[edit] The Bus

I still haven't figured out what "moon-edit" is, is it like live editing, or a whiteboard? I am confused! Also the transporter room seems to be some kind of strange alternative to the well-defined Tour Bus. --Me at work 14:10, 17 Feb 2005 (GMT)

Moon-edit is a real-time collaborative editor. See http://CommunityWiki.org/MoonEdit

[edit] What is a WikiNode

I'm still not sure I completely understand the idea of WikiNodes. Why do we not just create links between the main pages of wikis? What is a WikiNode meant to look like? Should the node be in the article or project namespace? --Gareth Hughes 13:06, 6 May 2005 (UTC)

  1. For the same reason every page isn't on the front page - it would take up a lot of space! It is not intended to be as public a thing, either; it's more for people who know "the wiki system" to find it easier to find other wikis on related topics. That is also why it has a short description of the wiki - it might be appropriate to put different information on it, as the visitors you get to a wikinode are likely to be different to the ones you get to the front page.
  2. Well, you could make it look like the one here. Or you could make it simpler, like the Creatures Wiki WikiNode. Or add lots of stuff. Or you could not make it at all. It's up to you. :-)
  3. I'd tend to put it in the project namespace, because it's more of a "meta" thing. Might be a good idea to move this one, for that matter.

MattisManzel 13:04, 30 August 2006 (UTC): a while ago, agree. People who know "the wiki system" = people who know that other wikis exist apart from wikipedia and wikia and who concider that there is a possibility to find just as precious information there as in the "inner circle". Shouldn't wikipedia and wikia open up a bit to the fact that they are not everything in wikilandia? It says "the wiki-node links to our neighborhood" on many front-pages of wikis. "Takes too much space", lol. Question is only if on the front-page or in the head.
There is a draft for a system to exchange information about wikis between wikis wikilandia-wide using rss syndication on wiki-met. There is the hive-wiki as a center-wiki for all wiki-hives.

[edit] can't add stikipad

MattisManzel 13:22, 26 August 2006 (UTC): h_ttp://center.stikipad.com is spam filtered, how come?

Because we get a lot of spam from that domain. You can convert the urls using http:tinyurl.com/create.php if you really need to link to that site, but I'd avoid linking to any site which doesn't attempt to control spam originating from it. Angela (talk) 14:09, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
