[edit] Thanks !

Hey, the new skin for the Castlevania Wiki is great ! The new logo is also great (and the bats too !) Thank you for taking time to help us ! -Chernabogue 09:53, 1 August 2009 (UTC) (Castlevania Wiki)

[edit] Assassin's Creed Wiki

Hi there, can I ask you to put in the code to enable the auto-refresh recent changes in Assassin's Creed Wiki? I can't edit the common.js... thanks in advance! ^^ - SilverSummonerTaLk 02:39, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Any chance we can get a change to the menu? Assassins Creed 2 weapons list points to Longsword, it should point to Swords & Maces. NinjaWeazel 05:31, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] SC Wiki page functionality change

For many pages on the wiki, the following links (usually on the bottom right of the page) have been replaced by the recent contributors box:

Related changes, permanent link and what links here.

The former two I've never used (I don't know what they do) but what links here is very important. I've saved a what links here for one page in my bookmarks, and just replace the page title with something else when I need to use what links here for another page, but that's rather time consuming. Can anything be done about this? (I've noticed this isn't a problem on Forum: pages). PSH aka Kimera 757 (talk) 01:21, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Oh, and I think you forgot http://ratchet.wikia.com/wiki/File:Dr_Nefarious.jpg

We also got many new pictures but I'm not going to bother with them for now unless some of the articles become featured. HiQu (My talk) 12:38, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks! You helped me a lot! HiQu (My talk) 12:09, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
I need to ask one thing. Do you think it would be possible to make this image transparent and remove the 1UP logo partially covering the pirates foot by changing the logo's brightness or something? HiQu (My talk) 11:59, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Oh behalf of HiQu and the Ratchet & Clank wiki I just thought I'd say thanks for all of your image work. It's made a lot of our articles look much better! Thanks, Hunterj | My talk 22:53, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Section 8 Wiki Site Activity

JoePlay - Hey thanks so much for your help with the Section 8 Wiki, and I would just like to ask for one more thing. Can you please add a <siteactivity> tag to the site and make that a special page?

Regards - ShadowBroker44 01:51, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Game filter question

Certain games (and now I'm talking of Hello Kitty Online in particular) do include filters of conversation text, generally consisting of list of words that are rude, offensive, frequently used in massads and not really anywhere else, etc. Question is: is it _permitted_ to set up a page on the game's wikia page listing these words? (Yes, if you consider it's as much part of the game as every other data and lists, such as enemy stats, and whatnot, and those also get listed. No, if you consider that the resulting page is bound to include a huge amount of offensive/rude/racist/whatnot words, being that this is exactly its very nature.)

Please msg me on my HKO wikia user talk page, if you have a definite answer for that. Thanks in advance.

[edit] Service offered

Hi, I was curious to know to which extent you go in designing the wiki skins, do you also provide customization for stuff like coordinated color schemes for navbox, infoboxes... and other custom css classes?

Basically the look of this wiki is quite messy, I'm trying to bring it (warhammer online wiki) on par with wowwiki and I'm curious to know how and if you could help.

I'm a very bad with colors.--SirRandomage 20:04, September 25, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Street Fighter IV

Ohs I didn't know Wikia was having a contest for ST IV that long ago! Darn >.< Anyways, I was wondering if you had a PS3 so we can play. If you do, can you tell me your PSN ID? Marexl 02:54, September 28, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Gearspedia Bot

Hi Joe, long time no see. I see you are now Wikia staff, so congratulations! I was wondering if you could flag a bot for me on Gearspedia. The account is EightyBot. Thanks, --EightyOne (talk) 18:20, September 30, 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for doing that. Things on the wiki are going OK. We've had a bit of a stale patch, and I've been having problems with my interent connection so haven't been as active as I could of been, but we're getting back on track now. Thanks again, --EightyOne (talk) 09:38, October 2, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Contest

Hey man, i got your email about winning the contest. I shot an email back with all the info you need, let me know if there's anything else.

Thanks again! JesseZinVT 22:43, October 11, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Page names vs Namespace names

Greetings,

When the flashforward wiki was first created it got named Flash Forward. Logical, but not the name of the show, of course. The wiki got moved to FlashForward, but some of the default pages still have a space in the name.

  • Does it matter? <grin>
  • Does taking the space out of the portion of the page name to the left of the colon move it to the right namespace?
  • Is there a "wrong" namespace?
  • Is this a sysop level function or does it require big guns, like you?

