Wikia - creating communities

Will you incorporate data and crosslink to Wikipedia:WikiProject Pokédex ? --Me at work 13:59, 26 Jan 2005 (PST)

I would expect this wiki to link heavily to the pages at Wikipedia. But, I don't know how well Wikipedians would react to linking the other way. I'd rather not have Wikicities end up on the Spam blacklist. :) Angela 14:23, 26 Jan 2005 (PST)

No, the intent of the project isn't to just link to Wikipedia articles (which I feel don't belong in a general encyclopedia), but to gather more in-depth information on the aspects of Pokemon (In particular, the games, as I feel Pokemon has been scarred with a "kiddy" image by the television show, marketing, and "Ash Ketchum" — but I can't control the content).

I meant it would link to Wikipedia, not that it's only purpose was to link to Wikipedia. Angela 05:08, 20 Mar 2005 (EST)

I kind of abandoned this after doing some work on it, because I spotted Bulbapedia, a Pokémon wiki which rose at almost the same time the Pokémon Wikicity opened. I suppose it is useless having two Pokémon wikis.

I was waiting to see if Bulbapedia would go down, as its host, Bulbagarden, has a record of spontaneously doing so every once in a while, but apparently not. – Jello² 01:44, 12 Dec 2005 (UTC)
