Catherine, a recent change of yours to the description of the d20NPCs wiki indicated that the wiki was inactive/abandoned. Was that a mistake included with updating the format of that page? According to the information about abandoned wikis, that notice would have been put on the main page of the wiki as well, and I don't see that there. I have not personally added content in a while, but the wiki has been active and I daily monitor the recent changes for spam/vandalism/people with questions. So, I've removed the 'abandoned' tag off the description page for the d20NPCs wiki, as I intent to still be active on that wiki. --MidnightLightning 17:51, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

It can be done if you really want it, but it might make your project harder for readers to find. We have found that wikis get a lot more visitors if the wiki title includes the proper name of the topic -- that is, the words most people are likely to type into a search box when they want information on the topic. Wikia doesn't host general encyclopedias that cover all topics -- for that you will want to contribute to http://pt.wikipedia.org

You might also want to create a mini-wiki for your group at http://scratchpad.wikia.com or http://borrador.wikia.com . If it is a university group, you may create as many pages as you want at http://educacao.wikia.com

Otherwise, please try to submit a new request which explains very clearly (in your own language) what specific topic you want to discuss. User:Zuirdj speaks Spanish and Portuguese so if you submit something which falls within our Wikia creation policy, we should be able to approve it. Hi, I just wanted to know. Is there some way to remove the advertisements banners that are on the top of the main page of my wiki? Is it allowed? I don't know if there is some advertisement policy that makes them mandatory or something. I don't have anything against them, well, I didn't until it started showing adds for some rather disgusting stuff. Like for uhm... enhancements of certain male organs and what not. And I can't say its very appealing to go to a wiki and see a big flashing banner that asks if you want to make said organs bigger in big bright flashing letters. Sorry, but can you please go to Lego Fanon and unprotect its main page? The main page was vandalized by an administrator with only two bad-faith edits. Minimariolover10 is known for angry personal attacks there and was blocked due to that, so I don't know why they made him an administrator. Hi CatherineMunro its Rod12 I'm here asking you if I can adopt and have the admin rights to the Green Lantern Wiki. The reason why I'm asking is the user that creator of the site originally hasn't been on the site in ages and he hasn't done any editing in ages. Also the editing on the site has slowed down and I want to try and pick it back up and improve the site more. I've been wanting to adopt this site for a long time because the user who created the site doesn't seem committed enough to want and see it improve and I real want to see it improve. This site will also help me because I can now have Green Arrow, Green Lantern and The Flash all connected because in the comic books there all known for being best friends and there always seen in the comics together. On my other sites The Martian Manhunter site has a total of 112 articles/pages and the site is starting to grow with other users coming and the same goes for my other two site The Flash site with 216 total articles/pages and the Green Arrow site my very first site has a total of 166 total articles an pages. My friend and partner on all these sites user Doomlurker will be the main one helping me improve the site and since the site does have alot of user on the site just not of them doing work recently hopefully with this change they will help in the improvement of the site and other new users will join as well. Hopefully you will allow me to adopt and have the admin rights to the Green Lantern wiki site because I'm excited at the idea of improving the site and bring it back to life. It has gone inactive and I would like to acquire admin rights so i can improve it further. The current admin is never online and there is only so much i can do to improve it as a user not an admin. If you allow me to be admin i will do my very best to improve the wiki to the standard of the other wikis that i am admin of. As I am admin of the Batman Wiki I think it is logical for me to adopt Wonder Woman because of the DC Trinity and as the original creator appears to be uninterested in working on the site I would be pleased by being given admin rights. I was recently going through the User rights management on the Rome Total War wiki and have noticed that even though I'm an Administrator and a Bureaucrat not all functions are available. Do you know why the editing interface for looking at history was changed from "Previous diff" and "Next diff" to "Older edit" and "Newer edit" respectively, and what other changes occured a few weeks ago during maintenance? This is just my opinion, but the way I like it best is how Wikipedia has it with "Previous edit" and "Next edit". Would it be possible for Wikia to adopt that? Dear Sir/Madam,

I concur to the action of Club Penguin Fanon receiving spotlight. I am a user at Club Penguin Fanon and I believe it is not ready for spotlight yet. If you disagree with the webmaster (who is Happyface141), he will put you on a strike, and does childish actions to get his way. Also, there are a lot of restrictions with articles. If it is not related to one particular article known as the USA, it is downgraded and ridiculed, and then claiming that it needs more club penguin in the article. Club Penguin Fanon needs to broaden their horizons beyond one article, and allow new users to explore their minds and let their imaginations go wild. Happyface141 appears as threatening, and unfriendly to some users. Checking on the block list, a user has been blocked for one day, and I will quote the reason; "bad grammer" this is hypocrisy, as it is spellt grammar.

