[edit] Discussion from Proposed wikis

[edit] Neon Genesis Evangelion

I requested to start a new wikicity of NGE, but it seemed to be rejected because my request information had not been enough. I had re-sent a request email to explain further, but there has not yet been a response. Thus, I feel frustrated. I believe that the wikicity in my plan is not simply a waste of space. I'm now adding up articles in anime wiki but it seems that the admin of that wiki has gone, and there are very few articles. So I think the admin is not being responsible. And that wiki is .... Anyhow I'll create those pages (they're in Chinese), so it don't matter if there's no wiki for me or my pages. I believe that the wiki is valuable for its pages, but not pages are valuable because of the wiki. And of course I have read most important pages on wikicities home about how to create a new wikicity, and the original version of GDFL. So if I get a chance to build up the wikicity, it will never look like the anime wikicity. If Angela or others are interested in this project and don't know Chinese, please see it here. At the same time the wiki is not only my personal show, there are many many NGE fans that are my friends. They can and will contribute to the wiki. So this is just the purpose of wiki. I'm here waiting for a response. --upssdr 06:01, 23 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Why not continue to develop pages about Neon Genesis Evangelion at the existing anime wikicity? JWSchmidt 12:31, 24 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I'm doing that. I think something is not right. There is no note of the GFDL in every pages of anime wiki except those I created. Despite that, admin of that wiki is absent-minded and has disappeared for some length of time--could you urge him to improve his administration? Thanks in advance.--upssdr 10:46, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Sorry, I was promoting Wikipedia in Africa last week and had no internet access at all. I don't understand the problem related to the GFDL you mentioned. Since the anime wiki has been very inactive, I don't see a need to split it off into separate wikis for now. What exactly is the problem with adding your content to that wiki? Angela 21:01, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I see, you are right. There's no need to create a new wiki. You say it's inactive, I want to make it antive but the language.... Hmm, the problem is the LANGUAGE. Though I can write English words, many eva-fans do not. And those pages are in English expect the content I added. That makes it hard to edit pages for Chinese eva-fans. Maybe there should be a Chinese version for anime wiki. If only I'm adding content, anime wiki is still inactive, isn't it? upssdr 02:52, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I know that WikiMac is fairly active and they have a Chinese section. Maybe someone there can help you. JWSchmidt 02:46, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)

You can either change the language to Chinese in your preferences, or request a new version of the anime wiki. Is there a Chinese name that could be used for it or would zh.anime be best? Angela (talk)

I think zh.anime is the best. Still need request? upssdr 14:03, 8 May 2005 (UTC)

I've asked Jason to move the current anime wiki to en.anime and create a new zh.anime. anime.wikicities.com will become a portal linking to the 2 language versions. Angela (talk) 22:54, 8 May 2005 (UTC)

Thank you. I'm about to do it. upssdr 09:52, 12 May 2005 (UTC)
