[edit] In other languages...

central pages are able to have this link to to the foreign equivelant of the page... is there a way to get it on other wikias? as in like changing the Monobook or something? cos i'm trying to set them on Residennt Evil to link to the Italian version and vica-verca. --[F] 11:55, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

I've just added this. It doesn't take effect immediately, so it could be a couple of days before you see it working, but when it is, you can link to the Italian version from the English one using [[it:article title]] and link the other way using [[en:article title]]. [edit] Adminship

I tries to make a wiki on a topic, but found there already was one! Too bad it was a real mess and the founder and the admins hadn't been on for a year. It got tagged for adoption, but I have started fixing it up. However there are things only an admin can do, and I cant get promoted because they dont come on. Can you please Promote me? The wiki is The LatterDay Wiki. Please contact me on my talk page there-Matoro183 (Talk) 12:21, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

I've done this. Angela@Wikia (talk)

[edit] Hi, Sorry To Bother You

I was just wondering how I can gain Admin rights on the Stephen King wiki? I erased the adopted sign and have been editing it for a while, and there are currently no other active users on the wiki. I plan to put a link to the wiki on Wikipedia in the future, but I'm not sure who to talk to in order to become an admin, and was hoping you could help me. Please reply on User talk:DrakemasterDrake. Thank you.

I've done this. Angela@Wikia (talk)

[edit] Date formatting

Hi, I'm wondering if there is a way to force the date produced via ~~~~~ and RSS feeds of Recent Changes / Article History to be presented in numerical Asian format (YYYY/MM/DD) so that it can be easily sorted automatically. American format would be a backup second choice (still useful if all the dates are within the same year). The DD/MM/YYYY (currently used by ~~~~~) and YYYY/DD/MM (currently used by <rss>)formats limits automated sorting to dates within the same month for the result to be meaningful, which I find a bit restrictive on a number of occasions. Thanks. -PanSola 23:49, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] CC-by-sa-nc request.

Hi, Angela. I'm the admin of the Yuriban Encyclopedia, and I'd like to get some information regarding putting our Wikia under a CC-by-sa-nc license, in the same fashion as Désencyclopédie. May we have this discussion on my user talk page? Thanks. --Ruriko 12:37, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Impartial mediator for cross-wiki issues

Angela, I don't know if it's just me noticing something that's been on for awhile, or if it's something that's been growing. But I've been starting to see the issues of users having issues with each other (ie: like the Assaulthead or Tyler Waren cases) where 2 groups or a group and a user have an issue with each other without an absolute clear case of, one is a troll and the other is the wiki community. And those end up in disorganized wars on peoples talkpages where people get blocked on one wiki and take the waring to another wiki, and the groups repeat the same issues without any progress to the issue being resolved. It looks like a lot of the staff are busy with other stuff or not on enough to deal with them all. Perhaps a mediator is needed for these types of issues. An impartial user meant to search the two sides comments separating out and finding out what valid points each side is making, and asserting statements like not harassing users outside of the discussion area about the issue. Cause these issues look like they are going nowhere without a mediating figure for them. If you want I would be happy to sort through and act as a mediator for these. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) (tricks) (current topic) Nov 3, 2007 @ 03:03 (UTC)

[edit] Teklogs adoption help

I have decided to adopt Teklogs, in order to edit important stuff like front page news I need the fellowing pages unprotected:

I have pointed out on this Forum what you must do before you can adopt this wiki..--Cometstyles 10:38, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Request to adopt Wikia

Hello there Angela (I'm pretty sure that's your name), There's a Wikia for Metal/Heavy Metal Music but the Sysop (admin,Bereaucrat, whatever) Hasn't been online for over a year, so I requested to make my own. I was advised to try and adopt leadership of the Wikia, and i'm pretty sure you're english, which for communication reasons, makes things easier (My German isn't too good, and my french... *shudder*).

The website I've discussed can be found here:

http://metal.wikia.com

I also would like to take over this wiki because I have made very valuable Contributions to this wiki, which can be viewed here:

http://metal.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Contributions/Napster964

Not surprisingly, I hope you accept my request. Thanks very much, and have a nice day.

Yours Faithfully, Christian/--Napster964

Just start editing it, you can ask for Sysop rights when you have contributed for a few weeks or in an emergency. Tcrow777 Talk | Teklogs 14:46, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
I replied on that wiki. Napster964 is an admin there now. Angela@Wikia (talk) 14:57, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Odyssey Online wiki

Just a note for people following this issue - the wiki has been restarted to clear it from the porn and vandalism left by its previous users. I do believe there is potential for this wiki to be a useful resource for the game, but it needs to be looked after by people who will welcome newcomers and help to ensure this wiki can become a thriving community. For now, there will be no admins, and I have blocked Tyler Warren from editing due to his abuse of admin privileges and offensive behaviour towards other users. I encourage anyone interested in the game to attempt to revive this wiki with great content. Angela@Wikia (talk) 11:34, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Just out of interest, have you regexblocked him? From what I can see of others comments he seems to cause trouble for a few wikis. -- Manticore Talk | Contributions 17:15, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes, I did, after he made this threat to vandalise. Angela@Wikia (talk) 23:56, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Interwiki language links for same project

I mentioned this in my e-mail the other day, but it seems typing, for example, [[de:wiki/Articlename]] would bypass the incorrect linking. However this seems unnecessary considering it doesn't work that way on other wikia projects with multiple languages. Is there a way to toggle it so that it incorporates /wiki automatically? --CharitwoTalk 03:50, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure how to do that, but I'll let Tor know about the problem since he was working on the ffxi import. Angela@Wikia (talk) 04:45, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Reviews Wiki

Hi you see, i wanted a wikia called Reviews Wiki but we already have a wiki on that topic, and that wiki is like a "deserted" wiki. It basically doesn't have much people and the bureucrat hasn't done anything since 2005. Some person said I should ask you if I can have sysop privleges there, so can I? Have you tried changing the date options in your preferences? Does that help? Angela@Wikia (talk) 04:20, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
My user preferences is set to the "2001-01-15T16:12:34" format (5th choice). However, that is having no effect on the dates for the Recent Changes or Article History from the rss2wiki extension feed, nor on the 4/5 -squigelys (~~~~~). PanSola 19:13, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
I changed to that option in my preferences and now I see dates like 2007-10-31 in recent changes and 2006-09-25T05:06:55 in page histories. This is not consistent with what Wikimedia's help pages claim that option will do. Angela@Wikia (talk) 05:30, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Impartial mediator for cross-wiki issues

Well, of course that is what a single wiki would do. I'm not going into that. But what I was thinking of was one for when 5 or so people from 3 or so wiki come here. Some from one wiki, others from another, and one of them possibly even administrating another wiki. And have a long repetitive debate about one of them causing issues on other wiki. ie: Being blocked on one or two, and then blocking the blockers on their own wiki, and such. The issues where a single wiki can't handle it because the issue isn't part of the wiki. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) (tricks) (current topic) Nov 4, 2007 @ 20:12 (UTC)

