  2. Wikia exclusively uses the highly scalable, highly internationalized, free/open source, MediaWiki software, which has a multitude of benefits over other wiki engines. Extensions such as hieroglyphics are available to Wikia on request. Extensions such as timelines are installed on all Wikia. See Wikia with extensions.
