Sorry, all I "know" (kinda wrong word there) about Inheritance trilogy is that Eragon seems to be a part of it and the movie just premiered some time ago in Finland and critics says that the movie was "lame" and "lousy" etc. I'm terribly sorry. :( --Jack Phoenix

Blurb
What's a blurb? Brain40 [talk] [my domain]
- Okay. Here we go:
The Gun Wiki will detail information about the earliest known firearms dating back to the 1300's and before, to the most recent and modern guns and firearms of the 21st century. It includes articles about other things relating to firearms as well, including famous gun inventors (John Browning, Samuel Colt, etc.), gun politics, gun laws, modern firearm upgrades, gun history, and different lists and galleries that give visual aids and diagrams.
You can help by creating more articles relating to Gun politics (as well as everything else), as well as help to spread the word about the wiki, since there are many gun enthusiasts around the web that would be willing to help. Another need of the Gun Wiki that you can help with, is helping to find and upload more firearms diagrams to the wiki, to help give other users good interpretations of the inside parts of guns, (both modern and old).
Who is the project coordinator? GHe (Talk) 21:54, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- Jocke Pirat (if by coordinator you mean head of the wiki). Okay, check out the blurb now. Brain40 [talk] [my domain]

Page acceptance
When two pages of similar content are submitted within a few days of each other, does permission get granted to the one proposed first? Or is it based on scope/ other criteria? Thanks for any information you can pass on!——Chatastic 01:48, 5 February 2007 (UTC).
- In such cases like the two Sherlock Holmes requests, it would actually be better to have two co-founders who both get sysop/bureaucrat rights since both would deserve them and should one become inactive, the other can take over and still maintain the wiki. Such cases have happened in the past, so it's likely that it will occur for these two requests too. GHe (Talk) 02:08, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

No, You have it all wrong. My family had been wanting to create one for a while. they decided that that day would be a good day for them to join because they wanted to support me. Please reconsider letting me be a leader at swgaming. Thanks Quinlanfan
We got it figured out. I was banned because my family created accounts and supported me. That is called sock puppeting when something like that happens. It was not my fault. Please, can I still be a leader at swgaming wiki after I have edited a lot. Please let me know. Thanks Quinlanfan 23:46, 24 February 2007 (UTC) P.S. Have you ever been in a tornado? Because I think we are about to have one. It is really windy and dark.
- Feel free to continue to contribute to swgames. Whether you will become an admin/bureaucrat there is up to the staff, not me. However, do note that the sock/meatpuppetting on the Requests wiki is not a good example of a "leader" and/or administrator and/or bureaucrat. GHe (Talk) 00:07, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

vandal!!!
on star wars gaming wiki someone has vandalized the user list! I think this wiki is out of control! Can I be an admin there so I can keep it under control. Please see: http://swgames.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Listusers Quinlanfan 17:08, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, there's not much we can do about that. Special:Listusers is an automatically generated list of all users on Wikia (as it's a shared database), and vandals use the lower value characters to get to the top of the list so they can deface it with inappropriate user names. A while back, they tested filtering the users list, but that drastically slowed down the loading of those pages. So I'm not sure when the problem will be solved. GHe (Talk) 17:12, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

- There should be a delete tab at the top of the page along with all the other tabs. GHe (Talk) 20:40, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
It is a special page. In our rules is clearly states that there can be NO curse words, but the userlist page is FULL of curse words. If I give you a link could you delete it? We already have an active user list. We dont need two. Quinlanfan 20:47, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, GHe, for spamming your talk page but this made me laugh! :D
- Special:Listusers is a MediaWiki page, a special page and not a normal page and thus, it cannot be deleted. Period. --Jack Phoenix (Contact) 20:51, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
On SWgaming wiki they deleted the page. How do I delete or erase it? THanks, Quinlanfan 20:58, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Problem creating a wiki
Hello,
I'm trying to create the main page of a wiki proyect, which I named "Univlibre", but two things happen: first, the url doesn't exist, Wikia tells me that page does not exist; second, when I try againt to apply the name of the wiki, which would be "univlibre", I see a message explaining that the name has already been taken, or some sort of problem has happened; in third place, when I try to edit a page named "Univlibre", inmediatly a message above the text I had edited tells that there an elimination request.
