Wikia - creating communities
[edit] Lego wiki (brickipedia)
Just recently I have found Brickipedia, and have started to clean it up. I looked around and stumbled upon the community portal. In there it said that one to two people wanted it merged with another lego wikia. Is that going to go through. Just wondering as answer was inconclusive, or at least it was to me...
- It was to everyone I think. There were a few comments, but no real conclusions. But whether some contributors decide to merge content or not, the LEGO Wikia will still exist, so don't worry that your work will disapear. Let me know if you need any help, and thanks for your work there :) -- sannse (talk) 09:21, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
No problem.
[edit] Copyright violations
There's an anonymous user -- 200.127.79.42 (Talk) -- on the DCAU wiki submitting lots of suspicious texts, some of which have been tracked down to an official site. I posted two messages on said user's Talk page but he ignored them and keeps on submitting the official texts. The Admins are very absent on that wikia. ― Thailog 17:26, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

Ok about the user pages and stuff, feel free to edit that. I just don't want things like information about groups to be tarnished, which I will be given the blame for. [edit] Uncyclopedia language links, still broken after all these years
All of this has already been posted here, here, here or here - most at least one or two months ago. Nonetheless, these still don't work:
| from | to |
|---|---|
| ar, ca, da, el, es, fr, he, it, pl, ru, zh | ast: eo: ja: lv: sl: yi: |
| ast, eo, fi (Wikia fork), tr, yi | ar: ast: ca: cs: da: de: el: en: eo: es: et: fa: fi: fr: he: hu: it: ja: ko: la: lv: lt: mg: nl: nn: no: pl: pt: ro: ru: sl: sr: sv: simple: th: tr: vi: yi: zh-hk: zh-tw: zh: |

Sorry to have to keep bringing these up. --carlb 03:17, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Carl, after the last update, which cleared most things I think, I put the list as I had it here for checking. Does that tie in with what you have? If so, then hopefully your list here is the definitive one.
- ikkepedia wasn't a fork from what I recall, that was requested individually and not as a break off or copy of another project (I'm not even sure there was another no. uncyc at that time). fi.uncyclopedia was offered at a time that the original Finnish Uncyc was broken... if I recall you did the same thing at the same time. But with the duplicate, we didn't add Interlanguage links to that one. I'm not sure what the best solution is for that wiki.
- If you think we've covered everything, I'll get the list to Inez to be added. Thanks -- sannse (talk) 22:06, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
I've rechecked these one last time, looks like links for any Wikia added recently (such as Esperanto) are completely broken in both directions. That issue was already raised in Uncyclopedia's forum as Nunyepedia (ast:) can't link to or from other languages - the same applies to anything created in the last few months.
This is as close as I can get to a definitive list.
Of the duplicates, fi.uncyclopedia and ikke.pedia you're already aware here and here. Some of the complaints received are here and here.
Fi: (Suomi) is unfortunate, but it seems the only way to link both is to put one under some other language. One can't make new language codes except by adding them in Names.php, which is awkward. There is an existing su: code, which belongs to some small corner of the island of Java and appears unrelated, not much else that would even be a close match. --carlb 23:40, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Request help with vandalism on We-think
Hi, Sannse. Wondered if you could help with some vandalism on w:c:wethink. I've recently blocked user 207.210.93.73 on w:c:sca21 for vandalism and noticed same user vandalised central wikia recently. Although I'm contributing to wethink, I don't have admin rights, and not sure who might be an active admin on this wiki? Thanks Philralph 18:00, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, looks like Angela deleted the spam already. The only admin there is the founder, who hasn't been in for a long time. So I've made you admin there as well. Let me know if you need any help -- sannse (talk) 18:28, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

sannse, thanks for reloading our wiki to its own database, I really appreciate the help you gave. It will take the following days (as I am in the middle of winter-exams now) to check up on the pictures and links, but you've really helped a lot.

