Wikia - creating communities

Jump to: navigation, search

Is it possible to make a mention of http://www.bluwiki.org - here? It is a wikifarm I created to host any wiki - even those not acceptable for wikicities (eg: those too narrow in scope).

Obviously it's possible, but appropriate? I don't know.
There is a wiki directory at WiKi4All. Please see it for other places to start wikis (like those that are not approved here), to find an already existing wiki on a topic you want or to advertise a wiki (including Wikicities). For wikis that are appropriate here, see Start a new Wikicity. --CocoaZen 16:29, 26 Oct 2005 (UTC)
See here for some possible problems with Wiki4All; SwitchWiki isn't perfect, but at least they seem to be reputable. nae'blis (talk) 16:23, 27 Oct 2005 (UTC)
We already link to the list of hosts at wikibooks, so linking this one specifically isn't needed. Angela (talk)

[edit] Licence

It should be possible and preferred to create new 'cities under CC-BY-SA-2.5 & GFDL dual licence due to their incompatibility [and the problems about GFDL]. --Grin 13:05, 13 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Yes, this is exactly the point which is preventing me for applying for a wikicity. I want my wiki to be under CC-BY (or a dual licence with the GFDL). Is there any chance on possibilities for this in the future? Sander (137.120.180.40) 08:49, 26 Oct 2005 (UTC)
I think you can specifically request a different license type, but I might be wrong. You should ask Angela about this. If that's all that's stopping you, I'm sure it's a hurdle that can be overcome. Garrett 14:59, 27 Oct 2005 (UTC)
There's probably no problem with a dual license, but please check with me first. Angela (talk)
What about a wiki with a public domain license? --maru (talk) Contribs 20:35, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
