  • Please note: This is NOT a duplicate of Wikipedia. The format here is different. Copying the article from Wikipedia is a good start, but the article will need to be cleaned up. See Kurt Angle as one example of the formatting we do here. Other content will be on sub-articles, when editors have the time to make them. This format we do, isn't complete yet (which is why sub-articles) don't exist yet in a finalized form.
  • Also note, don't post spoilers for television shows that haven't aired yet. Not everyone wishes to read about them. Wait to add them after the show has aired.

Pro Wrestling

Professional wrestling is a form of entertainment where the participants engage in simulated wrestling matches for means of entertainment. In its purported rules and competitions, it mimics the convention of sport.

During its earlier history, professional wrestling promoters and performers claimed that the competition was real, and varying fractions of the audience have believed this to be the case (a situation known as kayfabe). Any pretense to be a sporting competition was dropped in the 1990s, when Vince McMahon's World Wrestling Federation began describing its events as "sports entertainment".
