Wikia - creating communities
[edit] Need help on making people Admins
Hi, can anyone tell me how we can make ourselves Admins? We are new to this thing, and our wiki is http://caw.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page. Thank you. --UnknownFreak666 01:54, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
- You can't make yourself an admin (unless you set up the software on your own server). The Staff or someone with Bureaucrat rights must do it for you. When a wiki is started, the founder is usually given Administrator and Bureaucrat rights. The founder can share Admin rights with other productive contributors. Different wikis create their own ways of deciding as a community who should get these rights. If no active contributor is an Admin, decide as a community what you want to do (who should be Admins) and contact a staff member to ask them.
- Sshspooky has Administrator and Bureaucrat rights on your wiki. You don't need to be an admin to contribute. Best wishes! -- CocoaZen 03:05, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Bad Link
The "Wikia:Wikia Helper Group" link is broken - it links to w:c:wikia:Wikiaer Group and it should link to w:c:wikia:Wikia:Helper Group. The odd thing is that on w:c:help:Help:User access levels (the source of the help text) the link points to the right page (it actually points to w:c:wikia:Wikia Helper Group, but that redirects to w:c:wikia:Wikia:Helper Group).