[edit] Hello Sannse
I am really pleased to see here [1] once again. I have a request. I have seen that you create and craft logos and you have done so for many Wikias. It shall be really nice if you can make for this Wikia. This is about Finance in its entirety, but oriented towards Personal Finance. Please help. Thanks and Regards. --Bhadani 19:54, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Someone with experience told me that you would be someone who could help me get my bot registered as a bot, so it would not clog up the Recent changes.--Herbsewell 03:05, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Sure, I need to know which wiki, and what the user name of the bot account is, and what you use it for. I also need to know that you have checked with the community on the wiki, to make sure no one there objects. If everyone is happy, I can add the bot flag -- sannse (talk) 20:04, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Changing the name and namespace for the Non-Canon Star Trek Wiki
Hello, I hope that you will be able to help. The members of the Non-Canon Star Trek Wiki have voted and agreed that we should rename the wiki to Memory Beta. While most pages represent the new name, we wondered if it would be possible to move the namespace to Memory Beta.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank You. --The Doctor 11:47, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, we can do this, but the space that the new namespace is going to has to be empty. Which means moving all pages titled "Memory Beta:something" to "Memory Beta (temp):something", and then deleting all the redirects. A tedious job, but perhaps a few of you could get together to do this. Once the potential namespace is clear, Angela can make the move (I think she has just written this on her talk page too). Let me know if you need more advice on doing this -- sannse (talk) 20:04, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Arabic uncyclopedia
Hi there, I have been re- directed to you and you have been highly recommended. I’ve started working on the Arabic version of uncyclopedia, I am almost alone there, it is a hard work, I have been busy making templates and organizing the main page and translating policies, but I need access to system messages inorder to translate them . I think there is a big potential for this uncyclopedia, the question is how can I become an administrator there , there is no need for an adminstrator right now because I am a lone but in the future when things get more complicated there will some serious issues that need to be solved by an adminstrator. How can I change or add a wallpaper to the arabic version, you can go and take a look and tell me what you think about the design. Your answer and comments are highly appreciated.Classic 971 04:45, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, I thought I had answered here, but it seems I managed not to save! I have made you admin on the Arabic Uncyclopedia, thanks for trying to get it going! I think there is a problem with the main page layout at the moment, I see it as going off far to the right, under the menus. I use FireFox as my browser.
- You can add a background using the site css, which you now have access to. You need to edit MediaWiki:Monobook.css and the code would look something like:
/* change the background */
body {
background: white url(http://beidipedia.wikia.com<rest of the url>.png) 0px 0px fixed repeat-y;
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
}
[edit] Question
Hello, I as you have known, have adopted the War of the Worlds wikia. I have been editing for a while now, and have not received admin powers. If I can be given these powers soon, it will go more smoothly on the site, and I can create more pages. Thank you for your time.BobafettH23 23:29, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, I see the founder has been in recently, so I'm not sure if his intention is to return. It would be best if you could contact him, and let him know that you would like to admin the site. He's not done much with it at all, so I would guess he would be happy with this. You can contact him via the "email this user" function. Thanks -- sannse (talk) 07:49, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion of Wikia's Hikipedia
I must say that altough I really do not understand that, I'll accept it. But as Szoferka said on Talk:Hikipedia:
"The older Hikipedia isn't hosted by any "guys", but is hosted on private Carl Austin Bennett's MediaWiki installation. He is paying for it and he is owner, as well as he is owner of others domains and probably names. Wikia's Hikipedia was created when original Hikipedia was down again. hiki.pedia.ws, that is in fact the biggest fork that was possible to download after lot of downtimes, is still not safe, becouse Carl can decide that he don't want anymore to pay for strangers and be a hosting king and get wikis out of Internet, so anything will be safer on Wikia than on his "wiki farm". I've asked one guy from Hikipedia and they don't want to closure or merging with Wikia's Hikipedia. Szoferka 15:31, 19 January 2007 (UTC)"
I have to mention that it would not be a totally impossible thing to have two Hikipedias. It certainly would have been fun to revive that wiki and put it up and running...well, enough of that. By the way, when is that Wikia going to be deleted, then?
What about small and (almost) abandoned Wikia wikis, like Sports-Fi, Campaigns-Fi, and Micronations-Fi? They're probably very much unknown wikis (in Finland) and as far as I saw, Campaigns-Fi has only two (2) pages, and both of those are system pages and thus that Wikia has zero articles. It hasn't got even a main page!
No, I'm not a deletionist...not today. ;) But instead the Muumitalo (Moomin House) Wikia is very good.
And thanks for everything, Sannse. You're doing good job. =) --Jack Phoenix (Contact) 20:01, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
- What happened was that both Carl and I made wikis to help out the community from the original Hikipedia, and the community chose Carls. So neither are a fork, both were potential replacements, and ours wasn't selected. It would be possible to have two, and in some situations I would say that was the best solution. but in this case, there was an established Hikipedia community, which went to Carls, and I don't think we should try to compete with that. Of course, if the community ever wants to move to Wikia they would be most welcome.