In my opinion, Club Penguin Fanon needs to improve on the following things;

• Tolerance (This is a major issue, disputes should be settled via calm talking NOT by blocking/deletion. Blocking/deletion should only be used as a last resort, or if a user persists. Threatening people and unfair punishment will only get a negative reaction, and will make the user do repeat offenses.)
• Reduce Limits (Another major issue, new users will come to write new articles and if it is deemed as low quality because it does not contain the USA, this may put them off.)
• Power (This issue is based solely on the webmasters themselves. The webmasters are in a position of power. Using that power requires you to maintain the wikia to a high standard, not going on a block/delete parade. Webmasters administrative powers should only be used in dire situations.)

Once these issues have been fixed, I am confident that Club Penguin Fanon Wikia will be a successful candidate for a spotlight.

I've been using AutowikiBrowser to change a "word" in many pages on fr.3d.wikia.com today and i discovered something weird. The software (AWB) say that my bot account (Vorlax1) has the bot flag, this is ok, but it doesn't show as a bot in the recents changes on fr.3d. It's not urgent matter, but i'd be glad when you find the time to check this minor problem (or ask another staff to check it out). Helo, I seem to have a prob on the mash wiki I was looking around being fan of mash and I noticed that some of the pages were copped from Wikipedia with no sine of them giving credit to Wikipedia. Hello, I'm 4th hale, one of the sysops at the CPW.

Could you please come over and sort us out? Our co-webmaster, TurtleShroom, has declared himself a dictator, and he and the Turtlenators or something of the like, who are supposed to be his loyalists are bombarding all the people who oppose the dictatorship with unpleasant messages, notably Alex White. Barkjon, the other Co-webmaster hopes TurtleShroom is joking about this whole Dictatorship thing but I really don't know what's happening. First TurtleShroom deleted the rules, which were constantly being complained about, as they prohibeted homsexuals from editing the wiki as well as that Satanists could not say they were Satanists. In a nutshell, rules extracted from he bible. Then he uploaded a picture that said "The Turtle has no right to rule", then after a while uploaded a picture that stated something along the lines of Webmaster Dictator Turtleshroom: You can't get rid of me that easily! The Turtlenators now constantly now say "Hail TurtleShroom"!

both talk about exactly the same subject. But I suspect the people at each wiki don't even know about each other.

What can you and I do to encourage the people of each wiki to work together with the people from the other wiki (meatball: BarnRaising), rather than stay in their own little wiki: WalledGarden ? Firstly, on the wikia site I founded: http://civrevolution.wikia.com; I would like to have a little message at the bottom of the editing pages reminding people to enter a summary but I don't know how to do it.

Secondly, I've just started editing at http://infiniteundiscovery.wikia.com which look completely unactive; however there doesn't seem to be any way to get a rich text editing box, like I have on the other wikia. I know I can't ask for admin rights on this wikia site for another 2 months or so, but is there any way you can get a rich text editing box (I think that's what it's called) to appear on the infinite undiscovery wikia as I find those to be continually useful, especially for first time users.

I'm an administrator on SWGames and we'd like to arrange a merge of the innactive, partially vandalised, and small Star Wars Battlegrounds wiki. On SWGames we have no information really on the battlegrounds series, and would benefit from a merge, whereas the battlegrounds wiki isn't doing anything at all. Hello Catherine, I have a question about the Constructed Mythology Wiki that is usually found at [4]. But, every time I try to visit the wiki, I am brought to the Constructed Fantasy Worlds Wiki. I think that this may have something to do with a proposal set for a change in the wiki's policy. No external images, that were not created by the author of an article may be used. The proposal was to allow external images if they are properly sourced and licensed. The proposal passsed. The founder and only administrator/bureaucrat of the wiki said that the wiki is now pointless and he has not made an edit since this. I believe that he has something to do with this. Somehow, he has made it to where the wiki is not accessable by me on this account. I can visit there as an IP or on a different account. But, this account cannot visit the wiki. Can you help me? [edit] Unrestricted Bureaucrat on ConMyth

Hello. I am speaking on behalf of the users at Constructed Mythology (ConMyth) (not necessarily with their consent, but something has to be done). We have a bureaucrat on who is "running wild" and has been making edits without any sort of consent, including (but not limited to):

• Threatening to leave the wiki over a small (and seemingly irrelevant) issue (see below).
• Locking his talk page and replacing it with a message (again, see below).
• Locking many of the pages he created (I think).
• Banning a user from the wiki.

