21] <Kirkburn> Username changes aren't possible
  • [12:06:24] <Azzt|MutantFish> bah
  • [12:06:27] <Azzt|MutantFish> silly peoples
  • [12:06:31] <Azzt|MutantFish> make it possiblw
  • [12:06:31] <Wall_cat> heh
  • [12:06:34] <Azzt|MutantFish> *possible
  • [12:06:35] <Skizzerz> Kirkburn: sure they are
  • [12:06:47] <Charitwo> but it's heavily taxing
  • [12:06:49] <Ryan_Taylor> On that topic, a renameuser function would be good
  • [12:07:00] <Manticore> Ryan_Taylor, never going to happen
  • [12:07:05] <Azzt|MutantFish> no
  • [12:07:12] * Ose wonders why picture thumbnails on http://www.wowwiki.com/Template_talk:User_exalted still don't show
  • [12:07:15] <Azzt|MutantFish> it'd only be for changing offensive usernames
  • [12:07:16] <Ryan_Taylor> Manticore: Why?
  • [12:07:17] <Kirkburn> Remember that a username change would affect all wikis
  • [12:07:18] <Skizzerz> techs can change usernames by running a SQL query on the user database
  • [12:07:20] <Azzt|MutantFish> as prep for infiniban
  • [12:07:29] <PanSola> Ose: how long has it been broken?
  • [12:07:30] <Kirkburn> Skizzerz, feasible, then
  • [12:07:35] <Ose> ages
  • [12:07:41] <Ryan_Taylor> Well, it'd come in handy with offensive usernames
  • [12:07:47] <PanSola> Azz if you change it, then others can recreate the offensive name
  • [12:07:48] * clv309 is now known as ChristineV_
  • [12:07:50] <Manticore> Ryan_Taylor, because a) there's the server implications to consider, and b) the trustworthiness of the person who uses the tool
  • [12:07:57] <Skizzerz> most offensive usernames never edit
  • [12:07:57] <Ose> and I told you, among other people, ages ago
  • [12:08:10] <Manticore> all it boils down to is that it'll never be available to $randomwikisysop
  • [12:08:28] <Ryan_Taylor> Manticore: Yes, but it is still possible, anyways I've made my point so thats all
  • [12:08:30] <Charitwo> A feasible alternative would be to create a working username creation blacklist and a username creation character limit
  • [12:08:39] <Ryan_Taylor> yes
  • [12:08:42] <PanSola> Ose: i know you've reported it before. But how long total has the image problem been around?
  • [12:08:43] <Skizzerz> Charitwo: already bugged Angela about that to no avail
  • [12:08:53] <Charitwo> Skizzerz: angela is the wrong person to ask
  • [12:08:58] <PanSola> a username regex blacklist exists I think
  • [12:09:02] <Skizzerz> fine, I'll bug JohnQ
  • [12:09:12] <Ose> I first saw it the day I reported it, I think
  • [12:09:17] <Charitwo> PanSola: it does, but it doesn't work right
  • [12:09:19] <PanSola> Ose: ok
  • [12:09:33] <Manticore> we can use regexblock to limit username length
  • [12:09:53] <Skizzerz> the username blacklist extension works perfectly fine, it just needs to be installed
  • [12:10:22] <Charitwo> Will it work globally for Wikia's use?
  • [12:10:28] <Skizzerz> as for max limit on the username, there already is a config variable for that
  • [12:10:38] <Skizzerz> just needs to be set
  • [12:10:49] <Ryan_Taylor> There should be an option to edit a seperate username blacklist on all wikis, like an individual one including all the names on the "main" blaclist
  • [12:10:55] <Ryan_Taylor> *blacklist
  • [12:10:55] * Quits: Azul81677
  • [12:11:29] <Skizzerz> Ryan_Taylor: because user db is shared. you can't just register for one Wikia and not the other 5000
  • [12:11:31] * Joins: GlacierWolf
  • [12:11:37] <Ose> *cough*f***angela*cough*?