Do you mean there should be a central group of mediators for all wikis, or something else? Angela@Wikia (talk) 03:26, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Well, I suppose at least one or two users to mediate when groups come to central to deal with users who are a problem on multiple wiki. It's just there is no-one but staff for that, and the discussions loop to fast and keep repeating the same issues in ways that can cause noticeable issues around Wikia, even before a staff member can get to dealing with it. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) (tricks) (current topic) Nov 8, 2007 @ 16:40 (UTC)

[edit] Hey

I am a recently sysopped user from RuneScape Wiki (you may remember me from the Odyssy Online Wiki fiasco), and I would like you to know that ChristineV has stepped over the line for flaming and personal attacks. She is a VERY valuable user, but I am sick and tired of her rudeness and perpetual shortness with other users. Just wanted you to know that. --Stinkowing 22:52, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Does that wiki have a no personal attacks policy? Perhaps something like that would help. Angela@Wikia (talk) 03:26, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
That would help, but I've got another dilemma: If you remember back to a de-sysopped RSWikian named Shadowdancer, you'll know that he abused his temporary sysop powers-thus the removal. He is back now under the name Planeshifted (he hasn't said that he's Shadowdancer, but Christine and the community know he is). He is stirring up arguements like he used to, and I've blocked him for flaming me. The worst part is that Christine seems to support him, basing her support on personal things, instead of his attitude. Please help me!--Stinkowing 00:20, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
it's better to let a neutral third party do the block but edits like this aren't acceptable from any user, and if there's already a policy against this, there needs to be one. Angela@Wikia (talk) 02:38, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Blacklist title list

From what I've experienced in the past, the entries don't get updated immediately. When I added Viewforum.php, it only blocked the page the next day. GHe (Talk) 01:07, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

The user is still going. Should I keep an eye on it, delete, and make local blacklists where applicable? GHe (Talk) 01:41, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes, a local blacklist page is useful anyway, even if the cross-wiki one starts working tomorrow. I'll also keep checking for existence of that page across the wikis today. Angela@Wikia (talk) 01:45, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Angela, can CheckUser get a list of all the Sockpuppets that Assaulthead made? Every time we blacklist one he just goes to the talkpage of another one of his Sockpuppets. It would be nice to pre-protect the rest of them. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) (tricks) (current topic) Nov 10, 2007 @ 01:58 (UTC)

[edit] Software bug

I know you're not a techy, but I don't know who else to poke. On Halopedia, Template:Title doesn't work anymore, so I looked at all the JS errors, and I found this:

Error: oElm has no properties
Source File: http://images.wikia.com/common/skins/quartz/js/allinone.js?9
Line: 4

Template:Title works on several other Wikia, where I don't get that error; if you could poke a tech (and maybe gimme a couple names so I can poke them directly, if you please), that would be mucho appreciatedo. Thanks! =D --NOTASTAFF GPT(talk)(eating) 06:14, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rename Jean-Baptiste Martin jbm.schtuff.com

Could you please rename my user name as it was done for my user names in wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Jbm747 and http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utilisateur:Jbm747). It was done to remove the site name (not in conformance with wiki conventions, and this site doesn't exist anymore) and to setup a short name (wiki convention). Would you have the possibility to rename it would be fine. Note that I renamed my user page into "Utilisateur:Jean-Baptiste Martin jbm747.blogspot.com" before learning this wiki conventions. (I'm administrator of the wikihowto French version http://fr.howto.wikia.com that you created). --Jean-Baptiste Martin jbm.schtuff.com 21:01, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Profit sharing?

  • Does Wikia currently offer or plan to offer in the future profit sharing on advertisements on wikis that it hosts? Or the ability to place custom Google ads on a wiki? --69.90.216.70 06:16, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Usually not. We did try that with Openserving but it wasn't a success. Revenue sharing didn't motivate anyone to create a decent wiki, so instead we're focusing on using the revenue (there's no profit yet) to improve the wikis and ensure they do have a chance of being successful. Angela@Wikia (talk) 11:47, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RSS Feeds - Can we make our own?

Hi Angela,

Is it possible to create your own RSS feed on a wiki that others can subscribe too? If so, can you link me an example or details of it? If not, can this be considered for implementation?

Daworm  talk / cont  06:52, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
After a bit of a chat to Cometstyles. I think I should clarify. I'm looking to set up the news page on http://aoc.wikia.com/wiki/News to be an RSS feed. Is that possible?
Daworm  talk / cont  10:31, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Ok, ANOTHER update. Ended up finding this extension. Is there any chance of implementing this specifically? It seems the easiest to configure / use on a client end ?
Daworm  talk / cont  11:23, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
This is something we're looking into, but it might not happen for a while yet. Angela@Wikia (talk)

[edit] A simple graph

Hi, Angela. Can you show me how to put up a very simple graph. I've seen them commonly being grey. PitchBlack696 01:59, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Okay, i mustve said that wrong. Go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eminem

  • and go to the filmography section, thats what i meant. PitchBlack696 10:56, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Hmm. If I put the table from the Eminem page, this is what I get:

2007 (UTC)

Year Title Character Role
2000 Da Hip Hop Witch Himself Cameo
2001 The Wash Chris Supporting
2002 8 Mile Jimmy "B-Rabbit" Smith Lead
2008 Have Gun — Will Travel Paladin Lead

How come theres no lines nor background color???? PitchBlack696 20:20, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Can you set something like that up then?? It would be very useful. I'm the admin at the Monster Hunter Wiki. PitchBlack696 02:38, 9 November

Angela, can you please add that code to see lines and background color in the Monster Hunter Wiki? PitchBlack696 23:58, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Odyssey Online Wiki

As you've probably seen I've been working on the Odyssey Online Wiki. I actually downloaded the game just to be able to make the first starting article. But I've actually kept it and have started playing the game a bit. Guess I'd like to adopt it. ^_^ This'll make 2 non-animanga wiki I've adopted. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) (tricks) (current topic) Nov 8, 2007 @ 05:24 (UTC)

Also, 65.93.56.30 needs to be blocked on the Odyssey Online Wiki, it's another user threatening to vandalize. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) (tricks) (current topic) Nov 8, 2007 @ 16:45 (UTC)

That's also Tyler Warren. He used that nickname on us, too. --Stinkowing 16:54, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Ok, it's probably a long shot... But can CheckUser be enabled for a user on a single wiki? This is one of the rare cases where having an admin on a wiki who has CheckUser privileges would be a good idea to deal with big vandals. At any rate, I'd at least like to adopt the wiki. Sysop at least, and Bureaucrat. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) (tricks) (current topic) Nov 8, 2007 @ 18:29 (UTC)

