Maybe some of you know that Google has a nice feature (formerly known as Google Glossary) that returns definitions for a search term. You just enter e.g. "define:mouse" and you'll get definitions for the term "mouse" which Google found on the Web. Among the results displayed are Wikipedia articles and glossaries from thousands of websites.

Unfortunately no Wikia articles are returned by this particular Google function although many Wikia have good encyclopedic articles, especially on lemmas that have no Wikipedia article and no match elsewhere in the Web. For example, it would be nice if "define:Tigurpaw" returned the article Tigurpaw from WikiFur Wikia, rather than saying "No definitions were found for Tigurpaw."

I heard that Wikia is on good terms with Google. Maybe one of our tech staff could speak to someone from Google's tech staff on how we could get Google to index Wikia articles in their definitions feature? --Spankart 21:20, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
