Wikia - creating communities

Shouldn't we add a "why not use wikia" here ? I think I know a reason. A lot of wiki's have password-protected content. I assume we can't do that with Wikia ? If we can, shouldn't that be mentioned here ?

Philip Copeman philip @ pinksoft.co.za here - Met Jimmy at the Digital Freedom conference in Cape Town - Visionary. If I run a Magazine or Wiki on Wikia: 1) Can I link my Own URL directly into my main page? 2) Can I benefit from Advertising revenue using my own ad model Google or otherwise?

Another reason is the Community is always helpful toward new Wikis. User:max2

Fixing the link to center-wik.is on the wiki-node is ok, I hope, dunno what has been going on amongst you. But wiki engines "will forever languish in mediocrity" is not collab, why will they? Tell me why? These are wikis, like Danish and Urdu are languages and like a world where you can say someting like "I love you" in different languages - to use a common example - is richer than a monolingual world. Competion is over since Miles recorded "Bitches Brew", Ward later coded it, using his "horn" and he did well. Peace sisters 'n brothers, wiki-net to all.
