OpEd:Gaming wiki tips
Wikia - creating communities
[edit]
Here's some useful tips for a gaming wiki...
- Take in-game screenshots and upload them! On a PC, you can use the "Print Screen/Prt Scr" button - in some games this outputs an image to a screenshot folder, or you may have to go to an image program afterwards, paste the image (it will have been saved to the clipboard) and save that.
- For in-game screenshots, try not to put your character into them all - other people probably won't like it :)
- Research info from sites like Wikipedia (don't forget to say where the info is from!).
- Try not to speculate too much on what an upcoming game might include, especially on the main article about it - try and stick to known info as much as possible. You'll get a much better reputation as an authoritative site that way.
I'm sure there more, but that's just a few for the moment! Kirkburn (talk) 12:18, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