Ok, no CheckUser. But I'd still like to adopt the wiki. I definitely need sysop, there's going to be a lot of proxy blocking as you'll see in your talkpage history, Bureaucrat is good to. I think I'll add some site JS that ads a "Check Proxy" link beside the rc block link for those of us with the blocking powers. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) (tricks) (current topic) Nov 9, 2007 @ 05:02 (UTC)
Ok, looks like the tool for checking proxys won't work. Guess we'll just stick to a ban on every IP which is from a user with the soul intent of vandalizing the wiki. Though if it grows to much, keep tweaking the settings of the wiki to disable anon editing a possible consideration. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) (tricks) (current topic) Nov 9, 2007 @ 05:34 (UTC)

[edit] The Office Wiki/Dunderpedia

Angela, when I initially created The Office wiki page, I titled it "The Office Wiki" though I want to officially change to title to "Dunderpedia" or maybe "Dunderpedia: The Office Wiki". How do I go about doing this? DaHumorist 21:35, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

  • I am receiving help from user Sannse, so nevermind. Thanks anyway. DaHumorist 21:59, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sailor Moon Wiki

^_^ Got another one of my co-adoptions after all this time. T_T But Splarka is gone and Sannse has doctors orders so you're the only one left familiar with my co-adoption of wiki when someone wants to work on a wiki as part of Wikia ACG but isn't up to being the admin.

Katie5000 wants me to adopt the Sailor Moon Wiki. ^_^ She actually got the Wikipedia copying right strait off the bat, so she's probably one of the best editors that's come along to the Animepedia.

I still have the Sysop tag on the wiki from my past work reverting big vandalism there, Bureaucrat could be a nice flag, but AnimeBot definitely needs a Bot flag. And if you don't give me Bureaucrat to do it myself then AnimeBotSys will need a Sysop flag there since I won't be able to do that myself. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) (tricks) (current topic) Nov 9, 2007 @ 05:10 (UTC)

I don't understand what you mean by co-adoption. Why wouldn't Katie adopt the wiki? Angela@Wikia (talk) 22:07, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
I get a lot of users who like series and with a bit of technical help on the side of someone doing the templates and backend things that they use for content in articles. But they don't have a clue how to create templates, administrate a wiki, and organize a community. The two biggest things making animanga wiki inactive is a lack of fans knowing about the wiki, and when they do know, people intimidated at the work that isn't just writing content for the wiki.
I never actually called it co-adoption, but basically when someone is interested in working on an animanga wiki I adopt it and help set it up so that they can easily work on the content with nice results. There would be more inactive animanga Wikia without me doing that. I guess the best example is the Narutopedia. That was inactive when I adopted it, and I still only to minor content work. Other people do most of the content. But I handle the organization and various other things. ^_^ So basically I get to do all the technical organization, and community management I'm good at. And the editors get to nicely work on the content in the wiki knowing that they are using templates and other systems that have already been thought out and don't need them to go messing with them to improve them. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) (tricks) (current topic) Nov 10, 2007 @ 01:56 (UTC)
Have you thought about helping other users to do that instead of doing it for them? It doesn't sound very scalable simply to have you do their templates and organization for them. Angela@Wikia (talk) 09:36, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
There isn't actually much template work to do. 99% of the templates someone will need are already part of Wikia ACG. All I do is sync over the templates and most of the issues with needed templates for content is gone. And once you start the organization of something it doesn't take to much for the active users on the wiki to keep that organization going. Actually, aside from the stuff to do at the start I actually watch the RC of the wiki and try and find editors who would make good admins. I actually gave TheUltimate3 Sysop on the Narutopedia. After you do the work in setting a good wiki up the fans aren't that intimidated at the work to do there and it doesn't take as much effort. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) (tricks) (current topic) Nov 10, 2007 @ 20:45 (UTC)
Actually, I've been trying to find a good place outside of Wikia ACG to put some things. The Visual CSS Classes I use, and with the exclusion of the acg specific color classes the Box class system to are pretty well done. I was looking for a good place outside of Wikia ACG I could put them along with some other things and create a little project to make those available for use on wiki that wish to use them. I was also working on an iBox system. Basically I'm working on taking the syntax I use in my Infoboxes and turning them into templates like iBox/Start and iBox/Row which can be used to piece together into other infoboxes. I was hoping to be able to use the iBox system to create the infoboxes on the Odyssey Online Wiki. Though I paused my editing there because I'm trying to ask the game's creator a question on the weapons. I saw two types of War Maces in the game and don't know if we're going to half to include the +## as part of the titles. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) (tricks) (current topic) Nov 10, 2007 @ 20:53 (UTC)

[edit] SVGs

  • The odd thing is that up until 3 weeks ago, upload and processing on the server to generate png versions was working just fine. All the old SVGs work just fine on genealogy- eg: w:genealogy:Image:Flag of Malaysia.svg.
  • Unless I hear otherwise, I am assuming you folks are going to take care of the svg situation. If I should be thinking about writing some code to generate png versions for all the svgs on Joe and Robin's sites, drop me a note. I don't think you are thinking about going to print media with any of this material, so I don't really see much of an argument for the SVGs. (Even if we did, we could Bot them over from commons sometime downstream.) ~ Phlox 20:49, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Opps! I used "?&action=purge" on c:psychology:Image:PD-icon.svg because it was not rendering properly, now it will not render anywhere on the Psychology Wikia at all. Tcrow777 Talk | Teklogs 21:44, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] size of ads

Lately i have sensed that the the dofus wiki had something different in the monobook skin and then i notice this edit by macbre in the monobook i left him here at central a msg asking what was the bug he repair but still no answer, then i notice the size difference (image comparition). So why the english dofus wiki has 160px wide ads in monobook skin? while the rest of the wikis have 120px, can this be set back to its former size to 120px? --Cizagna (Talk) 15:59, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Yes, i have try, im still trying to get use to it, but i have tools that i can only use in monobook, and currently im having an issue with IE7 where the wiki cant load since i sometimes use both explorers to compare displays, i already report that to sannse and she ask JaeSharp so he/she is looking at it but hope it gets resolve soon since i have lots of reports on the report list. Thanks and i will be waiting for your answer --Cizagna (Talk) 16:38, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Teklogs adoption

Angela, I was wondering if I could get Sysop rights at Teklogs, I have been editing there for about a week, just like in the case of Napster964 on the Heavy Metal wiki the admins and bureaucrats have been offline for a little over a year.

My contributions on Teklogs

I would also like to suggest that the Italian Teklogs be shut down if no one adopts it in 30+/- days, I do not think one edit was ever made on that wiki.

