Wikia - creating communities
I strongly disagree with the statement that "Vandalism usually starts as a form of heavy-handedness which is never effective at getting a point across in a wiki community".
A lot of vandalism is simple attention seeking. Look at the Stephen Colbert / Elephant incident. en:User:JzG 21:30, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

I don't mean to be critical, but this page seems a littler confusing and not incredibly helpful on actually dealing with vandalism. Would there be any objections to kind of overhauling it and starting over? Scottch 09:59, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- That sounds a good idea. Wikipedia has a lot of useful information on this topic which could be used to create a new page here. Angela talk 19:18, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Interwiki vandalism
Is there somewhere on Wikia Central to discuss InterWiki vandalism. I can delete it where I'm an admin but there are a lot of other wikia I see the same stuff going on.

- There isn't at the moment, but it might be useful to start a forum page where all vandalism can be reported. Angela

[edit] Proxies
Even if the Vandal's IP is detected and blocked, a vandal could still use a proxy. Is there anything that can be done about this? I don't think so... at least not affecting innocent people who use a proxy as well. Nicolasjager 05:46, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
