[edit] About Putting Links
Hi, I'm sorry for broking the wiki rules when I don't realize. I'm still pretty new to Wikis so I'll be more polite next time. Thank you for cleaning up the mess for me.
What I am trying to do is just to encourage more collaboration among the gaming communities, by putting game info's link on good wikis, and putting links to good wiki on game info. (While I've added links on other wikis, I've added links on Gameinfo too. Creature's link is on Gameinfo's mainpage. But I apologize for adding links on both the front page and the description. ) My approach may be a bit wrong this time, but I hope we can promote our gaming community together in an acceptable way! =) --Eric 21:23, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
I like Creatures too, and will probably recommend it for the featured wiki next week. I just thought WikiMac should go first. I really appreciate the help I've received from both you and User:DavidFeng as I've started using wikis! I've learned a lot from you and from examples in the WikiMac and Creatures --CocoaZen 20:05, 16 Feb 2005 (GMT)
- Glad you like it! My personal feeling is that Creatures is more "complete" (due in part to its restricted scope), and therefore a better example for others wikis to follow in terms of building their community - especially in terms of attracting contributors, an area in which I think WikiMac has not been so successful. It'd also be nice to show the Creatures community that they have actually achieved something worthwhile - a lot of people (not me :-) are all "oh, the CC is dying, alack, alas . . .", and it's nice to have the occasional "first" to build up spirits.
- I guess it depends on what the admins want. If they want to feature something that needs more users to reach its full potential, then they might well choose WikiMac (although I feel WikiMac's main audience will be from the outside via search engines and the like, not due to internal promotion). If they want to showcase a Wiki that has grown really quickly due to the contribution of many users, and which has (I think) reached a reasonably mature state in just 6 weeks, I think Creatures is a better bet. But then, I would think that. ;-)
- Or they could decide to choose something completely different! *grin* We'll have to see how it goes . . . --GreenReaper(talk) 21:58, 16 Feb 2005 (GMT)
Hey! Tnxa for let me welcome! --Huhsunquy 23:07, 20 Feb 2005 (GMT)
[edit] Admin
You're now an admin. This is a bit earlier than the rules I made up state you should be (ie - less than a week) because I don't know if I'll have internet access this week, so wanted to make sure you and Tom had admin access to look after the wiki while I'm gone. Good luck. Angela 07:21, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Scratchpad Vandalism
Uhh . . . that wasn't vandalism, that was me making sure that other people didn't make the same mistake this guy did. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 20:07, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- No worries - thanks for caring enough about Wikicities to bother! --GreenReaper(talk) 20:19, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Talk:Main Page
Hey. This isn't anything important, but since you're a sysop I thought I'd ask you if you could carry out my request on the above page. Thanks! :) – Jello2 00:41, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Done. --GreenReaper(talk) 00:52, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for watching out for us. Rosie and I are just getting acquainted with wikicities. I was showing her how to add a category to her Alaska wiki user page the other day, but we didn't realize we weren't in the Alaska wiki like we thought we were. I didn't see a need for there to be an Alaskans category in the main wikicities namespace. Still trying to sort things out, I was just being tidy. You can leave it there if it isn't bothering anyone.
While I'm here I'll ask: If I want to clean out a category and remove it from the category index, can that be done? I created one that I don't think will be useful. --Doug 18:12, 24 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- I replied to this at alaska:User talk:DougN. Angela 20:53, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)

thx. :) Conny 13:58, 23 Apr 2005 (UTC).
[edit] Thanks!
Thanks for the repairs! I'm going to stop now, because I don't want to step on your fixes. --CocoaZen 16:51, 20 May 2005 (UTC)
- The edits those IPs made remind me of the GNAA's bot. :( – Jello2 18:25, 20 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] about my application
hello man. i applied for a wiki couple of weeks ago but i havent heard anything back. what happened to my application could you tell me, since you are an admin, if at all possible. my application was an economics wiki, i think i might have spoken about this with you on some chat client... --GregLoutsenko 22:35, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- This appears to have been created, although for some reason it's not in the wikicity links yet. --GreenReaper(talk) 09:03, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Thank you!
Thank you very much for your help! - upssdr talk
[edit] Featured Wikicity
Doom won for September. Since I don't know that much about it, I could use some help with the write-up. The current draft is at Featured Wikicity/Doom. I'm letting you and the other supporters know, so you can provide better input. I'll probably post it tomorrow. It could still be fixed then (yeay, Wiki technology), but you'd have to fix it three places: Featured Wikicity/Doom, Recently featured Wikicities and the main page. --CocoaZen 22:14, 7 Sep 2005 (UTC)
[edit] WikiFur
Thanks for taking care of the transition to the new featured Wikicity, WikiFur. --CocoaZen 01:40, 5 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- No problem! Sorry I didn't notice the previous message about Doom (although it seems I did go around and reorganize things a little later). --GreenReaper(talk) 16:24, 6 Dec 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Inter-wiki link
Wow, that was quick! Thanks. --203.110.29.30 10:23, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- No problem. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 15:29, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Muppet Wiki
Hi, Laurence -- I just wanted to follow up on our conversation on Muppet Wiki. I think you were left with the wrong impression about us, and I wouldn't want you to pass your misapprehension on to other people at Wikicities.