I hope you accept my request, have a nice day and continue to be one of the greatest Wikia community members. Tcrow777 Talk | Teklogs 19:21, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks! However my user name does not show up in c:tech:Special:Listusers/Sysop yet. Tcrow777 Talk | Teklogs 04:56, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
I only asked for Sysop rights, but whos complaining? Tcrow777 Talk | Teklogs 05:18, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
I tried merging page histories to fix 2 copy-and-paste moves, the merged history did not appear in the edit history, but it's in the logs and when I go to undelete the undelete page says the deletion was already completed. Tcrow777 Talk | Teklogs 11:15, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
It's still not working, some edits were lost, the log says it is undeleted but on the history it still says "View or undelete 5 edits?" and when I scroll down the edits are not there. The c:tech:Special:Undelete page also says that the edits were already undeleted and will not let me try to undelete them again. c:tech:Template:Site Press and c:tech:Template:Headlines are the two pages I am having problems with. [edit] Ace Wikia Adoption

Hello! I stumbled across Ace Wikia when I was trying to found an Ace Combat wikia. The site has been inactive for more than a year and many of the articles have been copied and pasted (badly) from wikipedia. And so, I request to adopt it. I am a halopedian and I know most mark up text and I am very experienced with the editing tools. Also, I am a big fan of the Ace Combat series and I own and have played most of the games that are in the series. AJ

~ Phlox 16:33, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Hey Angela, SVGs were working fine yesterday, though today they're not. I uploaded this image and this image on the Super Smash Bros. Wiki, though they both do not appear in articles nor do they appear on their img description pages. However, previously uploaded SVGs are working fine, such as this image and this image (though this image does not appear on its description page). I've cleared my cookies and did a hard refresh for the new SVGs though they still do not appear.--Richard 19:02, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

I've reported all these examples as being broken. Hopefully the next fix will really fix them. Angela@Wikia (talk) 12:59, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wikia Helper Group

Hello Angela. Is there any requirements or something to become member of the Helper group? I would like to nominate myself as a volunteer. --DCLXVI 22:39, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

This is for contractors and interns who are actually working for Wikia rather than something for the general editing community. Janitorship is for non-staff though if you're interested in cross-wiki spam fighting. Sannse co-ordinates janitors so is the best person to ask for more details on this. Angela@Wikia (talk) 00:02, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply. My idea is to promote Wikia in Bulgaria - websites, blogs, press etc., and to help (mostly Bulgarian) users and administrators with their wikis. Being part of the Helper (or Janitor, as you suggest) group, should help me with trivial sysop duties around the wikis - not only removing spam, but helping with little things like editing the system messages, by deleting copyright violations, sometimes, when necessary, protecting pages, attacked by vandals etc. - things that many of the newcoming Wikia founders do not know how to deal with. I'll speak with Sannse about that, but please let me know about your point of view. Thanks :) --DCLXVI 00:16, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
I think there's a lot you can do for these wikis without needing global admin rights. Since none of them are active enough to have major vandal problems, I suggest you try to recruit some admins to them by promoting the wikis. Angela@Wikia (talk) 12:59, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] kathleen.wright5

What is this user doing? Most, but not all, of these category changes are completely unnecessary. This person is not acknowledging my questions at all. --CharitwoTalk 00:06, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Good question... she has now left some responses at User talk:Kathleen.wright5 and on other user talk pages. I suggest a janitor checks her contribs sitewide since there are a few category "issues" to clear up. Angela@Wikia (talk) 13:04, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
I have checked the user's cross-wiki contribs. Mostly the contribs are just harmless category page creation; though pointless, it's done in good faith. However, I think she should reply to talk page queries - as Central Wikia is very different from most other Wikia. The policies over here are most likely different too, and we may not need excess amounts of new categories, seeing as the current category structure works more than well for everyone. There's no need to further complicate things, as new Wikians find Central already very confusing.
But what I don't get is edits like this one: adding content pages to template category is just pointless to me. I'd suggest the user to have a look at core policies and then just watching a bit how Central Wikia community works, and then editing again. Good-faith edits are always more than welcome to Wikia. :) --Jack Phoenix (Contact) 14:02, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
I was going to wait til she replied to my most recent edit to her talk page before I started going through her contribs and fixing things. Basically removing templates cats from non-template pages and fixing noincludes for the ones that are. Also restoring the browse category. However, Tcrow's approach is exactly what we don't need :/ I'll go through and clean things up after I get off work today for what Dantman has not already reverted. --CharitwoTalk 16:08, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bureaucrat Issue

  • On the PotC Wiki, I am one of three administrators. However, the other two, both bueracrats, have taken off. [edit] Interwiki problem

We, UWN, have now 5 sites:

Currently there are interwiki's between the Dutch and the Romanian version. We already asked to create an interwiki with the English version too, but this is never really done. Can we get interwiki's with all five now?

  • The dutch one: nl
  • Romanian: ro
  • English: en
  • Aeres: ae
  • And the organisation: uwn or just uw, if uwn is to long

Thanks, Dimitri N. WS/WN 12:29, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Just use [[w:c:server]] (for example, [[w:c:uwn]]). There's no need for seperate interwiki links. -- Manticore Talk | Contributions 16:06, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
But Angela, is the en:-interwiki coming? Dimitri N. WS/WN 16:13, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
http://nation.wikia.com/ is the English one so just use [[w:c:nation]]...--Cometstyles 16:34, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
The only way for a link to appear in the "In other languages" box is if the interwiki prefix used is the name of a language, so en: yes fr: oui pt: sim pl: tak but w:c:whatever? No.
The en one from the other languages should be working now. Let me know if that's not what you wanted. Angela@Wikia (talk)

[edit] Thanks

Hi Angela, I just thought I'd stop by and say thanks for your help with the HammerWiki merger. It went a lot smoother than I'd thought it would ;)

There's just a couple of final issues to be cleared up. The old Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay wikis still redirect to HammerWiki - these need to be re-established in their own right again, since they cover different aspects of the Warhammer hobby. Hopefully the content in those wikis is still intact. Ta. --Pendrako 20:06, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

I'll let Angies know about this since she was involved in the decision to merge those 2 originally. Angela@Wikia (talk)

[edit] Uncyclopedia

Hi Angela, Codeine from Uncyc here. Hope you're well and good. We're currently having a discussion on Uncyclopedia about the possibility of launching a range of "UnMerchandise" via cafepress.com, and I believe it would be good to get Wikia's input on this matter, especially with regards to the following questions:

Has it been done before by other wikis? Did it work? What's the best way to deal with licensing issues arising from the CC-BY-SA? Is there any precedent with regards to disbursement of funds?

We're not expecting you to specifically answer any or all of these questions, of course; but if you or the members of your staff that you feel would have the best knowledge about these matters would care to contribute, your input would be most welcome. The reason this has come up is because a user decided to set up an "UnStore" of their own, without regards to license or community input, and while the majority of Uncyclopedians who've expressed an opinion seem to be for the idea, we want to make sure we do it properly. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions you might have.

