You can remove stuff if you like just by clicking the "edit" link at the top of the page and editing it like any other page. An alternative is to move older posts into an archive, which is what many users do so they have a record of past conversations. See Wikipedia:How to archive a talk page. Some wikis have policies relating to this. I don't know of any on swfanon. Usually people won't object if you move the content to Special:Mytalk/Archive though. 17:57, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

It depends what sort of computer you have. Often Ctrl and X while highlighting some text will cut it and Ctrl and V will paste it. See Cut, copy and paste. However, people usually only archive a page when it gets very long, so you don't really need to worry about having to do this already. Angela ^talk 19:12, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