- This is a very different situation to other inactive wikis, but we are talking about ways to properly and easily close wikis where needed. At the moment it's a bit complicated.
- Which is why it may take a while for it to be fully closed, but I will add some information to the wiki today, in preparation for closing it.
- Hope that's all OK, and sorry to disappoint once again -- sannse (talk) 09:12, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hi again, Sannse. I translated your message on Hikipedia. Possibly you could also insert this into MediaWiki:Sitenotice: "Olkaa hyvä ja lukekaa tärkeä huomautus [[Hikipedia:Kahvihuone|Kahvihuoneessa]] tämän wikin tulevaisuutta koskien."
- It's a translation of your message that you left on MediaWiki:Sitenotice. Not a literal translation, but good enough for everybody to understand. :)
- And it's OK with me, I've used to disappointments already many times. It just kinda bugs me that the admins on Carl's wiki are scared when somebody threatened them with a legal threat of some kind (on article "Russians", which was then "censored" and split up) and now there's a vote going on about articles on living persons...besides, aren't Carl's servers on the United States or on Canada? --Jack Phoenix (Contact) 15:34, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] E-mail
Sannse, sorry to bug you about this once again, but I sort of e-mailed you 11 days ago. Did you get it? :s ― Thailog 21:08, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
- Arggh! was this around the 15th? I had a scary problem with my email client then, and lost all mail from my inbox between June last year and Jan 15th. Wikia mail is filtered, so I thought it was only personal mail... but if it didn't have "Wikia" in the subject it may have been in my inbox instead. Please can you resend? And I will look at it urgently. I'm very sorry for this -- sannse (talk) 09:12, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Move of URL
Hi again Sannse. At Spademanns Leksikon we have found that da.uncyclopedia.wikia.com is a long and hard URL - could it be possible to change it to something more simple like spademann.wikia.com? If possible, please do it. Thank you. --Lhademmor 16:05, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- That can be done, it will fit with most other versions that have unique names. I'll put it on the to-do list.. it may be a while before it gets done though -- Sannse 19:30, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- Btw, several sites have already linked to the old URL, so a redirect would be appropriate, I reckon. --Lhademmor 11:28, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Help
Hello, The War of the worlds wikia is getting more users! But with increased activity we need an active admin. There are a few articles I would like to delete, because they make no sense. I have contacted the founder of the site, but have received no reply. I suggest that you make me admin so we can secure the site. it is your choice, Iam just saying what I think would help the site more. Thank you for your time.BobafettH23 00:07, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- As it turns out, he made contact with me the yesterday, I just found this out, but we do need an active admin. Thank you for your time. BobafettH23 00:11, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- As he has got in touch, you can toalk to him about this. He has the ability to make you an admin, and it would be better for this to be something you work out between you. Let him know that you are interested in being an admin, and willing to be around to look after the wiki. I'm sure you can sort this between the two of you. -- Sannse 08:41, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Google maps code
Hi Sannse. Thanks very much for getting Google maps enabled over at WikiJET. I'm sure they will be very useful but I'm having a few problems. The major problem is that everything works fine when I'm editing an article and I preview the page, but as soon as I hit the save button the map disappears completely! Check out the Gaucho page.
I'm also having a small problem with the code. On the help page it says that you can get rid of the Map/Satellite/Hybrid controls with the variable selector="no", but I've found this has no effect. Also, I notice there is no align variable to control the positioning of the map on the page. Will I have to put it in a table manually to do that? Thanks for any help you can give, Bobo12345 01:05, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Bobo. I'm just about to leave for the airport, and will be off line for a while (maybe until Monday, hopefully not that long). You could ask for help in the Wikia IRC channel or I will look as soon as I get back online. Sorry about the problems -- Sannse 07:27, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
After further investigation it seems that the maps are not working when viewed with Firefox, but are ok in Internet Explorer. Has this been reported elsewhere too? Any time you get the chance to answer is fine by the way. Cheers, Bobo12345 09:48, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
I've been fiddling around with it a bit more and the problem seems a bit strange. It seems that when the code that doesn't seem to show a map on the Gaucho page is copied onto the Playground page, it works. This is the case using Firefox and IE. When viewing the Gaucho page in IE, an error message appears:
- Line: 57.