Topics on Uncyc's Village Dump started here, went to some kind of vote here, got debated further here, and I've made an effort to collate and centralise further debate here. Why have just one topic when you can confuse the issue over four separate ones, eh? That's much too simple for Uncyclopedia :) -- Codeine 09:38, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Please talk to Sannse about this if and when the community comes to a consensus on it. Angela@Wikia (talk)

[edit] Hello.

[edit] Couple of things about Hitchhiking

Firstly, the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Earth wiki. The subdomain for this wiki is "dontpanic", which may cause some confusion as to what the wiki is about, as "Don't Panic" is written on the front cover of The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, a fictional book. If possible, I suggest that this wiki be renamed, which probably *is* possible, as there are only two "articles". Secondly, there's the Hitchhikers Wiki. If anything, *this* wiki should be at dontpanic.wikia.com, or hg2g.wikia.com, or something a little more specific... maybe just a little domain switcharoo? Also, the Hitchhikers Wiki's name comes from The Hitchhiker's Guide, with an apostrophe. While this bugs me, it's really irrelevant given the other problem I have with the name... the name makes you think the book is *about* The Hitchhiker's Guide, when it's actually about Douglas Adams, the guy who wrote the book, along with quite a few others. Because of that, either the wiki should be moved to something like douglasadams.wikia.com and all of its *really* specific Guide information should be moved to a separate not-founded-yet wiki, *or* the entire aim of the wiki should be changed to focus solely on the Guide, and a new wiki should have to be founded for any information regarding Dirk Gently or any of Adams's other books. I know these aren't *really* pressing matters... but they're minor discrepancies that could turn into major problems, and those really bother me. Thanks for reading! =D --NOTASTAFF GPT(talk)(eating) 03:15, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

lookupcontribs is currently slowing down the site. It needs to be rewritten to be more scalable before it can be given out more widely, and isn't especially useful unless you're an admin across all wikis, so for now, I'm sorry to have to reject your request for this. [edit] interlanguage links on Teletraan-I

Since there is now an Indonesian Transformers wiki, both I and Teletraan-I admin Steve-O have tried adding a link to it in the sidebar. We've both used the same code you used to add the Hungarian version, but instead of a link being added to the sidebar, a red link to a non-existant page on the Endlish version is added to the bottom of the page. Could you please gdet it set up correctly for us? --FortMax 18:48, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Lord Cutler Beckett

I noticed you recently promoted Lord Cutler Beckett from the Pirates of the Caribbean Wiki to Burecratt. You may not be aware of this but he is currently being investigated by the Wiki staff for bullying users on a daily basis and massive abuse of his admin powers, the peron handaling the complaint is Guesty-Persony-Thingy, under the circumstances I think giving him even more power is an extremely bad move.Thomas Faye 10:50, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Guesty-Persony-Thingy is not, nor ever has been, a member of Wikia Staff. -- Manticore Talk | Contributions 12:30, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Then who is handeling the complaint.Thomas Faye 13:06, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Greetings, Guesty-Persony-Thingy. I will try to make this as short as possible though that may be difficult, I want to file a formal complaint of corruption against Lord Cutler Beckett of the Pirates of the Caribbean Wiki. I know you will take this seriously as you have witnessed first hand what he is like, the ownership and rudeness you experienced from him is only the tip of the ice berg I will list his crimes (that I am aware of) below.

I certanely hope this has brought some light to the matter. The only term for Lord Cutler Becketts Adminship so far is a communist dictatorship. I myself was banned simply for standing up for myself. I will be returning to PotC Wiki shortly to bring this complaint the community's eyes, to start a pettion on the forum to see if anyone else feels the same, and to put fourth a new candidate. I can only pray that the presence of an investigation will spur others to stand up for themselves and maybe then we can topple this bully end his reighn of fear and install a fair and democratic Administator. - Drexyl 11:35, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Bravo to you Drexyl for finaly standing up to that control freak. I had a run in with him not long ago, we had a disagreement about the color of something he said it was blue I said it was black, I uploaded an image proving that i was right and he destroyed the evedince by deleting the image and threatening to ban me if i re-uploaded it.Thomas Faye 00:28, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

I think you both (Drexyl and Thomas) are very spoiled. Drexyl, I hope someone does look at those things, because then they could see just how badly you are lying to them. You don't know if I check things that I revert. I don't revert everything done by anons, just most, as it's mostly fanon and vandalism. That is my job you know, taking care of things like that. I was also made an admin by Kwenn because he deemed me necassary since he was leaving. I was going to be voted in, but Kwenn thought it unnecassary. All that stuff about deleting talk pages and such is also lies, if anyone read the history they would see that I do not. Most of these things (reverts) you are taking out of context, Drexyl. That one IP address you brought up was a vandal that blanked hundreds of pages. Also, if you think I'm going to be "taken care of", why are you so desperate? I don't think anything will be done, I am appreciated by the major contributors on the PotC Wiki, and I have done nothing wrong. I welcome any "investigations". You, Drexyl, on the other hand have only had about twenty semi-good faith edits. I blocked (not banned, and only for two hours mind you) you because you were harrassing other users, get over it. As for you Thomas, I had an official source for the colour of those coats, and you tried to trump over it with your opinion. Get over that. Also, I did not delete the image, it is still there, neither did I threaten to ban you, I said if you added fanon (non-canonical information) again, by PotC Wiki policy, I would be forced to block you for at least a week. Angela, I am deeply sorry that these two little childish trouble-makers had to trouble you with all of this, and I'm sorry we've taken up so much of your talk page. On the other hand, thank you for making me a Beureacrat, now I can ensure that the PotC Wiki can have more users with rollback rights. I thank you again, and apologize for all the trouble.--Lord Cutler BeckettPort Royal 18:50, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
Wow! I have never seen someone abuse their sysop privileges like Lord Cutler Beckett, he's an absolute control freak. He needs to be de-sysoped, for Wikia's sake! Also, there are no outsiders, everyone should be welcome to contribute something to the wiki. Tcrow777 Talk | Teklogs 19:47, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, well thanks for ignoring my comments and not really looking at those page histories. Besides, it's not your problem anyway. If you can't see evidence, then stay out of conflicts. Besides, nothing's happening to me, because I've done nothing wrong. Angela: if you are heading up whatever "investigation" these people keep refering to, I hope you can do it quickly so these people can leave me, and you, alone. If not, then I really and sincerely apologize, these simple people are so crazed they refuse to listen to any voice other than their own. As for me, I'm not getting into this anymore, I'm done. I once again apologize, I hope these people stop pestering you.--Lord Cutler BeckettPort Royal 23:15, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