Please, I would like to know how to solve this troubles, in order to start the wiki proyect.
--Astiam 21:43, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hi. I noticed that you applied for a wiki at w:c:requests:Univlibre. Currently, the wiki hasn't been approved/created yet, which is why the URL doesn't exist. If a Wikia staff approves your request, he/she will make the wiki as well as create the description page on this wiki. So you could either wait for your request to be processed, or you could create a mini wiki at Scratchpad where you could start creating content. If your request does go through, the content there can then be easily transferred onto the newly created wiki. GHe (Talk) 21:53, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Jurassic Park wiki
Hi, I have just reecently discovered the Jurassic park Wiki. It has no leaders and I was wondering if I could be a Bureaucrat there. There is one other user there as well and I would like to make him an admin. Please let me know what you think. Until then I will contribute there for a while. Please let me know ASAP. thanks a lot, Chaosman92 15:20, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- I see that you're quite new to that wiki. It would be a good idea for you to first contribute for a week or two, and then ask a staff for adminship/bureaucratship. Input from the community/others might also be a good idea. GHe (Talk) 17:22, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
I have been on there for a week or two but I just now got serious about editing this. When do you suggest that I come back to ask you? Thanks a lot, Chaosman92 20:07, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- Perhaps in a few days to a week, or when you have a decent amount of contributions and feel established in the wiki. GHe (Talk) 21:41, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi. I also come from the Jurassic Park wiki and I'm not exaggerating when I say that Chaosman92 and I are the only ones there. I feel that I have contributed a lot and I could benefit the wiki as an admin. --Vinny2 22:22, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- Both of you should continue to contribute to the wiki and try to contact the founder in the meantime. You're both quite new and neither of you have more than 50 edits yet. If you're unable to contact the founder in a week or so, then you can request adoption via Special:Contact. GHe (Talk) 22:49, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Questions about IRC...
Hello, I am James-001(Halopedia) and I was wondering what does one have to do to be given CMDOP or CMDVOICE in the IRC? I only ask because of your post on the forum about asking for channel access. Peace. {{subst:User:James-001/Sig}} 06:45, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, I think there should be some sort of system on the forum to deal with requests to avoid everybody asking for everything and me making the final decision... Perhaps there should be some sort of table-format form where the user gives the registered IRC nickname, desired access, and administrators' approval (I.e. accept/deny/change in value), as well as any additional comments that may arise. That way, all I have to do is carry out the final decision instead of being in the decision making process, which would make it more fair. GHe (Talk) 16:19, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

Two in one day :-O - could you check Isyou (talk • contribs), he appears to be asking regular questions here but does stuff like this on Habbo (thanks for the revert by the way :-D). He might be up to the same stuff elsewhere, vandalizing some wikis and making legit edits to others. Scottch 02:08, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm, actually on Habbo he made some legit edits. Maybe his account was hijacked. If that's the case, lookupcontribs might be pointless... I'm not sure, maybe I'll ask a staff member if checkuser would be useful or something. Weird. Scottch 02:20, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
Apparently rapid deletion of irrelevant pages without giving them the benefit of the doubt for a while using template:i
Hi! Just noticed your very recent deletion of pages from User:AnupamSaraph. Seemed to me, from what the page contents were, that he or she might have turned into a keen contributor to cities:. As the pages have gone, the person has no contribution history, so I haven't been able to see (in the usual easy way) how long the pages existed.
Has the system of giving irrelevant pages about a week with template:i on them been abandoned? I see you gave him or her the standard welcome on User talk:AnupamSaraph but in your additional comments made no suggestion about looking at the messages placed on the offending pages, so I presume you didn't give them template:i. Seems a pity to be hasty with someone who might have innocently thought he or she was doing something good.