It started when this particular Bureaucrat (Mighty Erick) created the wiki, it seems. He had left other similar wikis because they were using external images (as in, images that aren't the user's creation), and he says he created ConMyth in order to not use external images -- at all. Move to recent events over this month, and a user (Mattken3) was posting external images (of relevance, too). Once Mighty Erick found out about this, he suggested that he could make images that would replace Mattken3's images. Mattken3 didn't like this idea, and respectfully began a debate as to why he should be allowed to use external images. Other users got into the debate as well (including myself), and we put it to a vote as to whether we should include external images. When the vote was announced, though, Mighty Erick threatened to leave the wiki and make another one - for the same purpose. We continued to go about our business, and eventually, the vote (which still hasn't ended, it seems) was more in the favor of Mattken3 (please note that past this is complete speculation). Mighty Erick seems to be angry at this point, and locked his talk page and many pages he created. We have no way to contact him at this point, except for a user-made Talk page for him. On a final note, he seems to have banned Mattken3 from the wiki, because Mattken3 says he gets redirected to another one of Mighty Erick's wikis, and can only use his IP address to edit pages, at this point.

I'm sorry for the massive wall of text above; I felt I needed to explain the situation. My point is, will you (or one of Wikia's admins) help with the situation? I think we either need to find a way to contact Mighty Erick (or simply get his attention drawn to the wiki), or remove his Bureaucrat rights. I personally don't want him so angry he leaves for sure, because he seems to be the backbone that holds the wiki together, so the latter might be a last resort.

I should like to note that i support both Mattkenn3 and Sir Trekie on this topic. As the second most active and with the most pages (Besides Erick) i feel that each and every user on Conmyth should be able to have a voice and and at least some say on the way the wiki is run. At this time Erick has taken things too far and i feel something (not too drastic) should be done. While Erick is usually a very good administrator and artist in Paint he has proven himself to be remarkable stubborn and will often leave a wiki and make another just because of a small issue. So anyway, i hope something can be done and that Erick stays on Conmyth as he holds us all together.

Hello there! I'm Howdychicken. In December I think, I'd incorrectly requested adminship on the Adoptions page. Oops! Anyway, I took your advice regarding the fact that I should really not ask for it at Central Wikia, but instead ask C Teng at the Artemis Fowl wiki, as he is the only admin left. I did, however, he regretted to say that he didn't have that power, and that the only user who did was KFan II, now "retired". Together, C Teng and I came up with the idea of starting a Requests for Adminship page, a page where any user could post their pitch, then let the community discuss the possibility of that user gaining admin rights. See the page here. On its talk page, any user can either support or deny a request, giving their reasons if willing. Currently there are two users with requests: myself and McLovinn. I've talked to other Wikia helpers and they say that a good five to ten yes-votes should do in our community to be enough to get admin super powers. Hello, Catherine Munro. I would like to ask you for a favour. I was wondering how well my wiki was doing, and I was curious to see how it compares with other wikis. I would like to ask you if you could evaluate it. Sort of tell me and the users how well it is doing, how close it is to a Spotlight, what should be improved, what's good. We started back in October, and now have a total of 4 good proper active users. One, Sk8rbluscat, got banned however for a period of time, and now we only have 3. Us at the Road Trip Adventure Wiki are trying our best to invite people. We know many many people who can help us, and most invites are pending.

We are also considering moving the wiki, as it is about a game - which is in a LARGE series of games and we would like to make it a wiki about that series for more users and pages. After evaluating, could you help us and give us advise about the move. It's just that you would be the best user to do it, but if you can't could you reffer another user who is suitable for the job. About a month or so ago, a user was the first person to ask to adopt the recently vacated position of admin. He/she was the only person to do so for about four days until I came along and was granted admin rights. However, this person had already started "taking over" as it were, and had actually blanked the Main page and three other pages and marked them "under construction". He/she also edited his/her userpage to include his/her fake admin status, even though he/she still has no admin rights and knows this fact.

I think the person is being deliberately malicious, but I do not want to look like I am lording my admin powers or banning people unfairly. Is it allowed to ban this user?

• Secondly, I copied a template from the Combine Overwiki for my levels, they use it for the chapters. I altered the names and titles for my use and when I applied the template to one of my levels, it didn't come out right. It should be on the right-hand side next to the writing. Instead it's above the writing. What is wrong with it??

