[edit] Account creation trouble

Hey BlueDevil. Since you are a Wikia Helper, I just HAD to ask you why I can't register. A user advised me to talk to a Helper if I had any trouble. If you can, please let me know what the problem is.

--76.4.211.235 01:25, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] More info

I'm sorry. What happens is the Wikia says it's unable to register me at this time. That's it. --76.4.211.235 03:38, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Do what I did, go to Wikianswers, it signs you up and for some reason it doesn't stop you, I had the same problem when I was trying to create this account (Webkinz112)--Webkinz112 My talk page (haha, no link for you) 03:59, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

YES!!! I DID IT!!! Thanks so much! --SuperSonicRider 12:24, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Double redirects

Hello, is there a difference between #Redirect and #REDIRECT? It appears that you are fixing the double redirects that I had already fixed on [1] and [2]. SUL 16:24, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Something wasn't working and I was testing if it got fixed or not. That's why I jumped in the middle of your work :-) -- BlueDevil Talk 16:43, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
Most likely the cache didn't update on the special page (takes a while) so even though you fixed it, the special page didn't recognize you did :) ~Joey~ ^Talk^ 17:09, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Friendly community?

When I attempted to make a change on the present IP address (to note that there are problems associated with it on Wikipedia) I had the following message appear:

Warning: The liberal Jew-run media has infiltrated Wikiality, and forced us to allow anonymous editing. The Surgeon General has ordered us to warn you that editing anonymously can cause birth defects, cancer, increased risk of stroke, and revealing your IP address. Please log in if you wish to hide your IP address.

This is #totally inappropriate# - and more befits Conservapedia than Wikia.

As the WP block on the IP address seems to be justified in this context, could a suitable comment be made on the article page. —This unsigned comment is by 82.44.143.26 (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

He's talking about w:c:wikiality:MediaWiki:Anoneditwarning. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 17:43, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks Michaeldsuarez! I replied on Community Portal.-- BlueDevil Talk 18:11, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] 007

Thanks for sorting out those deletions for James B, hope some action was taken with the user. Have a gereat day -- 82.227.105.217 was not logged in Piandao and Scooby!

np-- BlueDevil Talk 16:12, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Is i possible you can tidy up the recent talk in the 007 wiki for good house keeping? It still shows some activity that you just helped remove - thanks Piandao and Scooby!

[edit] Hello

Hi, what do you mean by "this"?-- BlueDevil Talk 16:28, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Becoming Administrator on a wiki that isn't being used

How am I able to become an Administrator of a wiki that isn't being used by the founder whos last login was over 2 years ago?

The wiki in question is the multimedia wiki. There are only 2 members (both Administrators) of this wiki, and neither has logged in for a very long time.

1. Edgeworld (Talk) · (Contribs) · (Edit stats) bureaucrat, sysop 0 19:11, 6 April 2007 - 2. Sigfig (Talk) · (Contribs) · (Edit stats) bureaucrat, sysop 0 21:58, 30 November 2007

I'm wanting to help develop this wiki as a reference source for various types of multimedia, such as tv shows, movies and games. To do so as an Administrator would allow me to begin developing the wiki without being encumberred by any access restrictions (e.g. changing the category to "entertainment").

Wikia:Adoption requests. ~Joey~ ^Talk^ 09:05, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Hey. JoePlay said that i became an admin, but i haven't gotten a message after that, saying my responsibilities or anything. if this was a mistake, and i wasn't supposed to be an admin, then send me a message saying so, and i understand. thx. SuperMutantSlayer450

[edit] Megami Tensei Wiki Conflicts

Currently, I am the founder of Megami Tensei Wiki. In the beginning, I contributed, but for well over a year now, I have been inactive on the site, save for talk pages and uploading a random image or two. The problem lies in the fact that there are too many conflicts (not directly involving me) going on with contributors that I had given admin rights to. I felt then that they were atypical of what usually happens when one person want something one way, and another wants it another way. They are intelligent, well-spoken people and hard-working, which makes this a real shame. There was no resolution, and now these people appear to be leaving the wiki out of frustration---perhaps for good. Consider the source, but the person on their way out deemed the wiki "to be in future jeopardy". I would like to request a renouncement or something similar of my bureacratic rights. I am no born leader, and I didn't realize that this was the role I would have to play. I see all sides to an argument, but these issues cause undue stress for me, and interferes with my work on other wikis. I would gladly give permission to someone else that asks if they want the "weighty" responsibility, if that is what's necessary. Perhaps, I've posted this on the wrong page, but can you help? icysugarspike 21:46, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Yes, please honor my request and remove the flags. As for the discussion as to who will sit "on the throne" (ouch), I'm getting out of the bathroom altogether and letting them fight for the last piece of toilet paper. Thanks for your help. icysugarspike 00:19, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Hello, BlueDevil. I'm Bluer, one of the admin who have worked very close with icy and has been with him since the inception of the Megami Tensei Wiki as can be attested through my contributions and both our talk pages. I am saddened that icy has chosen to give up his rights, but I am willing to take over cleaning the "bathroom" and perhaps bringing a new set of toilet papers. Of course, if this is not the page to do so, I'm really sorry. BLUER一番 04:26, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