Robin Patterson 13:03, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hi. I believe that those pages fell under CSD #4 (Very short pages with little or no context). All of the three pages had only one edit to each, and those were (as stated in the deletion summary):
Page Content USA United States of America USA/New York New York USA/New York/New York City of New York
As you can see, the actual content of those pages were basically the page titles themselves. GHe (Talk) 15:53, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
- OK, thanks; I'll study CSD #4. Robin Patterson 11:32, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- Now I have looked also at the WP CSD, noting that it is not the same as ours. Our Wikia:Candidates_for_speedy_deletion includes these relevant-looking paragraphs, for example:
- You can consider turning problematic pages into relevant redirects as an alternative to deletion.
- Ideally, when an admin deletes a test page or other page with no useful content, it is a good idea to put a note on the author's talk page explaining things, and preserving the deleted content, pointing them to the sandbox in cases of tests. If a page is being deleted because it was mistakenly added to the Central Wikia, leave a {{placement}} notice on the talk page of the user who added the content here.
- Now I have looked also at the WP CSD, noting that it is not the same as ours. Our Wikia:Candidates_for_speedy_deletion includes these relevant-looking paragraphs, for example:
- Your stern "Note" didn't follow the "preserving" and "pointing" parts of the above "ideal" procedure, but that's not compulsory.
- It's not clear to me that those pages matched our CSD #4 or any other CSD. Looked to me much more like a careful attempt to start a meaningful set of pages, just an honest mistake, as mentioned in the last sentence above. (They look very like the sort of thing some of my co-workers on Genealogy: have been creating, but that username isn't used there.) Maybe that last sentence of our policy is due for revision? Maybe I should start a Forum:Pages mistakenly added to the Central Wikia?
- Anyway, I have sent an email to that user to see where he or she might find a good place in Wikia to be creative.
- Kind regards. -- Robin Patterson 13:16, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- First of all, there wasn't really content to preserve in that specific situation, unless you'd prefer it if something like
Page Content USA United States of America USA/New York New York USA/New York/New York City of New York
- or a link to the deletion summary was left on the user's talk page (which I felt unnecessary and unsuitable for that case because that would, in a way, imply that the user does not remember the names of the 3 places he/she created pages on, which may be insulting: "
Hi! In case you forgot, here are the page titles with their respective abbreviation expansion: USA->United States of America, USA/New York->New York, USA/New York/New York->City of New York"). To be honest, I feel that I'm quite generous with {{i}}, and if those pages had a paragraph or even a few sentences, I would've used it and allow time to transfer actual informational content.
- or a link to the deletion summary was left on the user's talk page (which I felt unnecessary and unsuitable for that case because that would, in a way, imply that the user does not remember the names of the 3 places he/she created pages on, which may be insulting: "
- As for the "pointing" part, I noticed that it wasn't the first time the user saw a wiki, as he/she already requested the Government wiki (which was approved). Therefore, I felt that he/she already knew what he/she will be doing (the Government wiki) and that it might not be entirely necessary to direct him/her to Scratchpad or the Requests wiki (since that already took place!).
- One could argue that all pages, no matter how short, can theoretically be improved and made meaningful. Therefore, if a user comes along and makes pages like:
Page (ONLY) Content NYDP New York Police Department FDNY Fire Department (of) New York LAPD Los Angeles Police Department A-Z Uppercase letters a-z Lowercase letters ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ The Alphabet 0-9 Digits :-) Smile :-( Frown :'( Cry LOL Laugh out loud ß ſs/Eszett WOW World of Warcraft, or, Willy on Wheels!
