Any staff can set the rights, but the people that monitor that list know all the proper policies/standard/things to check before approving someone. We have found that the vandal "Lee Carvello" will leave a naughty message on the page that replaces everything but the sidebar! I'm the first one to figure out how to get rid of it, but with 1,822 pages it is hard to find out if there is anymore. Not possible. FAR too much potential for abuse, both to the servers, and to the users. There are even deep hardcoded safegaurds that filter out attempts to add certain types (mostly all binary/executables) to the allowed lists. Special:AllMessages does not list every mediawiki page on the wiki. it only lists the MESSAGES registered/hooked/exposed/loaded mediawiki core its self, or by extensions. There are TONS of ones that arent listed there. --Uberfuzzy 23:54, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm the owner of manhunt.wikia.com - if you go to that site, it's pretty obvious from the get go that there is something wrong with the left hand side of the page. Where it usually says "Top Content" and "Community" it also says "Hi, I'm Aundre187 and I'm a pretty big fan of the Manhunt series...". It's caching the category (as you noticed) I removed the page from it... I'm not sure why it picked the random category, but if it doesn't update itself after a while...

1. try categorizing main namespace pages, as far as I can see you don't have any acceptable pages categorized... I'm not sure why the user: namespace is picked, but assume it's probably because some wikis are of the community.
2. if it's that big of a problem, you can remove it at http://manhunt.wikia.com/wiki/MediaWiki:Monaco-sidebar (note: only admins can edit the MediaWiki namespace)

I would request that you or another member of Wikia Staff runs a checkuser on the users listed under "Possibles", and if my suspicions are confirmed true, block all of them who are found to be Ben. All of the users under "Definites" should be blocked straight away (they have all admitted to being sockpuppets evading the ban you gave to Barn Owls Rule - Wompus78

I have a problem with my stubs on the Futurama Wiki. There is an article, As The Wormhole Turns, that is displayed as a stub even though the actual article doesn't have a stub tag anywhere on the page. Can yoiu help this? That's just some fail cache. After a null edit, the page was moved out of the category. I recommend doing so for any other pages that are stuck in categories they shouldn't be in. Hi. I'm pretty new here in terms of thinking of creating a wiki and I was just wondering what wikis are allowed. I want to make a wiki for an original world, many actually, that I've made, but I don't know if I should make a new wiki for it, add a whole bunch of pages for it through Conworlds and Conlang...or Confan??? [edit] Question Regarding Wikis...

On the Lemmings Forums, which I am active in, there has been mention of a Lemmings Wiki. It DOES exist, but supposedly it is dead. A question some people have is: would it be better to try and pump life back into the existing one or create a new one? I think it would make more sense to revive the old one, but I don't think feedback would be a dumb idea (though I won't be adopting or creating it, of course).

That wiki itself actually isn't too dead so it probably would be better to join their community and try to revamp it rather than starting from scratch. I'm having a problem with previewing a personalized monaco.css on the Domo Wiki. I've asked someone else, and she said it didn't work for her either. The only way to actually have a preview appear is by adding "!important" to each line. This has been a problem for a while, although I don't know when it started since I don't always touch that page. I've just tried it (only uploaded the background picture and I've removed the other bits), it still doesn't. There's also supposed to be a slight change of color (like the wikia_header being a different color than the background), but it doesn't change either. Hey, Uberfuzzy, it's Miles (a sysop from SmashWiki). We've got a problem where several newer users as well as IP addresses cause images to be removed from a page. Whenever they edit an article or section where there's an image, it is lost when they press the "Save page" button. For example, see the history of Palette swap (SSBB), our current featured article. Hi. I'm one of the two bureaucrats at Bully Wiki.

Bully Wiki's had a bit of trouble from a very persistent vandal (active since July 2008) who recently switched from IPs to registering usernames. I've been blocking names on sight, but I'd like to request a checkuser to make sure these guys are the same person.

Hi. We would like to know the staff opinion about using fair use in non-English wikias, particularly in wikis written in Spanish. From what I have read, it only works for people living in the USA. This forum was created to know about this: Forum:About Fair use. I hope you can help us clarify this issue. When updating licensing to CC-BY-SA-3.0, why some languages of MediaWiki:Copyrightwarning weren't taken affect?

for some example...

• MediaWiki:Copyrightwarning/zh-hk
• MediaWiki:Copyrightwarning/zh-sg
• MediaWiki:Copyrightwarning/zh-hans

I didn't know in other languages were also.....???? (For example: es, pl, pt are currently OK, but zh-hk, zh-hans, zh-hant)

It's because whoever translated it didn't use "$2" for the license. That's why those messages didn't take affect. You need to translate the message and be sure to translate the actual message: "All contributions to Wikia are considered to be released under the $2 (see $1 for details)."-- BlueDevil ^Talk 17:02, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Please help me keep an eye on the userpage of ChrisChanSonichu as he is obviously a sensitive person and at Wikiindex where I am an administrator I had to delete vicious obscene insults on his userpage. On his talk page I suggested Autism Wiki and the trolls who tried to trash his Wikiindex Userpage may follow him to Autism Wiki. Autism Wiki isn’t very active at the moment, so we may need to make sure that any vandalism is removed and the vandals are blocked promptly. I didn’t realize that the wiki isn’t active when I suggested that he go there. Proxima Centauri 16:13, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
