[edit] Hi!
Dear BladeBronson,
Hello there! =] My name is RelentlessRecusant, and I am an administrator of Halopedia as well as a number of other Gaming Wikias. I'm glad to see you around on Halopedia! If there's anything I can help you with, please let me know!
Welcome to Wikia! =]
Cheers,

[edit] Hello there!
Thanks for your help on my wiki on Buckethead. Feel free to add and change things there as you wish, at least you seem to know what you do (a big advantage over me :-/)--HexaChord 16:30, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Re: IRC pm on Monaco skin
I started to create my own Monaco skin and was actually hoping to maybe present it to the community once finished as the Custom Monaco skin for our wiki. But, I don't know CSS, so a lot of my work has been taking things from other wikis (FFXIclopedia being the one I'm referring to, which you also suggested =] this applies to KyleH, I forgot to remove it) and from a personal monobook of one of our users, adapted from a Common version I think mostly created by Richard1990. But I have some issues and I was wondering if you could help. What I have so far is here and what it looks like is this. I'm aiming for something like this. Links on that first bar are what I need help fixing, and the links up top where it says "Gaming" next to wikia, because that's only visible because of the monaco skin I have set in the background, I know if I changed it to say, "slate" or something, it wouldn't be readable. Links in and TOCs are blue and hard to read also. And, if there's any way to insert a temporary logo, just as a way to test things out and see how everything looks when experimenting, I could use that help too. Thanks =] Note: this message was pretty much copied exactly from the message I left to KyleH, I just removed some comments, sorry =] ChristineTalk 00:29, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
- Some new images: normal page, and editing a page. Thanks again. =] ChristineTalk 00:44, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
- Already ahead of you on that, I saw your edits about 4 minutes before you left me a message and copied them to my monobook XD See, I think my issue really was that I don't know CSS, and had no idea I was even editing that section (I didn't even think it was there). =P I noticed something after changing my CSS to yours, and it's that edit summaries on history pages don't come out white when being selected to compare diffs. They're black, ergo hard to see. There's that (screenshot), the TOC links, and our main page (with poll) is nearly impossible to read. That probably isn't in the CSS but if you could look at it, that'd be nice. =] Oh, also wondering if your edits covered the issues with the "Gaming" and "More" links at the top of the page (and the wikia logo thing was a 5-minute Paint.NET job, I have no Photoshop, so thanks =]). And sorry for having so many issues >_> ChristineTalk 03:24, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hey Blade, I have working browsers now, so if you ever have some spare time again, I'd actually be able to work with you now. You can always leave me a talk page message or try me on IRC. Thanks. ChristineTalk 17:32, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Picture on user page
Great picture but I'm waiting on that one made in the Monaco hotel at all-hands 2008, downstairs with notebook camera ;-) --Marooned

- /me adds that the "request a wiki" header link in the Gaming skin is blue on blue [1], adds both to the collated list in the usual place. Kirkburn (talk) 23:58, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Hello, long time I am not active in wikia
Hello, It's been a long time since I was active in Wikia (maybe it's benn more than 1 or 3 years). Now I am ready to be active again. But I will retain only Karl May Wiki and I will officially retire from the rest.
And, I also would like to ask you to help me on this matter:
The community which Karl May Wiki is devoted to ask me to protect some of the texts in the wiki. The texts concerned are all articles that will be under the category: e-Book. They ask me if the texts can be protected so it cannot be copied directly from the webpage (I know some javascript could do this in non-wiki websites), and also the source shouldn't be readable (I can protect them from being edited). The community want this e-Books to be strictly non-commercial and free for people to read, they fear that irresponsible people would publicize the texts commercially because it will contain some complete works of Karl May (at least there will be 3 complete works).
Can this be done on wikia? If so, how?
Thanks

- There is no way to do this on wikis or any other type of website. If the writings of Karl May are transmitted from server to client in any form, they can be extracted from the site and repurposed. There's really no way around this. BladeBronson

[edit] Error in PDF Files
I am putting several PDFs in my wiki (http://id.karlmay.wikia.com) on E-Book page, but some of the files would display error message if opened directly with browser. But if those files are downloaded, they can be opened. It seems that this error would only occur if the file exceeds a certain size, which is different from computer to computer.
Finding this error, I have tried to put those files in my company's website and linked them to the wiki. This error does not occur! So I concluded the problem must be on wikia's server and not on those files.
I think this is a bug. Please help.

[edit] Olivier C
Anonyme user... Thank you for the welcoming... You can find my profil here. I will try to set up an account for the next time... I still hope to find a way to collaborate... But I wonder how to have a wiki without advertissing and still having money to sustain your job. It could be that I have wrong picture of the situation... Such a long time since I talked with Angie (September 08).
Wish you good time and hope in a better world Olivier C
- Hi again! Yep, all Wikia wikis have advertising, but logged-in users see far less (only ads on mainpage). Ah yeah, Angie's a good kid. :) Hope to see you around Wikia more in the future. --BladeBronson
