Wikia - creating communities
Where enabled, interlanguage links can be used to link between the same page in different languages. For instance, the page on "Yoda" in the many different versions of the Star Wars wikis can be connected this way.
Usage
The basic syntax is [[language code:page title]]. For example, the code [[zh:首頁]] creates a link to 首頁, with the link text "中文" ("Chinese" written in Chinese).
Unlike interwiki links, which appear inline, these appear in an "other languages" section whose placement is dependent on the skin. On the Monaco skin, the language links appear in a list below the main toolboxes on the left.
What languages are available depend on the project configuration. For example, on Central Wikia, interlanguage links link to pages of the same "www.wikia.com" domain, and all supported languages can be used; there are a few exceptions which link to central wikis of the corresponding language (ca, de, es, fa, fi, fr, it, ja, ko, nl, pl, ps, pt, ru, zh). On the C++ Wikia, interlanguage links link to pages in different sub-domains, and only English and Polish are available.
To use interlanguage links inline, put a colon before the language code, for example, [[:zh:首頁]].
Note that interlanguage links are not enabled by default on all multilingual Wikia, e.g. the Music Wikia. If you need interlanguage links on your Wikia, please make a request on Central Wikia with the provided tools.
Once the links are setup, pages may need to be resaved before the interlinks will begin working.
