We felt it was important for content to be the focus of the page. Eye-tracking studies have shown that content is read starting at the top left with the eye moving down the left column first. All of the controls and links you are used to are now above the content or in right column or in the title bar next to the wiki logo.

[edit] Wikia Bar includes more prominent search bar and breadcrumbs

The introduction of breadcrumbs to Wikia allows users to better discover more great wikis in a given category.

[edit] Grouped User Controls into one drop down menu

From this drop down you can access your user page, preferences, see your contributions, watchlist and manage widgets.

[edit] The entire right column is customizable

Using the Widget Dashboard, you can now customize the location of information and tools that are most important to you and your community. To access the dashboard, click "Manage Widgets" in the User drop down menu. To add a Widget to the sidebar, drag it to the position you want it to be. Yes, it's that simple! [edit] We've built in lots of controls

• If you are a registered user, whatever skin you currently have as a default will stay the same (in most cases this will be Monobook). The new skin can be accessed by going to your preferences and selecting from the QuartzSlate choices.

• Registered users will also get smaller ads in the top right.

• If you are a new user, you can choose from any of the skins by creating an account and going to your preferences.