  • [12:11:38] <Charitwo> So, moving on, PanSola wanted to talk about the Gaming/Egamia merging updates
  • [12:11:56] <Skizzerz> sure
  • [12:11:58] <PanSola> actually I want to see if anyone else have anything they want to bring up
  • [12:12:03] <PanSola> issues/questions/concerns/news
  • [12:12:10] <PanSola> *first*
  • [12:12:10] <GlacierWolf> Yes, Sorry I'm late.
  • [12:12:17] <PanSola> hi GlacierWolf (-:
  • [12:12:25] <Ryan_Taylor> Skizzerz: I mean the admins at wikis should be able to add bad usernames that concern their wiki
  • [12:12:29] <Charitwo> Well, FFXIclopedia is going to be adapting a small portion of what Halopedia has
  • [12:12:31] <DuTempete> hi GlacierWolf :)
  • [12:12:39] <Skizzerz> Ryan_Taylor: we'll talk about it after the meeting is over
  • [12:12:45] <GlacierWolf> Hi PanSola and DuTempete.
  • [12:12:46] <Ryan_Taylor> Skizzerz: oki
  • [12:12:48] <Ryan_Taylor> *ok
  • [12:12:58] <Wall_cat> Charwito: Really?
  • [12:13:14] <DuTempete> My stuff is still in progress, PanSola... so little time, so much to do :P
  • [12:13:19] <Charitwo> Wall_cat: yes, we've limited it to our needs, it should be as bad
  • [12:13:27] <Skizzerz> PanSola: question: do you have any idea where the old gaming hub went or is it lost forever?
  • [12:13:28] <PanSola> DuTempete: heh alright
  • [12:13:28] <Charitwo> shouldnt*
  • [12:13:45] <KyleH`> Skizzerz, it's not lost
  • [12:13:46] <PanSola> Skizzerz: gaming hub? it's still at www.wikia.com/wiki/Gaming
  • [12:13:51] <Kirkburn> I made my first (I think) OpEd :) http://www.wikia.com/wiki/OpEd:Gaming_wiki_tips#.251
  • [12:13:56] <Skizzerz> er, the gaming wikia
  • [12:14:02] <PanSola> oh the megazine
  • [12:14:15] <Skizzerz> KyleH`: I was saying that since gaming.wikia now leads to the Enyclopedia Gamia
  • [12:14:18] <PanSola> um probably soemthing like old.gaming.wikia.com if it uses normal wikia naming conventions
  • [12:14:32] <KyleH`> We're moving things around ... we're temporarily moving it to gamingarchive.wikia.com
  • [12:14:42] <Charitwo> oh that answers than then
  • [12:14:54] <KyleH`> ... but right now the move is glitched so neither gamingarchive.wikia.com or gaming.wikia.com are working properly
  • [12:15:22] <Skizzerz> gaming.wikia appears to be working fine for me
  • [12:15:31] <PanSola> no Monaco skin
  • [12:15:35] <KyleH`> The goal is to eventually take relevant parts of gamingarchive.wikia.com and merge it back in to gaming.wikia.com
  • [12:15:47] <PanSola> it's on 1.10 alpha, not 1.12 )-:
  • [12:16:00] <KyleH`> gaming.wikia.com is running on MW 1.10, so no Monaco and there are some other glitches
  • [12:16:08] <Charitwo> PanSola: i've heard hints at moving wikia to 1.12 final
  • [12:16:12] <KyleH`> .. we're working to fix that
  • [12:16:13] <Skizzerz> also, I'm guessing gaming.wikia is going to eventually get back the social tools?
  • [12:16:30] <Kirkburn> Yes, 1.12 final is planned, of course
  • [12:16:41] <Charitwo> sooner than later anyway
  • [12:16:42] <Kirkburn> However, many factors will determine how soon that occurs
  • [12:17:13] <KyleH`> Some of them, yes. We're going to be looking for the community's input on what they want and what they don't want.
  • [12:17:14] <Kirkburn> Gamewikis and WoWWiki are still in the upgrade stage
  • [12:17:24] <Skizzerz> (speaking of which, many updates/bugfixes have been made to them since Wikia released them publicly, so I'd recommend grabbing it from the MediaWiki subversion and putting it on a test wiki to see if the upgrades are worth it)
  • [12:18:39] <GlacierWolf> Will Bureaucrats be able to use Special:UserRights? Ifso, will bureaucrats finally be able to give bot flags?