- Char: 762
- Error: Object expected
- Code: 0
- URL: http://jet.wikia.com/wiki/Gaucho
Bobo12345 05:26, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
Hi Bobo, it looks like the issue with firefox and google maps is a caching thing. When I visted http://jet.wikia.com/index.php?title=Gaucho&action=purge the map showed up. I'll talk to the guy who wrote the extension to see if he can make it show up more easily. I'll also talk to him about the problems with "selector", I think I may have got the name wrong when I wrote the help page and need to talk to him about what it should be. Sorry for the confusion, and thanks for letting me know of the problem! -- Sannse 18:38, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks very much Sannse! Purging seems to have solved the problem. Bobo12345 12:31, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Food wiki
Sannse, I will be back updating my wikis on Monday. Finally, I am free again, Hahaha.
I would like to ask you if I can adopt Food Wiki. At least 20 people already promised to back me up on Food Wiki. These people are from the ESL community I have told you about. They have confirmed to me to be contributors to the Food Wiki, so I said: OK, I will ask for the wiki. One of them (from Germany) is a nutrition expert. Whoa!
So, I would like to adopt the Food Wiki. I will call it: Foodopedia.
Thank you,

Hi Sannse, what's the status of adding my wiki to the main page? You were about to make a redesign on Template:Home/temp. I left you a suggestion on Template talk:Home/temp. Sorry to bother you, but can you please reply so I'll know if there is a problem or if I can help. --Spankart 23:30, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Spankart. I'm afraid I just haven't had time to work on that. Bill is now looking at the overall design of the page, and considering whether it needs a radical redesign to make it less text heavy and overwhelming for new users. But in the mean time, I've changed it around slightly to move two off (that are rather inactive) and add Spanking Art back. -- Sannse 19:53, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi requesting Bot Flag on w:c:Dofus for user w:c:Dofus:User:CizBot, dont know if its necesary but its a semi-automatic using MWiki-Browser software. --Cizagna (Talk) 15:02, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, You only need a bot flag if you are going to be making many fast edits that will fill recent changes and annoy other users. The only thing the flag does is to hide edits from showing on recent changes. So I would say, see how it goes, and if the community finds it too much too quickly, then we an add the flag. I just need to know the account, and that you have community approval to hide the edits. -- Sannse 19:56, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

- StarNeptune is a trusted user who was given checkuser rights on one wiki when that wiki was having particular problems. Things seem calm there now, but as she has been using it so helpfully there, there doesn't seem a reason to remove the rights. This was a very particular situation, and is not likely to be repeated often, if at all. -- Sannse 19:59, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Oversight request
Hi, I'm not sure if this is worthy, but can I request that this revision on the Dofus wiki to be oversighted [3]? It contains an email address that I doubt belonged to the editor.. Cheers. //Peet 20:11, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
- The oversight feature is currently off, so I will have to look at this tomorrow. But removing this edit should be no problem. -- Sannse 20:35, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
- Oversight isn't going to be available for a while, so I've done a manual delete and partial restore. This removes the edit from public view (although admins can still view it). That should be fine for now -- Sannse 10:41, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Oversight question
Would it be reasonable to have a number of page revisions oversighted. I have 3 main e-mail addreses. A very old one personal one which I don't want to lose because I use it in so many places. One which I use in my resume and for other work type matters. And one which I give out publicly because it's possible for me to delete if I have a spam issue. I switched my e-mail addreses a while ago, but some old revisions of some of my userpages and the about page at the gaiapedia still have my personal e-mail address in them. Which removes some of the use of editing them into new ones everywhere. The total number of revisions I can count that would need to be changed are:
- The first 7 on User:Dantman
- The first 2 on Anime:User:Dantman/Userpage Archives/1
- The first 1 at w:c:Naruto:User:Dantman/Userpage Archives/1
- The first 1 at InuYasha:User:Dantman/Userpage Archives/1
- 12 of the revistions at w:c:gaia:User:Dantman
- And 13 of the revisions at w:c:gaia:Project:About
- If you are only trying to hide them from spam bots and search engines, then I would suggest just deleting the revisions. You can do this by deleting the page, and then restoring the pages that are OK. History won't be seen anyway, but deleting will further remove them so that only admins can see them (and they are unlikely to bother!). This will be a lot easier than oversighting, which doesn't sound vital in this case -- Sannse 20:15, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
- I was considering it morealso for hiding from other users. True that on central and on the gaiapedia it won't be a bother because I'm the only active gaiapedia admin (and it's unlikely we'll get more). Though, there is a strong guarantee that there will be more admins in the future at the animepedia, narutopedia, and inuyasha wiki. And posibly ones which aren't as great as with the simple 1 or 2 admins needed on small wikia. I can delete the ones on The Gaiapedia, but I can't delete the stuff in central. And I'll delete the stuff in the other 3 while I'm waiting for a reply on if oversighting the 4 revisions on the 3 wiki in the WAP could be oversighted as a way to also make it easier to find. ~Dantman(talk) 21:39, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
