Wikia - creating communities
Hi everybody,
First escuse my bad english I'm french.
I'm not a user of wikia but just for have on I'v create my account. And I'v forgot to pu my password in the second 'input'. But my account still been registered. I'v retryed without any password and I my account registred too.That's a big security probleme and Mediawiki is not in question that's a wikia bug.
And I'v just see that in some wiki the toolbar is repeat (example)
I hope that bug will be resolve.

- We already know about the toolbar duplication. It's been reported many times, mainly there : Forum:MediaWiki_1.12_upgrade#Other_problems.
- I want to add that the preceeding poster has created a lot of account on wikia :

- We can create account without putting in a password !

- If you create many account because some time has passed and you forgot your password, well that happen. But, there's other possibility that exist and it is called Sockpuppetting.
- And you're point of vue about this not been my business is, well, your point of vue.
- It's my business because of your [disruptives] contributions on some talk pages over at fr.guildwars.
- So i think i'll just go and perma ban every of your accounts there. (Like this will ever prevent you from posting.)
- (And who is acting like a child ? Me or the 17 year old guy with multiple account and no decent contribution on any Wikia ? - As if your age is really relevant...)

This looks like a good point to break up the bickering ;)
Yes, it's possible to choose to use an empty password, but it's not wise to do so! You can also use "password", your username, or your dogs name as your password... also not wise :) We don't block any of these, but you are responsible for your password security and it's strongly recommended that you choose a secure password and keep it safe. -- Testaccount2-1-08-2 19:33, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- That user has said, in french on fr.guildwars, that he doesn't like Wikia at all. So i think he's just searching for anything he can find to say Wikia is bad. Like i said, he has never been contributing to any Wikia in any good way.
- Maybe he's just been a jerk to get me mad like any good troll (or to turn me into one). He's doing like thoses linux peoples who goes on windows forum just to say how windows is bad.
- No big deal. We will take care of it on fr.guildwars.