I have reviewed just about all of the evidence presented on this page, what I don't like is the way you treat newbies and IP editors ("outsiders"). It is clear that you have abused your sysop privileges and/or the community wants you de-sysoped. I will be one of the first users to sign that petition to get you de-sysoped. Warning: Change your ways or get de-sysoped. Tcrow777 Talk | Teklogs 23:53, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Angela could you please ignore the pathetic complaints from these two, both of them have been engaged in vandalism and personal attacks and have grossly over exagerated Lord Cutler Beckett's supposed crimes. I assure you there is nothing wrong with Cutler's Adminship no one else feels the same way about him. - Lord KAJ Company Office 20:22, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

After digging farther down I have changed my opinion about Lord Cutler Beckett, but he has to do some explaining for a few actions. Tcrow777 Talk | Teklogs 22:18, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
I would like to suggest that everyone leaves LCB to get on with developing this wiki, and instead of getting into arguments, you help with content creation if you're interested in the topic, else step back and let him correct his behavior without trying to cause a drama about it. Angela@Wikia (talk) 03:52, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Merge

Myself and the administrators from the Electrosphere are working on a proposal to merge the two wikis. They started on their own after they didn't want the Ace Combat Wiki. After some minor issues between the two groups, we are working on it. And how exactly would the two be merged? Please get back to me. Thank you.

-- AJ

Along with that, I am wondering if we can get the existing sysops on Acewiki (not Myself, HaloDude, and Grievous797) de-sysopped. I've tried to bring them back, and they aren't interested.

Electrosphere is the name of the editthis. -- AJ

[edit] New Yu-Gi-Oh Wiki Channel

Hello Angela, mind adding another channel to the IRC Gateway? (#yu-gi-oh-duels)

Some of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Wiki users (admins mostly, heh...) have spent some time using the normal channel for dueling. I made a note, and everyone thought it was a good idea to create a channel dedicated for that to keep it out of the main channel. At least one admin that would like to be able to at least see these does use the gateway so it would be nice to have. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) (tricks) (current topic) Nov 24, 2007 @ 20:22 (UTC)

No, renaming accounts is not possible. The easiest way to change username is by registering the new account, redirecting your page, and leaving a note on the new userpage. -- Manticore Talk | Contributions 05:23, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I am wondering how I would go about seeking to merge the College Hockey Wiki into the Ice Hockey Wiki (of which I am an admin of). The College one has been essentially dead for the better part of two years (correct me if I am wrong of course), and since the Ice Hockey Wiki has a much wider scope, it may be beneficial for the College wiki to become one with the IHW. [edit] A few quick questions for Computer Wiki

1. Is it possible to incorporate MediaWiki extensions into a Wikia wiki? I wanted Travis Dern's Postcomment extension for my talk and discussion pages.

2. I need Zartla's admin and bureacrat rights removed, as he is no longer active with the wiki.

3. Is it possible to remove the Wikia spotlight from your wiki> If so, is it allowed?

Cal 19:06, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure I want Postcomment. It's on wikiHow, and after being there on a popular site for almost 2 years, it hasn't atrracted as much spam as you'd think. Also, I know Zartla quit, because he told me. Also, thanks for telling me about the wikia spotlight. (wow, I used "also" a lot in that post)

I realize that I, Total Rune have had problems with this wiki in the past, however recently my brother Nicholas has been using his laptop and my families Shared wireless internet connection to edit and vandalize the wiki, because when I was banned he wanted to edit as well so I told him to "do whatever you want on the wiki, i'm not going to stop you". After I was banned, there was a string of vandalisms from my network, which were done by my brother. The RS Wiki took this as me coming back and vandalizing. But it wasn't.

Recently he's vandalized and posed as me on several occasions, which is how the account "Total Rune" was made. He created it and posed as me until I caught him and got the account's password from him and changed it. Anyways, everytime he's vandalized on our families connection or with a proxy, one of the sysops on the wiki would ban him, and as the reason, they would simply put "Total", claiming it was me. This has damaged my reputation in RuneScape itself and it is also defamation of my character as I was not the one doing the vandalisms. Wowbagger421 himself has insulted me on several occasions and Stinkowing even came onto my old Wikipedia talk page (I since have quit Wikipedia) and tried to get me banned on Wikipedia.

Christine has been telling several RS Wiki members who have me on MSN to "block and delete me" for no reason and has even claimed that the only reason I insulted her was because of another user, Speckledorph, which was not true.

I've finally had enough of the RS Wiki and I already told them I would not vandalize anymore, which I have not done. I did however use a proxy once or twice to deliver a message to the Wiki when they would leave a message for my brother, thinking it was me. They've damaged my reputation ingame as well as constantly blamed any vandalism from my network as being by me, when 98% of it was my brother.

I realize you probably won't do anything and someone will probably erase this entire message, but I will simply repost it. I want something done. 69.159.56.155 20:27, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

I suggest you wait until your block is over and then return, apologise for the vandalism and using proxies to circumvent your block, and then try to get on with normal editing. Until then, there are many many other wikis you could work on. Angela@Wikia (talk) 04:18, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
See, the thing is, they did a checkuser and found that a bunch of the vandalism was from my IP addresses/network, done by my brother, then Sansse advised the sysops to block me (thinking I was the vandal) on the spot, which they've been doing whenever my brother vandalizes.
Also, I do not wish to return to the RuneScape Wiki. I just want them to stop labelling any vandalism done by my IP's/network (my brother) as "Total" all the time, because it's not me.
I have used a proxy once or twice to leave a message to Christine, for example to apologize to her for everything I've done, yet she continues to hold a grudge against me for the vandalism my brother did. I don't want to return to the wiki, too many people there have a grudge against me and tend to block my IP/network on the spot. I'm thinking of going to Sansse and explaining to her who I am and see if she remembers me, then explaining what happened.
I left a long message for Sannse, located here. The entire story of what happened is summarized there. 69.159.56.155 07:36, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Total, Total, Total...when will you GET it? Not everyone holds a grudge against you. I would like to believe you are truely repentant, but your "brother" makes me feel otherwise. Why do I say "brother" in quotations? It's quite simple, really: We don't know your personal life. We don't know enough about your real-life self; thus, we don't know if you truly have a brother or not. It also seems that your brother is the ONLY source of vandalism from your family, which ultimatly leads to our suspicion that you made up your brother to hide your tracks.
I am not saying all of this to rile you up. I am simply trying to get you to see this issue from our view. I believe you left a message on my RSWiki talk page? If you'll excuse me, I'll go erase that now; it is rather rude to swear at someone. --Stinkowing 13:10, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
No, I believe my brother left it. I saw the message. Do you see what I have to put up with? I find it rather strange that they all want to know about my real life and etc, and etc, and yet nobody bothers anyone else about it, just me. Stinkowing is one of the many people who does not believe in what I say, and yet continues to label everything as being done by me. He also has swore a few times, if I'm not mistaken, then again, I don't have the logs to prove it, just my memory. 69.159.56.155 18:41, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Example of use of your SimpleForm code?

