Wikia - creating communities
[edit] RfA Blurb
As you may have been able to tell from the title, this is not for normal adminship (sysop), but rather for bureaucratship (bureaucrat). I've searched through Central and have not found anything that was specific to requesting Bureaucratship, so I decided to just use the existing system.
Now, why am I doing this, you ask? Well, Central Wikia hasn't exactly been known for it's lack of RfAs, but it is known for it's complete and utter lack of bureaucrats. As such, some member of the Community Team have to go and promote people whenever an RfA is successful, and I'm sure they have plenty of other things to do than stuff that a normal bureaucrat can perform if one just existed.
As such, I felt that somebody should take action about this, and I felt that I was up to the task. I am already a sysop here, and have been one for quite some time (over 4 months), so I am quite familiar with all of the tools and such. I also have bureaucrat access on Wikia Gaming, which is the hub for the entire Gaming section of Wikia. I have been a founder of another wiki, but I felt that doesn't count since I didn't really "earn" it there, like I did at Wikia Gaming.
For what I'll do as a bureaucrat, here it is. I'll look through the RfAs and grant the access if they are successful. This takes a job out of the hands of the staff so they can actually do other more important things. If the community decides that we also want some rollbackers, I could help in promoting those people as well. In addition to that, I will continue fighting spam and reverting vandalism, being active on IRC, and giving support to those that ask for it.
I do not think that being a sysop or a bureaucrat gives me an elevated status in the community. Rather, it means that I just have the ability to perform some tasks that the regular community cannot for security reasons. I don't view myself as above the community or Wikia, but as a servant leader, where I not only serve the community, but also am a good, positive role model that others can follow. With that type of attitude, you can be assured that I won't abuse my access here and I will only use it when the community's policies or actions require me to.
I hope you consider everything that I have just said, and please voice your opinion below, be it support or oppose, I want to know what you all think! ^_^
Thank You, and Regards, --Skizzerz 15:06, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Not that I don't trust you with the access, or your ability to judge consensus. But I think Staff do a pretty good job of doing it. I also think we should discuss a bureaucrat policy, and decide if there is really a need for bureaucrats. --CharitwoTalk 01:32, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
