[edit] Thanks!

I always thought that it reverted to the last version, like undo... now I know the difference. Thanks again!--Tigan Barkwater Why not chat? 08:24, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Ever since the new upgrade, I can't upload any files to my wiki because they all become .php files? Is there any way you could remove it for specific users? And if not, is there a way that you can solve my problem ,because I my computer doesn't understand .php files.--{{SUBST:User:Gamefreak75/Sig2}}

That was a known issue, and it should be fixed now. Can you take a look and let me know if you still have difficulty? --KyleH@Wikia (talk) 22:30, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Inactive central administrator

Hi,

User:Phil.e. hasn't made any (useful) edits for over a year now, and, judging from Wikia:Administrators his administrator rights should be removed.

I have no mean to offend, but I thought it should be noted. Also, maybe this page should be archived xD, it's 70 kb to large, and takes long to edit. Mark (Tedjuh10) - Talk 14:16, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads-up. You're right--this page should be archived. Want to take care of that for me? ;) --KyleH@Wikia (talk) 22:31, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
Done it. Mark (Tedjuh10) - Talk 23:33, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Your user page

Hey,

Me again ;). Just thought I should note it; your userpage doesn't show in other languages. Try using http://www.wikia.com/index.php?title=User:KyleH&uselang=nl. Shouldn't messaging wiki automatically show the English version if another language isn't available? Mark (Tedjuh10) - Talk 22:57, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

It should. Thanks for pointing it out. --KyleH@Wikia (talk) 23:44, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Just saying hi

Hi this is James adams from the Cherub Wikia. I was wondering if you could spend some more time on it. Because there is only 44 articles and I reckon there should be a lot more. I will write some more but i need help.

Hi James! You're doing a great job on the Cherub wiki. Unfortunately, I don't know much about Cherub or the Henderson's boys series, so I wouldn't be of much help. Your best bet is to keep adding content. Doing so will allow more people to find the wiki and help out. :) --KyleH@Wikia (talk) 18:12, September 28, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] New search engine

If the new search engine enabled at The Vault is the same as the one currently at Central, I'm not fond of it at all. Previously, it was quite easy to find new Fallout-related wikis by searching for "Fallout" at Central, and the search showed them all. Now it doesn't - e.g. I couldn't find the newly created Fallout Humor by searching for "Fallout". Ausir(talk) 21:17, September 30, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Godfather Game

I've noticed that the Godfather: The Game wiki (http://godfatherthegame.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page) has not been updated by some one other than me for over eight months. I was wondering if you could contact the current admin of that wiki about possibly allowing me to take over the wiki, as I would love to be able to "help the ailing wiki get back on its feet". (Constantinos2 18:47, October 3, 2009 (UTC))

Hi, Constantinos2. The process is relatively easy, you'll want to check out Wikia:Adoption requests and read the instructions there on adopting inactive wikis. Good luck. --CharitwoTalk 18:50, October 3, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Modern Wikia Editing Bar

You know the editing bar at the top of your screen when you edit articles, I was looking at the wikianswers and I saw a request delete option. I was wondering if Modern Wikia could have the same option to make it easier for users.

Thanks, --Andrew Schlieffen, Executive Administrator of Modern Wikia and Valkyrie Movie Wikia 02:07, October 12, 2009 (UTC)

Heya! Those buttons are added by a little of javascript found in Wikianswers MediaWiki:common.js file. If you copy the code from the top of that file to MediaWiki:common.js on your own wiki, you will get the request delete and redirect buttons. --KyleH@Wikia (talk) 19:34, October 12, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] B'crat rights

One of our users Power courage wisdom and time has recently had his admin rights removed. He requested that all of his rights be removed, but I cannot obliege 100% because he also has b'crat rights. Can you, or someone else, remove them, please?-- C2 / CC 00:12, October 14, 2009 (UTC)

Hi! Can you give me a link to where the discussion occurred?
Done! --KyleH@Wikia (talk) 00:40, October 15, 2009 (UTC)
Thanks!-- C2 / CC 00:56, October 15, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] hello

hello KyleH how has your school year been so far.Mays 17:16, October 15, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] B'crat, again

Sorry if I'm troubling you, but we have another b'crat thing. Oldschoolzeldafan used to be a generally excepted admin/b'crat, but after one of our admins went through the User rights log that Oldschoolzeldafan had been nominated for rollback, but resived Admin/B'crat rights instead. While she may have proven that giving her those rights was good, but she did not go through the proper channels. She also is inactive and is editing from an IP, so I don't think it will effect her much. Sorry for being such a bother....-- C2 / CC 23:27, October 15, 2009 (UTC)

Well, sorry if I sound impacient, but this has been hanging for a few days. I'm not in a paticular rush or anything, but I feel that this situation would have a better outcome if it is solved sooner. -- C2 / CC 03:06, October 19, 2009 (UTC)

Done. Please be sure to send any important requests to Special:Contact--that's usually the quickest way to get help. :) --KyleH@Wikia (talk) 00:18, October 20, 2009 (UTC)
Sure, I'll do that next time.-- C2 / CC 00:12, October 21, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Trouble Brewing Over at Capcom Database. Help!

