In response to some name calling and the question of the name "Afrika Burns"

Shwee!............. it really made people take note, perhaps personal issues and political positions are at question. What I fail to see is that the festival is meant to be provocative ,a response to self expression, …..Perhaps “Betty’s Tea Room”[no offence to Betty] is a better name choice.

Somehow I see corporate sponsors lining up to be associated…..with Afrika Burns….not!…..how thrilling.

Yes Afrika Burns, with hate,love,genocide,rhythm,passion and host of other positive and negative qualities.

Perhaps emphasising what we burn with, could help make sense of the focus of the communication. AND the theme is TRIBE…..are we burning them too. Fire is but one process towards catharsis.