- they should all be {{i}}'d and deleted only after a full 7 days, because they could be careful attempts to start a meaningful set of pages about common everyday life abbreviations (and they all have the potential of great expansion) and simply an honest mistake, and they shouldn't be speedied because they aren't really vandalism/spam/anything offensive? (The examples are not much different from actual pages, which were basically stating the abbreviation of titles that are common in everyday life.) In that case, one would have to treat any page creation, no matter how small, as an opportunity for expansion, so what good is {{delete}}? The only problem in that system is that there might be an overflow of {{i}}'s, especially if this becomes more common with more people (I'm not sure if pages with similar content would go through an AfD or a PROD on Wikipedia). Then again, if the intent is to allow time on all page creations (no matter how small), what makes 7 days a long enough period? Who knows, the newcomer might simply be dropping by, but won't get to see the notice until the 8th day due to a busy week, putting the original intention in vain and yielding the same results as an earlier deletion. Wouldn't that be a pity for somebody doing something good?
Account called GHe on my wiki
Hi GHe, you probably haven't heard of my very own wiki (that has the main theme of anti-vandalism in Wikia, not mainly about me :P), so I trust that User:GHe is a vandal, or am I mistaken? Also, as a channel staffer/owner (of some channels), please register an account there, inform me somehow that it really is you and we'll use Renameuser to settle this, hopefully. The last time I renamed an user, it caused that nobody could access the accounts... --Jack Phoenix (Contact) 05:21, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
- No, that's definitely not me. And I can see that there are impostors of Wookieepedia/Wikipedia admin/bureaucrat as well as Wikimedia stewards. I'm really busy this week (which explains why I'm not really on IRC or actively working on wiki stuff), so I might not have a chance to deal with this until the weekend or even next week. :S GHe (Talk) 16:18, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
- I understand that very well. Anyway, the vandals have been blocked and renamed, and I also managed to install CheckUser and Oversight. So, feel free to create an account there when you have time and inform me. :)
- Also, regarding your memo...it was hard to read, use my talk page, e-mail or something else than that. :P Anyway, I've got an update: one admin of the OSS Wikia is thinking of merging two other open source software-related wikis to it and he told me that they'd have a blurb on the next week. Too bad WarWiki's still been too long on the main page. --Jack Phoenix (Contact) 17:44, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
Hi, GHe. Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my Wikia. I granted you rollback rights so you can revert vandalism faster. Thanks again! --Ham Solo talk to the Ham! "You're all clear, kid!" 20:50, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Adminship
Greetings. You may already know me, but I am Caboose, a prominent member of several wikis, more notably the Halopedia. Anyway, I have recently stumbled across the abandoned Red vs Blue Wiki and have decided to "adopt" it, mostly due to my love for the series. As there is no active administrator present, I am requesting adminship for this wiki to further enhance my editing abilities.
Please respond as soon as possible, although I understand you are probably very very busy --CabooseTalk
- I see that you're quite new to that wiki. It would be a good idea for you to first contribute for at least two weeks, and then ask a staff for adminship/bureaucratship. Input from the community/others (if applicable) might also be a good idea. GHe (Talk) 05:44, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Halopedia IRC Access
In #halopedia, I've noticed that a lot of people have access who really aren't exactly authoritarian on the actual wiki... GuiltySpark117, sp_117, Phil_E, even Relentless can kick, and Phil_E and Relentless have been abusing it, to some extent.... also, who are GuiltySpark117 and sp_117, anyway, and why are they higher than you? I don't even know who they are on the wiki.... Also, as my run for adminship is succeeding, and I will probably be an admin soon, it's only fitting that I have a similar access level on the IRC, just in case anyone starts just kicking random people like earlier today... =D güéߣ¥-πéҐ∫øñ¥-†ħîИg¥ 23:01, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Test wiki
Yes, that's me ;-). I just wanted to ask somebody for sysop rights, but now it isn't anymore necessary. Thanks, SPQRobin 21:22, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Global CSS/JS
I think it *is* enabled, but horribly cached. I talked to TOR about this and he said he saw some major caching problems today. --Jack Phoenix (Contact) 16:18, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- Just a side note, it won't work on central (www.wikia.com) yet, and won't until it is upgraded to 1.10 alpha or higher. --Splarka (talk) 05:37, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