[edit] Dune

Hi, I'd need some help concerning dune.wikia.com. I'd like the Main Page improved. Also because Dune has some complex "canons" (about three alternate universes), I'd also like some three portals about each one. :) So, how do I start? MoffRebusMy Talk 07:29, October 15, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Killer guides links on AoCWiki

Hello,

I've noticed you've placed advertisements in the menu at AoCWiki for Killer guides. First off, the links are broken. Secondly, this is, as far as i can tell, against Google's Adsense policy of not doing the following: "Format ads so that they become indistinguishable from other content on that page." You first placed a "(sponsor)" behind the Killer guides section, but later removed it. I can't see any Adsense ads on the page now tho (they were there before), have you just stopped with them completely since they disallow excessive amounts of ads on each page and hiding ads as content? When we initially created the wiki, our "competitor" was WikiAoC, which died (sadly, now, after seeing what you've done to AoCWiki) because it started with what it seems you are doing now, throwing in excessive ads instead of content (for the same site incidentally), and covering the fact that they are indeed ads.

It's sad to see that you're doing your best to destroy what we created.

[edit] Question About Etiquette

Hi Joe, I'm new to being a member of a wiki. I've used wikis and I know the general idea, but didn't want to do something wrong. I noticed in the Wiki editing guidelines it said:

"Be bold. If you know something is wrong, correct it. If you think you could word something better, write it. If an article has a glaring deficiency, fill it. Even if your first attempt isn't golden, you can fix it later or someone else will come along and fix it for you. Don't be afraid to screw up."

So it's ok to fix something on the wikia like grammar or word usage? Thanks, Tavengen (Borderlands Wikia)

[edit] Collapsible Tables

Hi JoePlay;

I'm a big editor of the WoWWiki, never officially got into creating stuff only editing and adding information. I'm just starting to learn Wikia, i've learned alot over the past few weeks and been creating and implementing ideas into templates as I learn more complex stuff. However this section has forced me to re-edit my templates hundreds of times because everytime I attempt to add scripts off wikipedia or wikia help sites, it never works even when I litterally change nothing just paste it into an empty page.

I've only just recently come accross the Manual:Collapsible_tables and learned that the MediaWiki:Common.js and MediaWiki:Common.css need to be updated to include the ability to use them. The Wikia i'm using is Dragon Age: Origins.

Now from what I understand, going from the help pages, after those two files have been edited to include collapsable boxes, a simple script like;

{| class="wikitable collapsible"
! '''Table Title'''
|-
| ''Collapsed Contents''
|}

Will work even when put into a blank page. I wish to implement Infoboxes like http://www.wowwiki.com/Template:Npcbox, so far i'm about 90% of the way in having them functional with the remaining pieces being the boxes.

I'm not sure who has privilages to edit them, going over history I just picked the last person to have edited the page who obviously has permissions to. My user on Dragon Age: Origins is AshleyJames 16:35, November 20, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Collapsable Tables

I've had a bried look over the NavFrame page, and it's got there what needs to be added to both MediaWiki:Common.css and MediaWiki:Common.js. It links to another page, which is the manual for installation of what specific script has to be added; Manual: NavFrame. I would simply post the script in a reply or through a message, but you know how it is with copy>paste, can be easy to make a mistake, plus I don't want to add 100 lines to your discussion page, haha.

[edit] Logo

Hi! I would need help with one image. http://ratchet.wikia.com/wiki/File:Ratchet_and_Clank_series.png Could you remove the background from it, please? It would help me a lot. HiQu (My talk) 16:38, November 20, 2009 (UTC)

Thanks a lot! HiQu (My talk) 20:47, November 20, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Galactic Codex: Essentials Edition 2183

Hello,

I was wondering if all the information from the Galactic Codex: Essentials Edition 2183 made it to the Mass Effect Wikia. I know there is no place where it is all typed word-for-word, but is there any information still missing from the Wikia that can only be found in the Galactic Codex: Essentials Edition 2183?

Thank you!

--Question answered by Tullis. Thanks!

[edit] Images

Hi! I took these images and thought that they would look better without the light blue background. Could you remove the background from these two images when you have time? There's no need to hurry, I don't need these that much. :) HiQu (My talk) 20:27, November 24, 2009 (UTC)

Here are the images:

[edit] Changing background color

Hi!

Stigma-231 told me that you were the one who created the background of the bioshock wikia. I'm creating the hungarian version of the site and I would like the same background color as the original one.

So could you help me, please? :)

HUN_ter

[edit] Combine OverWiki

Hey there! In October 2007, you created this. I know it's old, but was that for? Wikia Spotlight?... Klow 23:32, December 1, 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for that quick answer. I actually just restored it, to showcase the wiki's logo history. Are you the one who made this and this, then?... Klow 10:10, December 2, 2009 (UTC)