  • [12:19:05] <Charitwo> GlacierWolf: as far as giving, perhaps. removing, no.
  • [12:19:07] <Kirkburn> No, but bot flagging has been suggested, afaik
  • [12:19:31] <Wall_cat> Will 'crats be able to give fourmadmin status?
  • [12:19:47] <Ryan_Taylor> Special:UserRights is a much easier rights management page if you ask me
  • [12:19:57] <Skizzerz> indeed
  • [12:19:59] <Charitwo> some of wikias wikis have custom usergroups, along with forum admin and the new social groups. And the $wgAddGroups would be beneficial to that
  • [12:20:08] <GlacierWolf> Charitwo: Why do you think that Bureaucrats won't be able to remove bot flags?
  • [12:20:10] <Skizzerz> but it requires 1.12, which not all wikis have
  • [12:20:30] <Kirkburn> Userrights is good, but it also gives you control over things you shouldn't get control over
  • [12:20:50] <Charitwo> Kirkburn: it's customizable though, so it can be restricted to Wikia's needs
  • [12:20:53] <PanSola> by "you" Kirkburn means "random founders of wikis in general"
  • [12:21:05] <Kirkburn> Aye
  • [12:21:05] <Ryan_Taylor> You could modify it (and I know that isn't as easy as it sounds...)
  • [12:21:16] <Charitwo> actually it is as easy as it sounds
  • [12:21:43] <Kirkburn> WoWWiki has a bot flagging extension, so I didn't even realise others didn't have it :)
  • [12:22:04] <Ryan_Taylor> Well, I've only modified an extension once, and my experience was that it was fairly difficult
  • [12:22:05] <Charitwo> WoWWiki also has unrestricted userrights for local bureaucrats
  • [12:22:14] <Skizzerz> Ryan_Taylor: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$wgAddGroups and http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$wgRemoveGroups
  • [12:22:19] <Skizzerz> not an extension
  • [12:22:30] <Ryan_Taylor> Yeah, thats what I mean ;)
  • [12:22:38] <Ryan_Taylor> I get the two confused
  • [12:22:41] <Kirkburn> Charitwo, correct, but only so I can add "patrollers" (until we get something better sorted out)
  • [12:23:17] <Charitwo> like $wgAddGroups
  • [12:24:16] <Charitwo> that's what I was hinting at anyway ;)
  • [12:24:22] <Kirkburn> I'm sure the way the shared db works, it's not as easy as all that :P
  • [12:24:26] <Charitwo> you work in the office, poke the people!
  • [12:24:39] <Kirkburn> I don't, actually, I work from home :)
  • [12:25:07] <Charitwo> oops, then who was i thinking of, maybe sannse was referring to you in the office during SXSW
  • [12:25:25] <Kirkburn> Yeah, I was there a few weeks ago
  • [12:25:47] <Kirkburn> And you should be poking sannse, not me, really :P
  • [12:26:05] * Quits: PinkyBot
  • [12:26:07] * Azzt|MutantFish pokes Kirkburn with a Charitwo
  • [12:26:09] <Kirkburn> I'll still see what I can find out though
  • [12:26:09] <Charitwo> that was easier before she went back to England, i never see her online anymore
  • [12:26:22] <KyleH`> So ... we talked about gaming.wikia.com a few minutes ago ... we're getting pretty close to being able to launch it as a replacement for the gaming hub.
