[edit] Wikia Mentoring Project
Hi, Tom! I just got back from Wikimania. I only met Joe briefly; I wish I'd been able to spend more time with him! At the conference, we came up with an idea to help out new wiki founders, which kind of comes out of some of the ideas that we wrote about on Will Wikis Work. It's called the Wikia Mentoring Project. Please take a look, and let me know what you think, okay? Thanks! -- Danny (talk) 03:30, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Will Wikis Work?
Hey, thanks for saying hi and (unintentionally) kicking my ass to finish that piece I was writing on my user page. I've been meaning to get to it for a long time, but knowing that someone was actually reading the thing got me working on it again! So I just added a bunch of stuff to that page -- if you get around to reading the new version, I'd love to know what you think.
I also just posted some additions to Will Wikis Work?, and some comments on the talk page. It's cool that you're getting some discussion started on these issues; I think it's really important, and fun to talk about.
So if you read my user page thing, you'll see that I have a thing about knowing people's actual first names -- can you tell me yours? :) -- Danny (talk) 20:45, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for helping with the branding survey
Thank you for completing the Wikia:Brand Audit User Survey. We really appreciate your responses. Lots of improvements and new features were suggested, and I hope you'll see these being implemented over time. The results are now being analysed by a PR firm, so you might see some interesting changes to the design of the site as a result. If you have any more feedback, we always welcome that in the Wikia forums. Angela (talk) 17:33, 24 July 2006 (UTC)That's great! If you make a list of more "mainstream" blogs, the PR agency can help too. But their best use if the big psychology publications and the Association newsletter Gil
What do you think about creating a place where individuals could talk about the disease they have, the treatments they receive and their reactions to it. Think of it as a section like "patients like us" where people can aggregate and compare what's going on with their disease management? It could cross from psychology into general medicine as well? [edit] ads
Thanks - I hear you on adbrite. We want to let them buy ads by Wikia subdomain, but for the test we just put up one ad unit across the site :-). The reality is google does this to us too (birdflu ads everywhere) so we seem to have no perfect solution... but we keep trying... Gil (talk) 16:23, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Forum:Will Wikis Work?
Hello, I have change the jpg's from this forum to png's. Unfortunately I have made these images a bit smaller than yours, I hope it's not look so bad. If you don't mind, I'm publishing PNG versions in the public domain. Szoferka 02:03, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