- It seems Checkuser isn't available at the moment, so it will have to be deletions. There is no spam risk from deleted edits, and even if another user did search through them for the address, you could block mail from them, so I really think this is enough of a solution in this case. I'll remove the Central edits, and any others I can still see -- Sannse 10:56, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, I see GHe already got the Central ones - thanks GHe -- Sannse 10:58, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Pirate ads
Hi Lisa, over on the Muppet Wikia site's community portal, there's been discussion that Wikia might consider blocking ads for pirated Muppet merchandise. Would this be something Wikia is willing to do? (Various contributors to the site are supposedly insiders, at least one regular is a Muppet performer.) -- Zanimum 16:10, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, this is possible. We just need to know exactly which ads (right click to copy the link location, so we know what to remove) and let us know. However, be warned... other wikis have found that these ads will keep coming back, as fast as we remove one (which can't be instant) another appears. The other option is to go to graphical ads. These are more controllable, and less likely to be for problem services. Some wikis have gone this way already for similar reasons. See Dofus for an example. Let me know what the community wants. -- Sannse 20:34, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
- Here's the premlinary list. -- Zanimum 15:02, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Preloadthingy
This should fix the problem of overwriting existing pages on the CreateWiki preloads (as well as resetting the form if you click 'back'). --Splarka (talk) 22:37, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks Splarka, that's great -- Sannse 08:38, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] A french forum
On the Help:Forums page, they point to you for help about forums. I think my forum did not receive de "standard setup" but since it's a french wikia, all Category must be replace by Catégorie anyway. So, i've copied over all code myself and translated things. But still, something's odd. Some template (modèle in our case) is list as a message in the test forum. What do you think i'm doing wrong ? Here some links :
- Forum: w:c:fr.guildwars:Forum:Accueil
- My talk over there: w:c:fr.guildwars:Discussion Utilisateur:TulipVorlax
I've just begin adding some forums. The first three are not set up yet. Thanks in advance for your trouble. TůζipVõrζąx 05:19, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- Replied at fr.guildwars
- Just in case you didn't check back reply on my talk page, i copy this here. TůζipVõrζąx 22:32, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yes! I've understand in a second when a saw your edit on recent change. I've done many template here, i should have seen it. But, it was well past sleeptime (as it is now too ^^ ). But thanks for covering my back. If i dont have anything else wrong, i think you'll have someone to translate (to french) the help on forums someday. Maybe in this wikia help section at first, will be easier.
- Thanks a bundle.
- Now, teeth bruhsing time and then hop in bed with a book (a foolish attempt to get all thoses wiki things off my mind). §: TůζipVõrζąx Discuter 14 mars 2007 à 08:48 (UTC)
[edit] AWB reg
Hi, can you look into my registration request for AWB when you have time? TIA --Lirielle 18:29, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Lirielle, your bot account has been added to the checkpage -- Sannse 20:51, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Arabic uncyclopedia
Hi Sannse , it is me again , sorry to bother you, but I think the page setup in the entire Arabic section is kind of screwed up, the main template in sort of invading or intermingling with the rest of the page , I don’t have that problem with my computer at home but at work and with few other computer the page setup is screwy, can you please direct me to where I can get some advice regarding how to fix that Classic 971 09:58, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- sometimes these pages on right to left wikis are very difficult. The code goes in one way and the langauge goes the other :-/ I have looked at this page before, but wasn't able to fix it. I'll have another try when I have a moment - see if I can get it to work. -- Sannse 20:05, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Dilbert
Thnx, yes i do wtill want to do the Dilbert wiki (request for wiki on wikia requests) any more required info, don't hesitate. Thanx Andrew Marsden 16:51, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, I see Angela got to this one first, and it exists now :) -- Sannse 20:05, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Hikipedia of Wikia
Hi Sannse. Since it's been a while, I decided to ask this question: when is Wikia's Hikipedia going to be deleted? Trolls and vandals are having a good time over there, but otherwise it's useless. --Jack Phoenix (Contact) 11:39, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Jack, I'll try and get this sorted in the coming week. -- Sannse 15:04, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] New Wikia request
Hi Leo, I wonder if I could have your opinion on a new request for a Wikia? Apparently it would be very similar to this wiki, but for Ohio. Does it look like a workable request to you? And would you be willing to advise the founder if it goes ahead? Many thanks -- Sannse 11:38, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Lisa, I'll be glad to look at the Wikia request, and to advise the founder - Leo|Talk 14:42, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
- Oops! Managed to forget to give you the link there ;) The request is at w:c:requests:Infoline. Thanks for the help -- Sannse 15:04, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] please delete
Can you delete [4] please?
