[edit] A wiki on spanking art

I have no official standing in wikicities, but I do have a comment on sexuality and wikicities. Sexuality is a fundamental part of human existence and there are many aspects of sexuality that can and should be explained even to small children. I am a biologist and I view discussion of sexuality as a normal part of human life that should offend nobody. There are some aspects of human sexuality the discussion of which can probably be harmful to children, particularly if the discussion is done in a hurtful way. Certainly there are some people who do have a fetish for exploring aspects of human sexuality that most people find objectionable and hurtful. It is a normal social process for the majority to impose limits on minorities who are perceived as doing harm to others.

It seems to me that it would be useful to have a wiki where sexuality could be discussed in a mature fashion. If we need any evidence to support the idea that we as a society need to continue to find better ways to discuss sexuality, just take a look at the endless argument over showing pictures of the human body on wikipedia. I suggest that there could be a wikicity for discussion of all traditionally taboo subjects. Maybe there could be a special login page for such a wikicity where the user has to confirm that they know what they are getting into by entering. JWSchmidt 21:56, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I agree. It may not harm to put up a 'warning, sexuality related content' welcome message on the main page of the wiki. I wouldn't make it a login page, though. --Spankart 14:42, 7 May 2005 (UTC)

In terms of prohibited content, I don't think this should cause any more of a problem than lists of casinos on the Las Vegas wiki do, but I've emailed Jimmy about it to see what his opinion is. The reason we don't have any wikis on this so far is just that none have been requested, not because they've been rejected. Angela (talk) 00:45, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Thanks a lot, I'll be waiting for Jimmy's reply then. --Spankart 16:12, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)
It seems this is going to be ok, so could you please fill in a wiki request form with the exact name and title you want for the wiki. Thanks. Angela (talk) 10:50, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Great. I have filled in the request form. --Spankart 14:42, 7 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Problem with the spanking art wikia

At the moment, the spanking art main page displays only "Error, Setup.php must be included from the file scope, after DefaultSettings.php" -Mercy (talk) 18:27, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Was this problem ever resolved? I have the same one. Cascokid 18:43, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Yes, that problem must have been resolved soon after it had been reported in May 2006. Spankart 20:48, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Page views

You asked if the pages views study we did could be made public. It now is at Page views. Angela talk 21:42, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] YouTube in templates

Hi there!

I dropped in to respond to your query at Central about using YouTube in templates. With a few behind the scenes tweaks and a rethink on how to do the template, we've worked out a way now. Please see what we've done at http://www.wikia.com/index.php?title=Template_talk:YouTube -- I hope you will have fun finding new and better ways to use it!

Best wishes to you, and let me know if there's anything else I can do to help out. — Catherine@Wikia (talk) 07:30, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks a lot, Catherine. That looks good - so we no longer need to subst the template. As for the other thing, well, if you happen to know somebody well in the Wikia tech staff... perhaps you could ask them to set the priority of this problem I reported in July just a little bit higher so somebody will fix it sometime. (Sannse already told me they have a lot to do at the moment and my issue is low priority because only my wiki is affected, but perhaps finding out what's wrong and making the fix won't take that long. Perhaps there's just a corrupt file somewhere.) --Spankart 22:01, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speak out!

SpankArt, can you still read this? Wanted thoughts on the recent events at Spanking Art Wiki from users such as yourself, Blackshade9, and Roguebfl. If you can't post here, please post something at HP's Guestbook:

books.dreambook.com/handprince/handprints.html

Yes, I can still read this. I posted some information of what's going on at Anime OTK. Spankart 11:34, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

Please look at the discussion about the current situation: http://www.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:Spanking_art_wiki Bottom Spanker 00:35, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

It looks like much was recovered, but there are still a few missing bits and pieces - spankingart.org currently shows 1023 images, when there should be 1187 or so, and the data seems to contain no new edits beyond Jan 25. --08:16, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Is [1] you? Please contact me carlb at kingston.net and let me know what you want done with the domain and corresponding data. --carlb 19:37, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
