SpongeBob SquarePants is the eponymous character of the Nickelodeon animated series SpongeBob SquarePants. He was designed by marine biologist and animator Stephen Hillenburg, and is voiced by Tom Kenny. SpongeBob is a porous yellow sponge with large blue eyes, a mouth with prominent front teeth, dimples and freckles. He is employed at the Krusty Krab, a local burger joint owned by money-obsess Eugene H. Krabs. SpongeBob is friends with Patrick Star, whom he enjoys Jellyfishing and bubble blowing with and Sandy Cheeks, a squirrel who plays karate and goes to the local beach, Goo Lagoon.
