The Baywatch DVD For the first time now, Baywatch is finally released on DVD, but with one exception.
The official first season won't be released, but season 2 will be released, but as season 1.

Baywatch is one of the most popular TV shows of all time. Baywatch ran for 11 seasons which is quite an achievement, considering the show was actually canceled in 1990, after the first season. Due to low ratings, NBC decided to cancel the show after just one season. However, the show creator Gregory J. Bonann and star David Hasselhoff saw much more potential in the show. The two of them decided to sell Baywatch on the syndicated market. Finally for the start of the 1991-1992 season, Baywatch was back on the air again, now in syndication. Looking back now at how big and popular the show actually became, it was pretty obvious that NBC had made a terrible mistake when they decided to cancel the show.
The series went through a complete makeover before the start of the second season. Because Baywatch was produced for the syndicated market and not bound to a big TV network anymore, the producers could finally do the show the way they wanted it. Gone was the big action plots and instead the show was now more focused on lifeguarding. In syndication Baywatch became very popular and during the mid 90s, Baywatch was aired in 144 countries, making it the most popular TV-show of all time.
