[edit] Sorted alphabetically . . . sorta
The list appears to be sorted alphabetically, but there are a few items that are out of place. The two I spotted both started with the letter "N" but were nowhere near the N entries. Whatsupwidat? -- Joe L 22:21, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
- They are sorted alphabetically by domain name. In most cases this matches the first letter of the wiki's name, but not always. For example:
- 10. Achaea (achaea.wikicities.com/)
- 11. BiblioAcid (acidhist.wikicities.com)
- 12. Active Worlds (activeworlds.wikicities.com)

[edit] Plural of "wikia"
My Latin is as good as most people's and better than some, but I'm tolerant of people who confuse noun endings. And as a New Zealander whose Maori-language skills are coming along, I'm quite familiar with words that have the same plural as singular. BUT in normal English-language text it can be unnecessarily confusing.
To minimise confusion, I recommend that the plural of "wikia" be "wikias" (and correspondingly when capitalised).

- Sounds like a good idea.
- Agreed on the plural. However, there is another problem. Wikia is the name of the organization that runs this particular collection of wikis. Thus, strictly speaking, there are no "Wikias," but rather "wikis on Wikia" or "Wikia wikis. It doesn't help that some folks have created pages such as "Featured Wikia" and "List of Wikia." I propose that we rename these two pages and try to clarify the difference between Wikia and wikis. Please comment on that here. Michael 17:48, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

What is the policy on Wikia that appear to exist only to promote another site? I.e. they serve no function that is not already served by the target site. Should they be deleted? E.g. Blogsome --Singkong2005 01:43, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

I was bold and created an archive. Please be kind when you yell at me for overstepping my bounds. I graciously acknowledge that I am a mere user and that this action was an administrative task; I do not intend to make a habit of this. As a "newbie", however, I was getting rather confused over all the talk about "wikicities" which, as I understand from reading other material on this site, no longer exists (or, more aptly, has moved). How does one correct the list? "Cats" for example points to en.cats.wikia.com which doesn't exist; but the (zh.) language (?) version of "cats" is in English and does exist (for what little exists of it) at: cats.wikia.com. Respectfully, Zephyrinus 07:01, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

I suggest create a tool to search only in Wikia names and topics (instead show all pages in all wikias that contains a word or group of words. --Hylux 16:11, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