  • [12:26:22] * Halo_3 is now known as Halo_3|Halo3
  • [12:26:32] * Kirkburn dances
  • [12:26:47] <Charitwo> i eagerly await to see the finished product
  • [12:26:55] * Quits: GlacierWolf
  • [12:27:00] <KyleH`> Right now the homepage looks like it'll be pretty similar, but we're also creating portal pages for different gaming genres ... that's where most of the links to individual wikis will be housed
  • [12:27:03] <PanSola> or, you can HELP the product to finish faster d-:
  • [12:27:06] * DuTempete dances
  • [12:27:14] <KyleH`> There will never truly be a finished product ;P
  • [12:27:17] <Charitwo> PanSola: let me know what i can do to help :)
  • [12:27:50] <KyleH`> You can take a look at the work-in-progress here: http://gaming.wikia.com/wiki/Wikia_Gaming (please excuse the skin)
  • [12:28:08] <KyleH`> What we really need help with now is filling out the portal pages linked at the top of the page
  • [12:28:19] * Kirkburn excuses the skin
  • [12:28:53] * Joins: GlacierWolf
  • [12:29:04] <PanSola> wb GlacierWolf
  • [12:29:04] <KyleH`> Some people have been working on the Racing page and filling in a few links. If any of you have time, I encourage you to dig in ... especially make sure that your wikis are represented in the wiki links
  • [12:29:19] <PanSola> hehe speaking of the devil (-:
  • [12:29:23] <Kirkburn> News and Politics ... how much offwiki linking would be okay? For that page, using RSS feeds from Gamepolitics.com would be pretty cool
  • [12:29:54] <GlacierWolf> :)
  • [12:30:02] * Kirkburn wants RSS enabled on WoWWiki again :(
  • [12:30:08] <Kirkburn> Okay, gotta go for dinner now
  • [12:30:13] <Kirkburn> Back in a short while
  • [12:30:22] <KyleH`> Kirkburn, whatever you think would be best ... I think RSS feeds would be great
  • [12:30:32] <GlacierWolf> Kirkburn: Later. :)
  • [12:30:39] <Kodia> I would guarantee fresh content, that's certain.
  • [12:30:46] <Kodia> i=it
  • [12:30:49] <Charitwo> FFXIclopedia uses RSS to report news from PlayOnline in the WikiPageinWidget widget
  • [12:31:04] <Kodia> link, Chari?
  • [12:32:21] <Charitwo> http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/index.php?title=Special%3AAllpages&from=Widget&namespace=8 its one of the latter two, i forget which >_<
  • [12:32:31] <Kodia> thankyou
  • [12:32:37] <Charitwo> i dont want to test and screw up caching
  • [12:32:53] <KyleH`> That looks pretty cool
  • [12:33:39] <PanSola> anyways, so if people can help with the portals of games they are familiar with
  • [12:33:43] <PanSola> there's one with MMO
  • [12:33:45] <PanSola> one for FPS
  • [12:33:53] <PanSola> GlacierWolf and others are already working on Racing
  • [12:34:07] <PanSola> that'd be really cool
  • [12:34:35] <Charitwo> i'll put the MMO portal on my todo list
  • [12:34:40] <KyleH`> Feel free to change the format around a little too if you have any ideas. I think that they should be somewhat consistent with each other, but they odn't have to be exactly the same
  • [12:34:48] <KyleH`> don't*
  • [12:34:54] <PanSola> not just listing wikis, but also think about what you can put on the portals that would attract ppl's interest/attention
  • [12:35:53] * Joins: sannse
  • [12:35:57] <Charitwo> hi sannse
  • [12:36:02] <Skizzerz> sannse :D
  • [12:36:05] <Kodia> speak of the devil and she shall appear
  • [12:36:12] <PanSola> it's a sannse!!
  • [12:36:13] <sannse> heyhey
  • [12:36:22] * sannse dannses here too
  • [12:36:26] <KyleH`> Hola
  • [12:36:41] <Kirkburn> Britons, form attack positions!
  • [12:36:52] <Skizzerz> elipses
  • [12:36:53] <Charitwo> sannse: we were talking about enabling $wgAddGroups on Wikia earlier and your name came up
  • [12:37:02] <KyleH`> There's a joke to be made there, Kirkburn, I just can't put my hand on it
  • [12:37:12] * Quits: Azzt MutantFish
  • [12:37:12] <Kirkburn> Skizzerz, unfortunately an ellipse with two people would be quite hard :(
  • [12:37:34] <Skizzerz> Kirkburn: elipses (not sure if I spelled that right) is the word for the "..." character
  • [12:37:37] * Quits: Playsonic2
  • [12:37:43] <Kirkburn> See, especially hard
  • [12:37:48] <Charitwo> sannse: with the wikis out their with custom groups, the new social features groups, and forumadmin. $wgAddGroups would be certainly appropriate for local bureaucrats.