I have done so by opening a forum thread here. BLUER一番 13:47, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Sorry for the intrusion, BlueDevil, but unfortunately our community participation is a bit lacking, despite advertising it thoroughly throughout the wiki. And the only other participant is mostly out there spreading bad faith - I do not really understand his problem, but unfortunately the so-called conflict begun ever since he was given administrative rights, as Icy above can confirm.
I have been editing actively ever since my first edit in the wiki, and I also actively welcome every new user who contributes. I ensure previous bcrat Icy's trust on me is well-placed ever since I am entrusted sysop rights, and I sincerely intend to create a welcoming and friendly staff on the wiki, one without a user who spread bad faith. [edit] AWB

Hey BlueDevil :-). Since you seem to be one of the primary updaters of the AWB checkpage, I wondered if there was anything else I had do other than my request here? Thanks :). Grunny (Talk) 09:59, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Done. Thanks for reminding me!-- BlueDevil Talk 15:27, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Hey again BlueDevil. I wondered if you could set the bot flag on my bot on the Firefly wiki which I recently adopted, User:Dr. Ball, M.D.? Thanks :-). Grunny (Talk) 10:14, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
Done.-- BlueDevil Talk 15:43, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Could I also gain a bot flag on the pffanon, it is to help them categorize pages. Thanks!--Avatar Talk 19:59, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm trying to find out why you deleted my Wiki Page for Fenway Medical. --Fenway Medical, LLC 02:11, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] PyWikipedia

Hi BlueDevil,

I noticed that you recently submitted a bug at SourceForge about PyWikipedia. You can find instructions about how to make the bot recognise custom user groups (such as helper and staff) at m:Pywikipedia_bot_on_non-Wikimedia_projects#Custom_User_Groups_.26_Permissions. SUL 18:43, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I had those in my wikipedia.py (thanks to Uberfuzzy), but when I updated my bot, everything got broken. That's why I asked them to add those custom permissions. Now that I know how to do it, I'll change it. Thanks for your help!-- BlueDevil Talk 19:10, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] VANDALISM AND INSULTS REPORT

Hello ( Vade retro blue satanas ?? ) I wish to report vandalism and insults on the wikias I created see :http://fr.forumcitoyenlibre.wikia.com/wiki/FORUM_CITOYEN_Bis_Wiki and http://fr.forum-citoyen-libre.wikia.com/wiki/FORUM_CITOYEN_Ter_Wiki ( this one is a forge/dummy not created by me) ( gros boulet in french means big sucker or dummy ) This bastard is using a forge (red tagged) PHILTHEGUNNER60 logo and also vandalised my personnal page PHILTHEGUNNER60 - 'seems that the idea of creating a forum where the contributors can speak about ideas, projects, wiki-philosophy or ethic, what can be improve, censorship, etc. greatly disturb some occult internal fascist maffia that thinks WIKIPEDIA beeing his property ! Cheers - Phil - Bxl 19/08 16:30 CEST

Hi Beedee ! No news from you - what's going on ? Actions ? The wikihacker who vandalised seems to have try to import some poisonous friend as my protection detected and stopped some unfriendly visitor when I checked my page ( must be a hacker as he worked under my label - I assumed that any one visiting the site will be contaminated - sad advert for Wiki the poo )!!! Cheers Phil Brussel 19/08 - 22:59 CEST
Hi, please use special:contact and send your report to Wikia Staff. Thanks!-- BlueDevil Talk 21:21, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] yo this is urgent

what can i do to get others to help and stay to help edit my wiki? Jonathan Smith (JohnnyLightning) Video Game History

Work a little bit on your main page. Add links to some articles. That's the entrance of your wiki and it's the first thing users encounter when they enter your wiki. That's why you should make it more interesting. You can get more help from User:Richard1990-- a Wikia Gaming Helper. Also, take a look at Help:Making a successful wiki.-- BlueDevil Talk 18:10, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Helper

How come you're not a helper anymore ;0? Mark (Tedjuh10) - Talk 13:21, September 5, 2009 (UTC)

Due to school, I don't have much time to spend on Wikia. So, I asked them to remove my helper right.-- BlueDevil Talk 15:34, September 5, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Greetings and thank you for the Invite

I'm new to the Wikia world, and have been an active contributor this past year on the Wikipedia website. I'm considering branching out and getting started with a new wiki to farm here and hopefully get some support and contributions from others.CatVomit3 14:49, September 18, 2009 (UTC)