The logo you uploaded is a little on the large size. Ideally, a logo should not be larger than 155 pixels by 155 pixels in size. The width can be a large as 216 pixels, but anything larger than 155 pixels will get cut off in older skins like MonoBook. Hi, there's a problem with importing Wikipedia pages into the Annex that just started happening today. The same revisions are being imported two or three times simultaneously, creating duplicates and triplicates of the same revision, as can be seen here. This has happened with three pages so far. This has occurred when the connection timed out instead of a confirmation message appearing (before today when it timed out, there was no revision duplication problem). Oh, I'm an admin on the FunOrb Wiki, and I find it horribly unjust as well. We have this one person (dafoxdude) who always first vandalises as fast as possible until he's blocked, then changes his IP. (These attacks usually come in spurts.) Hello. I'm not necessarily interested in adopting a wiki, but I'm speaking in regards to the MechScape Wiki. At present I have been monitoring the site of late and with the aid of myself and another editor we are vastly trying to expand it so it will be ready for the games release. With this said, I would need admin rights for the changes I am trying to implement and I am having trouble getting the co-operation of the admins there at present. As a small wiki there is only one 'crat who is semi-active and another user requesting 'crat who indicates he is retiring and is leaving me, so to quote, "in charge" of the wiki. I do not wish to be "in charge", but I would appreciate the bureaucrat tools on this site so I can fully output my experience on this wiki without needing to request it from sysops who are half active or don't want to follow through with the requests because "it's too much to read" as quoted with IM I had with a sysop there. I am trying to make these changes so when we begin to attract an audience and other users it will be easier for them to contribute but when I have to request this help from sysops who don't want to help, such as changing MediaWiki, Common.js, protections, move's, forum changes, etc... it's hard to get them to do it...then when I have to explain to them how to do it..it would just be beneficial to the wiki if I could have these rights. I am a sysop on the RuneScape Wiki, so I am well experienced with the additional tools, and it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the time to listen to my query. Sure! I used to edit a lot the very first Userpedias (The EditThis and Scribblewiki (this one had 20,000 articles), after the Scribblewiki server crash I became inactive because all the new hosts they found weren't good. When I discovered Wikia Userpedia, I was too latethey had locked it. Now that Angela unlocked it, I'm editing, making new articles and fixing others. I really would like to be a steward to take care of it and gather users (I'm not telling to anyone it's unlocked yet because vandals might come and there's no sysop).

Administrators have the ability to stop a user from editing for any duration. However, sysops are only allowed to block users, or ban users, if an offense is made to disrupt the wiki. Mrs. Munro, I've been adding to several Wikia sites for sometime now and even created one to the "Unsolved Mysteries" TV series, but once I run through the known research I have for that series, I was interested in doing another Wikia to the Our Gang/Little Rascals series, creating bios on the child stars, their characters, series descriptions and anything else. Mr Marcin Niewalda is the famous (in polish Internet) founder, creator and sponsor of the ultra-conservative catholic encyclopedia called "Okiem" ("With Eye") (www.okiem.pl). He designed above 90% of its content. His works were oft commented, posted and laughed off in Internet; that is the reason why he is so famous in our Nonsensopedia. Now we have a problem: Mr Niewalda declarated few days ago, that he made an official stepback from his encyclopedia (he is no longer an editor or sponsor) and also from political and public sphere. Now he calls himself as "not-public person". This is for me like Jimbo Wales would turn away to "non-public life" and act like he never existed.

Right, when I upload an image on RuneScape Wikia and choose a category for it.. then there's a heading added to the file page; ==Category==. But categories are added at the bottom of the file page. We will proceed with the import of german and spanish location and place names into Genealogy. In a few months we may be at least marginally a multilingual wikia. I did an earlier approach in 2007 that I was not at all happy with due to performance issues and complexity for contributors. All the same chap. How do we know if they were born in the same place at a similar time? Well, Frederick Hendrick's life events happenned in The Hague, but records from spanish descendants would list this place as es:La Haya, the germans and dutch call it de/nl:Den Haga, but then there is also it:L'Aia, pt:Haia. Even if familypedia had contributors in a single language, we would still require normalization of these names into a single common namespace. This is goes beyond traditional text normalization that eliminates variations due to text encoding (non unicode) or morphological variations (stemming) in a given language. Familypedia requires normalization of these proper names into a common semantic space that transcends language boundaries. All attributes on a place or person will be held in a single common place (using semantic mediawiki properties) , with all language variations stored in that same place.

Hello Catherine! I've been thinking about this for a while and I think it's time to ask your help. I founded it.deadoralive.wikia and everything is fine. DOA is a videogame series developed by Team Ninja. Team Ninja also developed the NEW Ninja Gaiden series and the DOA Xtreme series.