  • [12:37:55] <sannse> Charitwo: that's the one that allows custom changes to what bureaucrats can add?
  • [12:38:08] <sannse> ah, yeah, I talked to Nef about that, I want it
  • [12:38:22] <Charitwo> I hope it's on the to-do list then :)
  • [12:39:01] <sannse> it's on mine, once I have a table of what the situation is now, we can get sorted the future situation, including adding that
  • [12:39:13] <Skizzerz> $wgRemoveGroups, in turn, is what b-crats can revoke
  • [12:39:23] <sannse> *nod*
  • [12:39:27] <Skizzerz> and there is $wgAddToSelf and $wgRemoveFromSelf which allow changing your own groups
  • [12:39:36] <Skizzerz> not sure if that's 1.12 or 1.13 though
  • [12:39:45] <Kirkburn> Bureaucrats do love to hand out and steal candy :)
  • [12:40:10] <Charitwo> i dunno about AddToSelf, but RemoveFromSelf would be useful for people who wish to part the project
  • [12:40:17] <Charitwo> or remove rights they just dont want
  • [12:40:23] * Joins: PinkServ`
  • [12:40:33] <Charitwo> hey who brough a bot in here
  • [12:40:40] <Skizzerz> the only problem with those two is that they aren't group-specific, so any logged-in user can use them
  • [12:40:43] <sannse> yeah, and then they change their mind three minutes later and come to staff to get them to fix their paddy ;)
  • [12:40:52] <Skizzerz> and brion is very adamant about keeping it that way in core
  • [12:40:55] <GlacierWolf> Charitwo: Pinky49, probably.
  • [12:40:58] <Charitwo> sannse: speaking from experience i presume?
  • [12:41:07] <Kirkburn> No one leaves Wikia ... they might think they do ... but then their other wikis join us too :)
  • [12:41:15] <DuTempete> PanSola, you're talking about the portals at gaming.wikia that need updating?
  • [12:41:26] <PanSola> DuTempete yeah
  • [12:41:34] <PanSola> well not "updating", more like "doing"
  • [12:41:35] <DuTempete> kks I'll take a look :)
  • [12:41:39] <DuTempete> lol
  • [12:41:47] <sannse> ChanServ: sorta, because it doesn't exist yet - but I've certainly had people ask for removal of rights in a temper, and then change their mind as the calm
  • [12:41:54] <PanSola> o_O
  • [12:42:23] <GlacierWolf> Charitwo is ChanServ now? I'm confused. :S
  • [12:42:24] <Kirkburn> Threatening to leave a project is a popular pasttime for some
  • [12:42:52] <sannse> gah, nick complete... sorry Charitwo

  • [12:43:02] <Ryan_Taylor> haha

  • [12:44:40] * simo is now known as Ryan_Taylor
  • [12:44:45] * Exodus212 bows
  • [12:45:01] <Charitwo> Kirkburn: the main RC feed will report edits before they actually appear on the wiki, thusly causing diff errors that "dont exist (yet)"
  • [12:45:16] <Exodus212> Me and my friend are currently the only editors.
  • [12:45:23] <KyleH`> The RC feed sees in to the future?

  • [12:55:35] <Charitwo> cometstyles used to, but he left, so he asked me to take over. and his involved bugging someone to update it
  • [12:55:47] <Exodus212> Oh, btw, I am moving to Russia soon.

  • [12:58:10] <Exodus212> Charitwo: XD
  • [12:58:20] <sannse> Bill would probably consider changing it again, but only if it's going to be regularly used... no point otherwise. And it might need to wait until the main page is redisigned again (which is soooo.... needs)
  • [12:58:37] <PanSola> I thought it only died because of the... um... new homepage design

  • [12:59:41] <PanSola> "died" as in interest faded
  • [13:00:06] <Skizzerz> speaking of problemreports, it appears the status images died on gaming.wikia again
  • [13:00:08] <sannse> PanSola: yah, that's a likely cause I think... it wasn't prominant enough for people to care
  • [13:01:00] <KyleH`> Skizzerz, I wouldn't worry about any glitches on gaming.wikia until they get things sorted out ... if it still happens once it's back on MW 1.12, give me a yell
