[edit] "socialization"

I propose changing "Socialization or questions about non-Wikia issues is generally not permitted" to "Socialization or questions about non-Wikia issues is generally not encouraged". We don't actually kick/ban people as soon as they start some chit-chat. We only ask people to stop when some non-help chatting gets overboard. -PanSola 11:28, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

It would be more friendly to say they're encouraged in other channels, like #wikia-social rather than outright trying to stop people chatting, which won't work. :) Angela@Wikia (talk) 12:06, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
We've never had a problem with "chatting" getting in the way of people needing help. Most of the time drop what they're doing and "try to be the first" to answer someones question, right after they "try to be the first to greet". I don't see a reason to abruptly change something that is not a problem and has worked for as long as and probably since before I've been here. Too many "rules" will make people feel controlled and not want to visit the channel at all. --CharitwoTalk 23:05, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
I have to agree with Angela, in that we should re-word it to say that it is encouraged in other channels, and rewording it as per PanSola as well. --Skizzerz talk