Thanks. Zephyrinus 00:21, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Oh, as a follow-up, the contributor of this spam - can you also delete the other images s/he uploaded? Thanks. Zephyrinus 01:11, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't find any images, just a redirect page... was I looking in the wrong place? -- Sannse 10:41, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- You deleted the right page. The images (a copy of one of those fax-spams) must have been on another Wikia. I'll get back to you (if you're the one I should talk to) - it was a late night. Thanks. Zephyrinus 11:16, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Help on WarWiki
You are experienced on Wikia. We need help on the WarWiki. Jack Phoenix has been deleting quite a few articles and redirects. He is saying that wars do not include fictional wars. I tried to recreate a few of those articles but he redeletes them. I fear a war on the war wiki will soon start if this matter does not clear up. I'm afraid with my newest edits on my wiki, I fear that he will soon be the only editor left on WW if I will be blocked. You are now the War Wiki's only hope against his overuse of power. Good luck. [edit] Thank you!
I, Jack Phoenix, herefore present this tulip for Sannse to say "thanks" for clearing things up at WarWiki and preventing an edit war. Thank you so much, Sannse! :) --Jack Phoenix (Contact) 21:56, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks Jack, that's really good of you. -- Sannse 10:41, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] logos
I understand from your user page that you collect logos. I rather liked the archeology logo and I just saw the [ru.smalltalk.wikia.com smalltalk] logo which I thought was nice too. Just thought I'd let you know. Respectfully, Zephyrinus 01:10, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, I don't collect them as such - I make them (occasionally). The image on my user page is of the first 100 favicons I made for Wikia. Must find time to make some more soon ;) -- Sannse 10:41, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your Community Team Entry
I tried to e-mail you. It bounced. You may wish to remove or fix the e-mail address listed for you on the Community Team page. Respectfully, Zephyrinus 10:36, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sorry about that Zephyrinus, I didn't realise that address was listed anywhere (it did redirect at one point, I'll get that fixed). My mail address is
sannse@tiscali.co.uk- or you can find me on IRC most days between 8am and 2pm (UTC) and again in the evening. Apologies again -- Sannse 22:40, 22 March 2007 (UTC)- (old address struck - Sannse 10:26, 8 April 2007 (UTC))
[edit] Thank you!
Just my way of saying "thank you". ^^ --Jack Phoenix (Contact) 22:32, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- Awww.. thanks Jack, that's really good of you -- Sannse 22:40, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Security
Hi Sannse, In response to your e-mail, we would prefer that you grant us Security as the page name. Integrated Security can be added as a category of Security very easily. There are many other categories of security which can be added under Security as well, which you may have future requests for: physical security, personal security, national security, etc. It's simply positioning everything from broad (Security) to specific (integrated security). Let me know if you any further questions. jameshall@gmail.com
[edit] Security
Thanks for the e-mail. My new account user name is SecurityOne. Could you have my old user name removed and replaced with SecurityOne. Thank-you.
- Hi, I've replied to your mail with instructions on how to verify your email. Once that's done, I can make the wiki :) -- Sannse 09:16, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hello Sannse. My e-mail has been verified/confirmed. Please inform when the Security wiki is prepared. Thanks.
[edit] Infobox
I'm having trouble creating an Infobox template for the Golden Girls Wiki. Can you give me some advice?--Danchan22 22:14, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Adopt-A-Wiki
Can I adopt the RPG Arena wiki? I think I have enough edits there. I am the only contributor there for over half a year too. So can I adopt the RPG Arena Wiki? I would really like to improve more than just the articles and images. I want to be able to make this wiki special. Please? Ike (texas war) 23:16, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