Your page, scratchpad:User:Angela/Food#MediaWiki:Common.js has a function named simpleform(). Can you point me to any wikia pages that utilize this (or similar .js code) to produce a form? ~ Phlox 17:21, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Images from commons

Can I use, in a wikia, images from Commons (for exemple Commons:Image:Flag of the United States.svg) without uploading theme here? --Pixi 10:01, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Hello again. I have another question, can be implemented class="wikitable" for table? It's easier to format a table. --Pixi 08:40, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
Angela, I think I'm boring with my questions about wikia. :( Sorry. Here's another one: how can I setup a bot for http://bucuresti.wikia.com (User:Pixibot)? I use Autowikibrowser for repetitive task and the section bots is not activated, and this thing makes using of soft very difficult. PS: I didn't find the section through which I can give bot flag. --Pixi 10:45, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your Name Here

Could you help out with the code that enables [your name here] functionality, such as here? This is similar to the SGWiki one, but I can't find where the background code is. Thanks! --Yunzhong Hou

The base code should be:
 addOnloadHook(UserNameReplace);

 function UserNameReplace() {
 if(typeof(disableUsernameReplace) != 'undefined' && disableUsernameReplace) return;
    for(var i=0; UserName = document.getElementsByTagName("span")[i]; i++) {
        if ((document.getElementById('pt-userpage'))&&(UserName.getAttribute('id') == "insertusername")) {
            UserName.innerHTML = wgUserName;
        }
    }
 }

[edit] Extension request for Egamia

Hi Angela. I was wondering if it is possible to install the DynamicFunctions extension on Egamia (the wiki that was recently merged into GameInfo). The reason this extension would be helpful is due to #arg, which allows you to test parameters in the URL. The case for this is on pages like Artifical Girl 3 where the inappropriate content is hidden by default and only available through a javascript show/hide link. However, not everyone has javascript enabled on their browser, so by testing to see if the parameter "showcontent" or something is defined, it is possible to show the content to those without javascript enabled as well. If you have reserves about the other functions in that extension (like #ip), you can just not include them, I'm really only interested in #arg. Thanks! (Oh, and you can reply here, my central talk page, or my egamia talk page, I really don't care). --Skizzerz 18:50, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Strange block

Hello Angela. A user blocked me on UnPokemon with an expiry time of one year. This is strange as I am not on that wikia, nor have any intention of joining. Also, they requested I be stripped of sysop duties, wherein again, I have never even been there. Can you please look into this situation? I know I can still go my usual wikias, but it still feels strange being blocked for no reason.

Thank You
Max2
I looked at that wiki, it appears he made you and 4 others sysops on November 5th. Maybe he realized it was a mistake and thought blocking you would prevent access to the tools which it doesn't. But you are indeed a sysop there. I've seen him before on other wikia, he is quite the character. --CharitwoTalk 23:17, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
That makes sense. I've removed the block, and the admin rights, and left him a message explaining that and checking that this interpretation is right. Looks like all is back to normal, Max2 :) -- sannse@Wikia (talk) 23:28, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Well you see, when I visit it, I see that the last edit made on the wiki was done on "16 November 2007". It's nearly been an entire month without an edit. Maybe we should do to it, what Erwin Schrodinger does, and kill it like a cat in a box....maybe. Erwin Schrodinger 09:09, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] size of ads (3rd part)

its about subjects "size of ads" in archive 12.

The #google its ok, by removing macbre's edit every thing went back to normal the issue is the size of the ads its wider and it seems its back to that wide version, in the image that i showed you it was 2 things ads where bigger and it was also macbre's edit, now his edit has been remove but ads are still to wide more than any other wikia and im rarely finding now normal wide size ads --Cizagna (Talk) 07:05, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Can't manage to open a Hebrew wiki in Wikia

I have had two very good ideas for potential Hebrew wikis which I am sure would be very sucessfull amongst the hebrew speaking users on the web. Unfortunatly, I havn't been able to figure out how to open a Hebrew Interface Wiki in which the text would show from right-to-left so far... at one point I even thought that it was impossible and that all the Hebrew wikis on Wikia didn't have a Hebrew right-to-left interface and in the best scenarios you could only add a div dir="RTL".. but just now I found out that one of the most popular Hebrew wikis on the web (eincyclopedia.wikia.com) is hosted in wikia so I know for sure that it got to be possible.. any ideas on how I could do this (please try to be as specific as you can)? --24.12.234.123 05:22, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

All the Hebrew wikis should be displaying right to left text. Are you seeing any of the interface in Hebrew? If you log in, you can check your preferences to make sure you have Hebrew in there and not another language. If that doesn't work, please let me know which wiki it isn't working on and which skin you have set in your preferences. You shouldn't need to add div dir="RTL" to make it work. Hello. I was recently doing a Yahoo search on a favorite book series of mine, and stumbled across the Percy Jackson Wiki, Camp Half-Blood. [edit] Admin Relations Issues on Warriors Wiki

You've heard from me before about problems with Eulalia459678 on Warriors Wiki. Once again, they're causing trouble. Relations between us have never been good, but they've become more and more strained as a result of Eu's own immature behavior. I'll link examples of the behavior of Eu's that has caused this to reach issue porportions, starting with the most recent and going backwards, excluding the previously reported here instances of telling people they couldn't edit things.

Talk Page Attack against me (in response to this thread on the Warriors Wiki Forum.
This Forum post documents yet another attack on me by Eu, that continued despite me apologizing.
Yet another attack against me. (My replies on Eu's Talk Page)

As you can see, I have been enduring repeated attacks by Eu for some time now. There have also been altercations through private messenger systems, including them harassing me to the point where I have had to resort to putting myself on invisible pretty much all the time. They have had no respect for my away messages and sending me 10+ messages over the course of a half hour despite away messages being up declaring me not at my computer.

I feel that Eu's consistent approach to dealings with me constitutes a violation of Terms of Service. Eu have no conducted themselves in accordance with Wikia policy, least of all of a person entrusted with Administration Rights and expected to act at the head of a Wikia.

I ask you to unsysop the user Lunatico. The reason is totally inactivity in project. I suppose, that he leave wikia. Thanks.Flamevox 10:45, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RE: Problems

The real issue is that I have attempted to close communication channels. After they realized that I was acctually on my messengers, on invisible, they started IMing me there again. I acctually had to explain to them that being on invisible meant that I wanted my privacy and they should respect it.

The most recent attack against me is an example of them acting aggressively when I have tried to end that particular communication.