To give a better understanding to our users, in it.doa we also talk about Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive Xtreme, because, as a said, they share the same universe and provide us different information. Some characters also appear in both series (Ryu Hayabusa & Ayane).

The problem is: DOA series is getting stucked (4 videogames with many remakes), and NG series is counting 3 games with other 3 remakes and DOAX counts 2 titles. it.doa is becoming more and more oriented to NG and DOAX series. I'm currently the only member on the wiki (sadly) so I guess you don't need a community approval. This is my question: can you change the name of the wikia from it.deadoralive.wikia.com to it.teamninja.wikia.com (Team NINJA or Team Ninja)?

I live not so far from a shopping/passing through street where two tramlines run! :) I have the benefit to use them freely; all tramlines from the company "De Lijn" which run also in the city of Gent and at our coast line; unfortunately not the ones from the company "MIVB/STIB" which run in our capital city Brussels... Hi, I was hoping you'd troubleshoot some templates I'm trying to port from one wiki to another. From starwars.wikia.com to elderscrolls.wikia.com The original templates are here and here. They make little icons appear in the corner to indicate which era the article is from. I've ported them to elderscrolls wiki here and here. Now I've ported many of the templates over and the only ones that seem to have trouble working is the ones involving things appearing in the top corner of pages. Hello Catherine, I am Andrewrox. I am here to report many incidents about a user named Amy Cotton. You may know here for vandalizing, making sockpuppets and swearing at users. Oh and don't forget getting blocked from 3 wikis. (Pokemon, Animal Crossing and a couple of days ago: Kingdom Hearts Wiki). She has cussed out many innocent users and she is an extremely good liar. Also, she has been making other wikis based off the wikis she got blocked from: - She only made like 4 edits, http://pokemalia.wikia.com/wiki/, and now the http://lightvdarkness.wikia.com/wiki/. On these wikis (ESPECIALLY THE LIGHT V DARKNESS WIKI) she has been blocking users who know she is lying about things. Immediately after the Animal Crossing and Pokemon blocks, she posts on KHwiki false stuff about what happened on other wikis. People were really sympathetic and believed here. Then when me and "Guardian Soul" found some info and I gave her a message, she swore (and not explaining herself) and left. Some users started a petition but the smart users just laughed and showed users the evidence. Days later she came back with malicious news: Pregnant. Me and Azul (KHwiki ADMIN) found out evidence and it did not match up. Very funny. First she said it was a boyfriend, then she said it was some guy that spiked her drink and the latest one was that it was a friendly schoolmate. She knows how to lie. When we questioned her she left again. She got blocked for rudeness, lying, rumour making and Sockpuppeting. <LOOK AT THIS>. i want you to read all of it becuase I have the evidence. The next day she came back as another IP and vandalized pages. We blocked that IP, but she came back and vandalized again. Azul went to the Sims wiki to ask her questions, but she ignored him. Amy Cotton is known for calling people "trolls" and "vandals" when they actually do nothing wrong. Here are the transcripts of it all: Catherine, YOU NEED TO READ THIS. Also, she has been swearing at people and deleting their posts.

THIS IS IMPORTANT- On the Animalia wiki Amy only made a few edits and blocked people that she cursed. At the Pokemalia wiki she made a crappy logo and blocked people she called "Heartless". here is the list of people that were blocked at the new KHwiki:

Funnily enough, none of those users (including me) did not make an edit. The only reason why the were blocked is becuase she knows that we know about her lies. Here is the stuff that she did at the Pokemon and Animal Crossing wikis. Once again, you need to read all of it and click on ALL the links. That is all very interesting. the user Larxene is amy's sister, Kaylee. But... Kaylee Anne and Emilyc are sockpuppets of Miss Cotton. It is annoying the hell out of the wikis. If you want more info, I can send you an email with information that was not said here. I sent the email to a sims wiki admin: Matta Jr.

So what I am asking is: Can you reconsider keeping the Lightvdarkness wiki? This wiki's boss (Cotton) has been blocking people for no reason and stealing our images. It doesnt even have 20 articles and it wont get to 100. This wiki has angered the Kingdom Hearts Wiki in general. Please do something, there shouldn't be 2 wikis for the same thing, especially becuase the only reason it was made was to bully users and also becuase she got blocked from the Kingdom Hearts Wiki. You need to delete it, it has caused nothing but trouble. You should talk to her. Another funny thing is that hilarious is that when she gets mad she tells the Sims Wiki that it is becuase of her "Autism", which I doubt she even has.