Some coward with the IP address 76.203.175.118 is mixing links and inserting foul language on the Capcom Database Wiki (see "recent changes" over there, if you want). I am an admin. there, so I banned him for a year, but I expect more trouble. All he has to do is go on a different computer, right? There aren't too many people working over there, and I really don't feel like cleaning this up myself. I've already had a few problems like this in the past, and I'm thinking about quitting unless something is done. Any advice? icysugarspike 19:24, October 19, 2009 (UTC)

Heya! It looks like you're doing an awesome job on the Capcom Database Wiki. Dealing with vandalism can be very tiring--but fortunately, MediaWiki makes it very easy to undo what they do. It looks like you're handling it pretty well, so I don't have a whole lot of advice. In general, most vandals don't bother coming back on different IPs once they've been banned once. There are a few that are especially persistent, but this guy doesn't seem to be one of them--he went hasn't come back. Just hang in there. If you continue to add more information to the wiki, more people will find it and be able to help out. Just keep up the good work! --KyleH@Wikia (talk) 00:25, October 20, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Administrator rights

Hi, I'm looking for a way to get administrator rights for the Shield wiki but couldn't find a specific page that explained how to do it. I've been contributing to that wiki for a couple of months now and, even though only one other editor has stepped in, I'd like to keep on working on it and perhaps elevate it to the status of other more complete, more visited wikis. Let me know what's the process I should follow. Thanks. Thief12 16:43, October 21, 2009 (UTC)

Just felt like adding that I'm a frequent contributor on the 24 Wiki as well, just in case you want to check my trajectory or something like that :-D Thief12 16:44, October 21, 2009 (UTC)

Heya! If none of the administrators on a wiki are active, you can request to adopt that wiki and become an administrator by posting a note here. It looks like, however, both of those wikis have active sysops. On The Shield Wiki, you should post a note to Kanamekun asking about how things work there. On the 24 wiki, SignorSimon and Blue Rook are the most recently active admins. --KyleH@Wikia (talk) 21:18, October 21, 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. I just posted the info about the 24 Wiki in case you wanted to check if I was an active editor at Wikia. I've been contributing there for about a year and talk frequently with Blue Rook and SignorSimon. But thanks for the help. I already wrote Kanamekun and asked for his help. Thief12 22:05, October 21, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Wiki with no admins

Hello KyleH. I'm a wikian who lurks around on gaming wikis, just like you. There is a serious problem in one of those, the Guitar Hero wiki.

The wiki is in complete lack of administrators. There are two bureaucrats and two sysops, all of whom have been inactive for more than 3 months each. By the way, that specific wiki is filled with crap edits, pages and users, who keep spreading panic whenever they go. There isn't anyone to check the Candidates for deletion category, rollback crap edits and ban this kind of users. Most important, there can't be new admins as all bureaucrats and sysops are inactive and therefore can't change a user's rights.

I may not even have 100 edits on that wiki, but I am active every day and taking care of bad edits. I wanted to ask you if you may come over to the wikia and appoint new admins. I would like to be one of them, since that is a wiki I am not going to abandon (though I will if action is not taken soon). So, consider, and please reply. Thanks!

Peace, JEA13 [iTalk]

Heya! You can request to adopt this wiki and become an administrator by posting here. Let me know if you need any more help. --KyleH@Wikia (talk) 20:59, November 4, 2009 (UTC)
Ehm, as far as I know, adoption requests are for inactive wikis (unless I am wrong). I forgot to mention that there are a few active users on that wiki already along with me. - JEA13 [iTalk] 15:31, November 5, 2009 (UTC)
Ahh, you're right--that is a little bit different. In that case, there needs to be a consensus among the active editors to make you an admin. Your best bet is to post on the forums or the community portal and propose the change, and let other users know about the proposals by posting on their talk pages. Once there is a consensus, send us a message via Special:Contact pointing us to the page, and we can take care of it. --KyleH@Wikia (talk) 21:48, November 6, 2009 (UTC)
Sure thing, thanks for listening! - JEA13 [iTalk] 22:02, November 6, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Ninja Gaiden Wiki

I am requesting I be made an administrator/ bureaucrat of Ninja Gaiden wiki. I recently went over the wiki and was amazed at how underdeveloped it is. Many pages are a combination of subjects that could be an article on their own. There appears to be no activity at the moment and many of the users are small timers who make quick minor edits and have since rarely appeared again. I have history with being an administrator/ bureaucrat as I adopted the Dead Space Wiki and monitor it on a daily basis. My capabilities for the ninja gaiden wiki are limited due to my status as a regular user and I hope by adjusting my status to administrator I can reorganize and bring the wiki to prominence as well as assign proper duties to those willing to commit to the wiki as I have with my other wiki. I'm hoping you're the person to talk to about this but if not could you redirect me to who is?--MasterM 15:41, November 6, 2009 (UTC)

Hi MasterM! You can request to adopt that wiki and become an administrator by posting here. --KyleH@Wikia (talk) 21:49, November 6, 2009 (UTC)