One of the biggest issues with Eu is that they're the only other System Operator on Warriors Wiki. I'm rather literally forced to interact with them, even if I have no desire to do so. Hobbes15 has done an excellent job of... well... staying neutral and out of things, but with Eu and I being the people who're suposed to be responsible for running the Wiki, there's not a way we can't interact. If we're on different pages then things like their misguided attempt to have scripts enabled becuase they wanted to use this so they could find out something completely worthless like how many page views we get a day.

In fact... Until I asked (well.. Told) them to halt the addition of that script working and open the discussion to the community so that all Wiki members could decide as a whole if they wanted the security holes open, our relations had been fairly decent. Eu seems to almost lash out like a wounded snake following situations like that. As much as I've tried to limit my communications with them, should I be, in essence, forbidden from using the forums on a site that I spend a good deal of time working on daily simply because my fellow Sysop plays a game of oneupmanship and can't handle the idea of a real discussion where someone might disagree and not intend that information in a malicious manner? Where I'll be the grownup and drop out of conversations and ignore direct attacks against myself only to have them wait a week then accuse me of not having a comeback.

This is not just a case of me looking for mediation. This is a case of me looking to solve a long term problem that I have spent ages trying to deal with on the wiki itself, using more traditional means (IE: ignore the behavior, and limit contact as much as possible with the user). Eu, who favors a system of government akin to dictatorship, isn't helping to run Warriors Wiki with the community in mind, but instead simply caring about what they want.

And if what they want includes attacks against other users... It's not like this is a fluke, or a one time thing. This behavior or Eu's has been ongoing. I mean... Right now I can't do anything more than attempt to work things out with Eu myself, who seems to think they've been behaving appropriately.

I've attempted less aggressive means for dealing with Eu's current impunity from punishment on Warriors Wiki... Aside from Dissuade Interaction, is there really no other action that is to be taken? TOS Violation on the part of a Sysop seems like it should come to more than that. I'm being harassed my a person I acctually need to work with to run the WWiki...

[edit] GuildWiki stats request

One of our admins was wondering if we can have data on the number of edits made by all contributors (with a minimum threshold to include contributors with at least, say, 100 edits). Maybe one list for the main space stats only, and one across all namespaces. Additionally, I would be interested in seeing the other data typically available from wikistats.wikia.com for GuildWiki. [edit] Alaska Wikia

Hello, I have seen the Wiki "Alaska" which requires adoption as it has not been edited for months. So I have started work on it and have done lots of edits improving it and I am spending most of my time on it (I might be editing it just as you read this!) and have improved it alot, however without Adminship on it I cannot improve it to the extent I want to. So could you kindly grant me adminship on that Wiki? Thanks!--Kushan I.A.K.J 11:43, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

And also on adminship on the Ufology Wiki, please? Thanks!--Kushan I.A.K.J 12:36, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Ok, now you may think I am gone crazy, but I know what I am doing (since I love Wikis, or any info, about countries and also msyteries like UFOs), so could you please very kindly grant me adminship on the Australia Wiki as well.

  • P.S: I have the excact links to them(the adminship requested Wikis) on my Central Wiki userpage. Thanks VERY much!!!!!--Kushan I.A.K.J 14:56, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Note: The user, Kushan_I.A.K.J, made a few minor edits to the Alaska wiki yesterday - one of which I would dispute as grossly inaccurate (providing a single pair of geographic coordinates for the entire state). I don't know what this user's interest in the Alaska wiki is. True, it hasn't been edited for a while due to lack of any community participation. But it hasn't been abandoned. New users are welcome, but this request for SYSOP status seems premature. --Doug 17:41, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Not again...

Total Rune has been vandalising the RuneScape Wiki again. He keeps claiming crap like "If you delete my page, I'll report you for sysop-power abuse", when he is making personal attacks and the like on his page. I'm getting fed up with him; is it possible to mass block him from Wikia? He doesn't seem to care anymore. --Stinkowing 15:55, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

I'm not this Total Rune guy you say I am =\ . Wanna speak to me ingame? Add Minky Steve (based off of the ever popular Weebl's Stuff character). 70.49.207.133 16:14, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
My memory fails me, I just started playing RuneScape a few months ago, I'm a noob =) 70.49.207.133 16:16, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Yes you are. I recognize your "Minky Steve" name; you've used THAT before. Tell me, how foolish do you feel right now? You most likely DON'T feel foolish right now, but you will when you're banned.--Stinkowing 16:17, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
No, I'm not. Minky Steve is a very popular name, what with the Parsley Boobs cartoon. Just because someones used it on a Wikia, doesn't mean they own the account on RuneScape. 70.49.207.133 16:35, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Sadly, this continues. Everytime we get a vandal attack, and accuse Total of comitting it, he instantly pops up and says that "some guy, his brother" is contacting him saying we are trashing his name. The timing is always perfect. Unfort. I dont know what you can do to prevent it. He uses a proxy ip and this has been going on for at least 6 months. {{SUBST:Signatures/atlandy}} 17:11, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
No, I do not use a proxy. My brother does. However, my IP changes sporadically. It is Bell Sympatico Lite and it changes on it's own every so often. I cannot control it, and not even unplugging the modem does anything.

I have told the RS Wiki time and time again I am done with it. As for this current vandal who has posted on Manticores page, I have no clue if it is a stranger or my brother. I can ask Nick for you if you want, but I'm not promising anything. Atlandy, you've always had it out for me because I'm better than you and you know it. 67.159.50.91 17:14, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Also, this whole "instantly pops up" thing is untrue. Usually my brother will contact me and let me know, or I'll have an email from someone saying for example, "Dude these dudes are badmouthing you <link>" and I'll have to come and take a look. Everytime I do, I'm immediately singled out and then it all starts over again. I took your advice and walked away Angela, and here they go again, pulling me into this just because a random user or my brother, I have no clue as of yet, vandalized. 67.159.50.90 17:16, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Arguing with our wiki on Angela's page is fruitless. It is a shame that arguing on "who is vandalizing the wiki" has to be played out. You failed on the odessey wiki (vandalizing it) you vandalized our wiki numerous times, the type of vandalism, style, use of words, are all the same to previous times you have vandalized. I am sorry Angela that you need to be brought into all of this. We will just have to be more vigilant in preventing all vandals, including Total's entire family tree, friends, co-workers, classmates, and everyone else who keeps him in the loop with Runescape vandalism. Sorry once again for the immaturity brought on by some. {{SUBST:Signatures/atlandy}} 19:54, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Angela, as you are one of the wikia staff listed on the Knitting Wiki user list, I thought I'd drop you a line to let you know I've recently found that wiki and was disheartened that it had fallen into non-use after so few articles. I am petitioning to become an administrator of that wiki, as the others seem to not be active, I have an interest in knitting, and experience as an administrator here at wikia (D20NPCs wiki).