On my talk page, you said:
- That is also the root with my disagreement with your blocking policy - I think that it turns a certain proportion of people away unnecessarily and makes the place less successful than it could otherwise be. I may be wrong, but I look at the other wikis that succeed while allowing people to continue editing anonymously and I find it hard to believe.
You seem to think that Muppet Wiki isn't as successful as other wikis here, and actually it's the other way around. We're currently the #2 most successful Wikicity, with Star Wars at #1. After four months, Muppet Wiki has over 7600 articles, with 50 active contributors and over 500 edits a day.
By way of comparison, Creatures Wiki has 2400 pages, and gets about 30 edits a day. WikiFur has 3200 pages, and about 150 edits a day. Doctor Who has five active users, Mac has two, Doom has about ten, and Genealogy doesn't seem to have any. The current Featured Wiki, Radio Control, was abandoned, and now has one active user.
It looks like there's Star Wars as the most active Wikicity, and then there's Muppet Wiki, and then nobody else really comes close.
I would suggest that the people at Wikicities look at the way we run things at Muppet Wiki with an open mind. Our approach seems to be working better than almost anything else here. It's possible that the principles that you've inherited from Wikipedia don't apply to small niche wikis.
I think it would be fun to have a meeting on the IRC, with the Wikicities staff and our four admins, to talk about how Muppet Wiki could be used as a model for how to run a successful wiki. If you think that's a good idea, please let me know! -- Danny Toughpigs 13:24, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Title wiki
Hi GreenReaper! I have a question: July 13th I requested a Wiki named nl.24, with tile 24 Wiki NL. Now is my question: can I rename the title? Thank you. Adnergje 13:30, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- A staff member can (I think this was already delt with on IRC by sannse . . .) --GreenReaper(talk) 19:04, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks for helping with the branding survey
Thank you for completing the Wikia:Brand Audit User Survey. We really appreciate your responses. Lots of improvements and new features were suggested, and I hope you'll see these being implemented over time. The results are now being analysed by a PR firm, so you might see some interesting changes to the design of the site as a result. If you have any more feedback, we always welcome that in the Wikia forums. Angela (talk) 17:33, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[edit] Ericwan
Hi GreenReaper, I noticed you rolled back a bunch of those links to Gameinfo that Ericwan added to wiki descriptions. Did you know that Angela told him that was a good idea? If you were in on some conversation I missed, then sorry for my nitpicking :-) Scottch 09:07, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- I did, and I disagree. I am in the progress of replying on the same talk page. --GreenReaper(talk) 09:08, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] THANKS
Hey dude, thanks for your help today on the IRC channel. I don't agree necessarily w/ your advice (though I think my disagreement may be more based on lack of knowledge (and confidence) than anything else). I've replied to people who -- I just noticed ;-)!! left notes for me a while ago on my usertalk page, referring to what I gathered from our conversation. Please drop by if you a have a chance to tell me what you think (though in 24 hrs' may be better, since I will have made final the 'skeleton blueprint' onto the site, including the places/features that I want repeating everywhere :-)) Long live wikis, and wikia, and free knowledge, and peace and flower-power! :-) G/N --SylvstaB. 03:46, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] WikiBarn
Hey GreenReaper,
I'm an admin for WikiBarn and i'm inviting you to join WikiBarn, do you except?
Elbutler 21:44, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for the offer, but it's not really within my area of expertise. You might want to see if there are any forums, chat rooms or websites that are on the specific topic of this movie and ask them. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 21:46, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Recruiting
Hi, perhaps you can help me with something. How do i recruit for a wiki? I'm gonna go check out Help:Recruiting PBCZ!!!talk
- I suggest you drop by this article I made earlier for a start. See also w:c:Help:Category:Advice. --GreenReaper(talk) 00:41, October 29, 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks. But my sig looks fine. PBCZ!!!talk
- No, you are missing the terminating sup tag, as demonstrated by the fact that this text is smaller than the rest. --GreenReaper(talk) 00:45, October 29, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Signature
Because you helped me with MY signature, I'm gonna make you a colorful one. If you don't want it, just don't use it. --PBCZ!!! are YOU talkin' to me? My Stuff
