Not at a Wikicity, but I was (until I decided to leave recently) an admin at this wiki, and I also owned my own wiki for about half a year. «Rainer» 07:58, 5 Dec 2005 (UTC)
Perhaps you could become an admin here so you could change this newsbox yourself, but you'd need to be prepared to do more admin-type work here for that, like checking for vandalism etc. If you want that, feel free to apply on Wikicities:Administrators. Angela (talk) 21:07, 9 Dec 2005 (UTC)

I completely agree. The current phrasing sounds roughly as "Markedt Wikicities - read the terms and choose for your darling" would in English - unlike your suggestion (which is proper German). -- zooloo 18:56, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
Florian K and zooloo, you're absolutely right. Sorry about that, I know German quite well, but I'm not fluent yet so I make mistakes like that sometimes (I'm not the best person to do translation, y'know!). «Rainer» 12:31, 9 Jan 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Chinese new year

I'm experienting with something different this week and giving German and English users a different message. The English message is advertising a job for English speakers, which won't be so relevant on German wikis, whereas the German message is advertising the German language Hunde wiki in celebration of Chinese New Year since it's the Year of the Dog and we don't have an English dog Wikicity.
