Wikia Image tagging is a feature that allows you to tag parts of an image with a link to an article. It is especially useful if an image contains a group of people and you want to note who each person is.

To add a tag, visit an image description page and choose the tag this image link. Click on the part of the photo you want to tag. Type an article name into the box that pops up. Click tag. You can enter another tag in the same way. When you're finished, click the done tagging button. See the screenshot below.

You can link to articles on the same wiki by typing the name on an article there, or you can link to articles on any other wiki using interwiki links. For example, entering w:c:world:London (with no square brackets) would link to the London article on the World Wikia.

To view a tag, hover your mouse pointer over the tag name. A box will be displayed on the image showing where this tag was placed.

All tagging actions can be viewed in the Tag Log.

Try it out at Scratchpad Wiki Labs or see StarWars:Image:Leiadeathstar.jpg for an example of a tagged image.
